  1. How many hours?

Count me as one of the 'not even a close guess' crew. I started in 1988 with the original 'Falcon' and 'Jet' on an IBM 8086 and had all the best since.
  2. Looking forward to the return ML. Best wishes!
  3. A personal goal achieved!

lol, I had guessed that you had some knowlege from what you had said earlier. I had made my reply for those who have no basis for comparison .
  4. GO AWAY.....

Here Here!!!! Between that and commercials taking up almost 30 mins per hour of air time I've switched to watching DVDs!
  5. A personal goal achieved!

Well, that's calculated on a basis of flying 24 hours a day and assuming that every student during every hour is trying to kill you LOL. Not every student is out to kill you . When you figure in duty/rest times that's a lot longer. Part 121 regs only allow a pilot to fly 1000 hours per colander year. Duty time also is a factor of flight duration and usually company dependant up to the FAA limit of 16 hours between rest periods. At my company our daily duty time is usually at least 2x the flight time per day.
  6. A personal goal achieved!

You've got roughly double my TT . I had exactly 2000 hours in the BE-1900 last summer when I transitioned to the EMB-120.
  7. A personal goal achieved!

Congrats FC!! Pilots don't get old until we retire . What's your total time?
  8. Movie Lines that make great signatures...

"Captain, I believe I speak for everyone here when I say..........to hell with our orders!" Data: Star Trek:First Contact
  9. The Life of Major Lee

  10. The truth is that every great warhorse meets it day to pasture. The Tomcat is gone, and it's probably getting close to time to retire the some Eagles, earlier Falcons and early Hornets. It's IMO past time for some new steel to carry the weight and match the new Flankers.
  11. Happy Birthday, BABY!

Yep, but it's built by Sukhoi (33) HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!!!
  12. Not long after my unit transitioned to the F-16C-25, I and a couple of others got to talk to one of the pilots on the first deployment and the question was posed about the tanks. His statement was that the loading and drag factor was negligible for maneuvering as long as the tanks were nearly empty.
  13. Shirley you cant be serious!
  14. Need Help Landing

I've found that this is where the sim and real life differ. You gotta use the wheel brakes never mind how fast your rolling out. I guess anti-skid is modeled very well as I havn't blown a tire yet due to a failure!
  15. Need Help Landing

IIRC brakes are 'K" I know that was the case with F4, and having already programmed the controls and had keystrokes burned into the brain I may have remapped F4AF. Plus if you are breaking the gear off, flare before touchdown. Put the velocity vector on the far end of the runway and cut power as you descend through 10 feet and let her settle on. Speed brakes help also. In the real F-16 they land with the speed brakes open. this controls airspeed and allows you to carry extra power so the engine doesn't have to spool up as far in the event of a go-around.
  16. Hey SayWhat?! Are you thinking the computer is getting confused? Just an idea here. Since both models are basically a C-130, and both call out the same textures perhaps slightly changing the name of the textures and their callouts in one model lod with a hex editer will cure that. Example, change one models Fuselage.bmp to Fuselag2.bmp and so on for the rest of the textures and callouts. I don't know if it will work, I've never installed my C-130J download only the 130H so I've never experianced this myself.
  17. I'm with FastCargo on this. The last official word that I saw stated the only F-14 model on the market is the Mirage Factory model. You must be having some issue with the textures or paths. Hmmm Orrrrrr there were decals added on boosting the number of decals per mesh to the affected parts in excess of 4. Can you post some screens?
  18. That's a good question Wrench!! I guess my answer to your question is I don't know. In my research I've identified all 24 Su-33s in the Soviet Navy inventory, and the testbed and production lead in aircraft. Of the Su27K(T-10) / Su-33 photos I've seen it appears that where the Navy Flanker is concerned the test and pre production aircraft carried the blue numbers while the 24 A/C assigned to the 2 squadrons carry red numbers. The one excption to this that I've seen is #79 (blue number) which (by the info I have) is the sixth production fourth serial SU-27K (T10K-6) and was assigned to the second Squadron. 13 Sea Flankers took part in the Kuznetsov's long range exercise cruise from the Barents to the Mediterranean 25 Dec 1995 - 22 Mar 1996. The First Squadron sent 5 A/C with red numbers, Second squadron sent 7 A/C with red numbrs, and the 13th was #109 (the seventh pre-production Su-27K [T10K-9]) with blue numbers. I hope this info helps on getting us all straightened out though. It would seem that for the Sea Flankers red is operational, and blue is a testbed A/C aircraft with some degree of operational quality.
  19. I do It's on hold for now. I have a pylon issue to work out. If anyone had dimensions for the APU-470 pylon or good drawings please let me know Now, we return you to the regularly scheduled Gorshkov discussion!
  20. Well, almost correct Gorshkov the 4th Kiev. The planned but as yet unfinished conversion Looking great X Ray, keep up the good work! Go ahead with the numbers. Drdoyo
  21. Remember

  22. Thank You Marcelo! Can't wait to take her for a spin. Merry Christmas!
  23. Mission 10: Instrument Landing

<Jamie> Warning, don't try this at home! <Adam> We are trained professionels with hundreds of hours between the two of us flying real instrument approaches You'll get it, Keep practicing! Once you get the hang of it it'll come back to you when you have to do it to get on the ground. The farther out you get stabilized the better off you will be, and make "small" corrections. I had to fly a real VOR approach 3 weks ago with the ceiling at minimums for the approach (480ft) and 1-1/4 mile visibility (1 mile was the minimum visibility for the approach)
  24. It is for the Su-33, and it uses the Su-33 cockpit to be carier operational. It can be found here http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php
  25. SH4 Screenshots

The framerate is smooth enough with volumetric fog (biggest processor hit) off that I havn't even bothered to check the actual number.
