Will P4 actually track squadmates performances?
redwolf posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
This is a niggling issue for me with Phase 3 - a little bit of an immersion killer. Was wondering whether Phase 4 will accurately track and report how your squadron mates did on their sorties (eg. proper kills, deaths, etc)? Thanks for any info. -

Wonderful news Winder, hope you guys can pull it off! This feature alone pretty much makes it a must buy from me - thanks for working on this! -
Will P4 actually track squadmates performances?
redwolf replied to redwolf's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yes, but it has been mentioned before that these stats are not 100% accurate due to cfs3 engine limitations (?). So it may say that a squadmate got 2 kills, though he really didn't at all in reality, got killed in action, though he actually didn't, etc. -
Is there a Korean War Mod available or in the works for SF2? I thought I heard mention of one in progress a long time ago. Status?

BirdDogICT, If your first contact falls through, I could really use it. -
Sorry, OT, but - I would STRONGLY recommend you reinstall it and try this new entry into the world of gaming bliss: http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/ - Wow, is this incredibly fun and very well done! Run, don't walk to reinstall Crysis!

Vietnam A4-E Missing Tail (with Viet Gold Mod)
redwolf replied to RichardG's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I had the same problem too. Win7 64bit, all patches applied. The file provided in this thread fixed it for me. Thank you! -
Yes, it does work just fine (I hate having the cd in my drive) contrary to what is posted in a sticky in these forums (providing you have the right one that goes with the properly updated cfs3). It is quite easy to find. No more needs to be said here at all - you'll have to do your own searching.

Sorry, can't be too much help only can say that I have a new quad core AMD system running Win7 64 bit and it runs beautifully (and a huge jump from my dual core winxp 32 bit system). So I would concur that it has nothing to do with AMD quad & win7 64 bit systems and the issue is somehow unique to your particular system set up (which I think you already believe anyways). My system is a Phenom II X4-910 (Quad core 2.6 Ghz) with 8 gigs of ram running Win7 64 bit and using an ATI 4830 512mb video card with the latest win7 64 bit catalyst drivers. I didn't have to set any cpu affinities or do any special tweaking whatsoever. It ran wonderful from the get go. Sorry I can't be of more help, but just confirming that there isn't any sort of AMD quad core with Win7 64bit issues with the game.

Top 5 aircraft for next OFF installment
redwolf replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I'd be pretty happy if they concentrated on filling the missing links in the squadron upgrade chains and added a heavy to both sides. Beyond that, like Dutch mentioned, early period planes would be nice. -
I'm an elementary school teacher. Been so for the past 10 years.

OT - What are your favorite Non-flight sim games?
redwolf replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yup, put me in with the Oblivion crowd too. I also really enjoy: Mount & Blade Medieval Total War 2 Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway Madden 2008 (heavily modded) ...and just recently started playing Might & Magic: Dark Messiah and have been having a blast with it! -
MiniPATCH V1.32C is now available!
redwolf replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Misunderstanding. I am saying that you download a 32c rar. Run a 32c executable, but during the installation of 32c, it says 32b has now been installed - where it should be saying 32c has now been installed. Was wondering if 32c has been installed and this is a type-o, or if it is still 32b? -

The download and executable says 32c, but the updater says 32b. -
Came across this article that may be of interest: http://www.devmag.org.za/articles/78-ZERO-...KETING-GUIDE/1/ :)

Neither...currently using a 3rd party "intermediate" DM by Fortiesboy - it's a nice happy medium (no pun intended) between the two official ones.

Well, my 19" CRT monitor now smells like burning plastic on occasion, so it's time to get a WS LCD monitor. I have a limited budget, though, and am looking for a decent 22" LCD monitor under $220 CAD. Any suggestions as to a decent monitor that may fit the bill? I have a Radeon X1950Pro and unfortunately won't be upgrading it anytime soon so I don't have to have one that has 1920x1080 resolution (1680x1050 max should be just fine). Anyways, I'm interested in hearing any good experiences (or bad experiences) with any 22"'ers or some recommendations (or ones to avoid). I'm looking at the under $220 CAD ones here: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?min...mp;po=0&ps= and here: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/cat....asp?CatId=2775 Since I am new to the realm of ws lcd monitors, any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks! Redwolf

OT Your top 3 aircraft of all time?
redwolf replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
1. P-38 Lightning 1a. P-47 Thunderbolt 3. Spitfire Honorable mention: FW-190A -
Since patching to 1.3, I can no longer fly. Both in QC and in campaign, instead of going to the field, I get booted back to either the main QC menu or the main campaign menu. I re-ran cfs3config (the one for BHAH) in hopes that it may remedy the situation but unfortunately, no joy. I have not subbed in either of the optional DM's for 1.3. All was well prior to the 1.3 patch. I attempted re-patching with no success. WinXP SP2, current vid drivers for my ATI card (X1950Pro), 2 Gig ram, Opteron 180.
-
Yes, all else failed. Barring a reinstalation, I reset CFS3 in the workshop and it now seems to work fine.
-
No error messages at all - just a boot back to either the QC menu or Campaign menu. Seems to happen with any aircraft (mind you, I haven't testing them all - but the problem happens so far with SEa5, Pup, N17 ....likely all I think). Things start out fine - I get the proper initial loading screens but don't make it to the darker black background screen with the two pilots just prior to the field. It's boots me back about the time that screen would normally appear. Will try making a new pilot and testing again.

Normal with "hard" guns vs. Hardcore with "normal guns?
redwolf posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to play my favorite sim in the past week or so...was wondering what's the difference between normal DM with "hard" gun settings and hardcore DM with "normal" gun settings? -
Normal with "hard" guns vs. Hardcore with "normal guns?
redwolf replied to redwolf's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
No malace intended whatsoever and I hope that my post isn't perceived as such... Was just looking for a general consensus as to the ease of downing a plane with the different settings/levels of play. The appearance of ambiguity seems to lies in the middle (eg. normal, hard guns vs. hard, normal guns). I love the fact that there are many options. I was just looking for thoughts from those who have had more time with it lately, that is all. Herr Prop-Wasche posted some very interesting information regarding the DMs... will have to fly and find the best for me. -
Normal with "hard" guns vs. Hardcore with "normal guns?
redwolf replied to redwolf's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
So, we basically have six levels of "plane downablility", for lack of a better term: DM normal, easy guns DM normal, normal guns DM normal, hard guns DM hard core, easy guns DM hard core, normal guns DM hard core, hard guns Gosh, plenty to choose from! I'm sure pretty much everyone should be able to find a good fit for them - thanks for all these options! Just haven't been able to put in the time with it lately, unfortunately. Prior to 1.26 (with the initial stock DM), I was wanting something in between normal and hard guns...I suspect now, post 1.28 that DM normal, hard guns would probably be the best fit (????). Was hoping Winder would chime in here (or one of the other developers). Would love a sort of ranking of the 6 levels as to "plane downability" (eg., is DM hard core, normal guns > DM normal, hard guns?...does DM normal, normal guns = DM hard core, easy guns?, etc.). I would find this very useful and I'm sure others that are trying to find the best fit for them would as well... ...anyways, off to do some flying...
