It will still be relevant as in a dogfight there is a likelihood of one being the Turn and burn while the other is less maneuverable and hopefully faster, thus energy fighter. The F-15 vs Mig-29 will most certainly be a good example. F-15 vs say an Mig-25. F-15 is Turn and Burn. F-15 vs Mig-29, better use energy tactics. F-104 vs Mig-17.... Its an energy fighter. The Mig will be the T&B here. That is my two cents Maico

I am really gunning to play Wings over Israel 2. However, I cant find how to do an external view to the enemy. I had it a few days ago but now I have lost it. What is the default command (not default keystroke) for this command. I want to be able to hit a button and get a external view from my a/c to the enemy's. Is this a two part command? Wow, I was afraid of this. Does anyone fly with externals enabled? How do I get an external view from me to the enemy? I thinks this is the most basic thing. I am about to give up on this sim. I have spent the last couple of nights going to bed at the last minute frustrated by this problem. I just want to play instead I am working my ass off to fix this. I just started back on this sim and already need a break from it. Sorry, this is very frustrating

Hey fella Pilots: Anyone figure out where is the final resting place of these? I tried putting a Screenshots folder in there but that did not work. Sorry, I am sure its been asked. I have been on these forums for days and cant find it. Now by boss wants me to do some work. He is not sympathetic that I am devoting all this time to a sim at the moment. So I told him, "This Sim is so important that I broke up with my girlfriend to play it" He knows I am lying. There is no way I could ever have a girlfriend Also, where is the basic FAQ's for this game. Ahhh, Uhmmmm, Eh? Are you saying in My Documents there should be a Screenshots folder? BTW, the game directory does not have a Screenshots folder. I added one but this did not work.

I have something strange going on. The game was running really good for a month or so. I had a great time with it. Sudenlly the game would not start at all so I did a complete reinstall. I then Patched up to 1.27 and my aircraft disapeared. My aircraft and friendly aircraft do not show up at all. I see the propeller and smoke, I even see the shadow if I start from the ground. I can even get an internal view of the pit. But from the outside, nothing. Anyone know what this is? Thanks Maico

File CUSTOM SETTINGS. You are looking at Resolution Settings. Once you open this you will see a bunch of tick marks for Aircraft Detail 1-5 Terrain Detail 1-5 Effects Detail 1-5 ect. Only the SuperGod PC will run everything at 5. I dont think this PC is invented yet. Find these setting and you will unlock a lot of performance in the game.

Fellas: This is a great comunity. Good stuff coming out of here. I see some great systems here. I am green with envy theseeker! Nice! My setup has an E8600 no OC and two 8800 Ultras. I have 2 Gigs of DDR3 by Corsair. Unfortunatly they are aircooled. My system seems a little dated compared to others here. Last night I did some tweaking with settings I found on this site. My game went from 25-35 fps to 45-57 fps. But I just wish my vga's ran under 50c. I wonder if I could get a water cooling kit for them? Uhmmmm....

Its taken some time but slowly I figured out this sim. I cant get the hook out of my mouth! This is about as adictive as it gets. I love the scenery and weather. The aircraft are challenging and the fighing is furious. The kills are adding up now. I do have a tendency to auger in... a lot. However, I hope I get used to the flying model. I have logged a few hours now on the QC and I am ready for something different. I am ready to fly missions. The single missions are ok, but I want to see more of the sim. I tried last night to build a career but I got frustrated. Every time I try to begin a (german) career It only allows me to begin with that horrible little Halberstadt III. Can I choose a different time/aircraft? Thanks for reading. I apreciate any help. Maico

I have searched hi and low for days. So now I throw in the towel. I have an X52, MSFF2 and CH Rudder Pedals. I am on XP Pro patched up current. As per advice in the FAQ at OFF official web site: "You need to change the following entries in your CFS3.XCA file located in C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_LOGON_NAME\Application Data\Microsoft\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields (where C: is the drive letter where your XP OS is installed, change if not on C:) In the Mine.xca file: <Device Type="yourstick"> <GameMode Name="Player"> <Axis ID="X" Action="Set_Yaw" SCALE="-64"Nullzone="3"/> All you do is make the original entry into a negative number (see example above) and the pedals will work properly." Now, I get about as far as my name.... Where is this Application Data folder? My game is installed as follows C:\OBD Software\ CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields that is how the game installed. But for the life of me, I cant find a Mine.XCA. I would like to change or delete entries so that my X52 and MSFF2 dont control the rudder. Also the throttle on my MSFF2 is now also controlling the throttle. I want to use it as a elevator trim. Right now my rudder pedals work. I beleive this Sim is about to get real fun. Maico

Pedals add a new dimension to flying. Some aircraft have a LOT of rudder. The Dr 1 is one of them. With the pedals I am able to meke ridiculous yaw movements to bear my guns on the enemy. Also I can make minor corrections when chasing a guy. Never to mention, it is the way an aircraft was meant to be handled.

Hi, My Name is Maico.... I am a Hardware Aholic.... Great set ups I see here. Here is what I use. I have MS FFB2 on the right. I love the force feedback of this stick like no other (Sorry Saitek). On the left I have a Saitek X52. I thinks this is the greatest throttle money can buy. The X52 Joy sits to the left of the throttle and acts only as extra buttons (Great for Lock On, Black Shark ect). TIR 4 and CH pedals complete the setup. I really want to replace my pedals with a set of Saitek. This is my second set of CH pedals and again there is a spike in one of the pots. I have used my X52 since they were introduced to the market (Two years or more) and I have tried the Saitek Cyborg and it is not a bad stick. I would use it if I had to have a new stick. I also have a CH FighterStick USB. I dont use it. I dont like its huge clunky feel and the fact that its movements are through a gate. It takes a lot of getting used to. Trasitions from X to Y are not so smooth. I am sure it will last a lifetime as long as you dont abuse it or smack it around. But it is not my cup of tea. I have an older CH joystick and would like to put its handle on a FFB2 Base. That would be the ultimate stick IMO. My recomendations are to scrounge the garage sales or family basements for a MS Force Feedback. If you cant find one use the Saitek Cyborg. Also get a X52 and use it as a trottle. The X52 Throttle puts so many buttons at your reach. If you program "Shift" on one of your MSFFB2 buttons then you double the commands on your X52 throttle. But now I am giving away too many secrets. I got my copy on monday and all I did was play for two days straight. Wow, what a sim! The eye candy was to die for. I really love the weather effects and explosions. There is just one thing that frustrated me. How do you get an external view from the player aircraft to the enemy? I programed a whole lot of buttons and None produced the result I wanted. I tried doing "External to Target" and followed it with "Next Target" or "Previous Target" . This is obviously not the trick. I dont like to use padlock but I will resort to it if I cant do externals. Again, I could not program this because I cant find the right sequence of keys. Can someone tell me what is the right sequence of commands to get an external view from my aircraft to the enemy. How do you then go to "Next Enemy view". Ok, then if its not too much to ask, How do you do this for friendlies? Does Padlock work the same way? Thanks Guys, To be honest I am a little embarassed that I could not understand this. Even First Eagles seems easy to program by comparison. Good Day

How about a proc with a little more Power? But remember, if its been a while since you last installed your OS, then its time. This will have a good effect on your pc. It will be especially helpfull if your PC is a "do it all" PC.

Having a strange problem lately. I have been a TK fan for years and I buy everything the man makes. Lately I have built a new PC and I put IL2 and LOMAC on. They run fine as does Black Shark, TvsT and Silent Hunter IV. I am now trying to get back to FE. I tried to install FE on my machine and it would not run. I then bought FE Gold and I still have the same problem. So i then tried to install WOI and now I realize I really have a problem. When i install any of TK's games, I get a black screen and I cant see the game. I hear the music in the background but cant play the game. I have done several installs, reboots ect. I am really at a loss and would be really greatfull for any help. I run WinXP Pro with the latest updates including the latest Direct X 9c. My PC is a 3Gig Dual Proc with 2 8800 Ultra. I have 4 gigs of DDR3. I had run FE,WOI and WOV before. I dont get why now it does not run. Any help or advice would be apreciated.

I cant play FE or WoV. I am sure the rest of TK's games will not play either. This is not good. My Proc is a Intel Core 2 Duo 8600 3.33

IS there a way to set up a mission ? I see there are some single missions included with the game. Can these be copied and maybe changed? Cheers Maico
