This eggs outta the basket!! This is an F-4E pack with 3 camouflage patterns based on the jets I worked on the first 4 years of my enlistment as an aircraft structural mechanic in the Air National Guard. This pack represents the entire 163rd Tactical Fighter Squadron, 122nd Tactical Fighter Wing of the Indiana Air National Guard. Read the readme files!! They explain how things get installed and how they work. Enjoy! Drdoyo -

The temps would be good. I spent 7 1/2 years at Louisville, 7 of them full time. I want to do all 12 birds like I'm doing with the F-4Es. This project will be waiting in line for a few weeks though. -

Nice one Dave!!! I was thinking a bit about doing a KYANG H2-1/2 now that we have the H model. -
As requested, Fingers Four and Diamonds

It should work for Soviet as well. The key to the tight formations looking correct is you must be straight and level, and have enough speed that the AI stop bouncing. -

LOL no but I was really close once, a fraction of an inch. I learned my lesson by getting bitten by an FA-18. Don't talk to someone behind you while walking towards the jet!!! That stabilator trailing edge IS at forehead level with the hydraulics depressurized. I had a red line for 3 days. -
Well, I no longer have any pics from the military, but here are a couple from 2004 during my Airline training. In the BE-1900D sim Just passed the 121 checkride and still in a respectable Air Guard Civil Service Technician stance (hand in pocket)

Flt, and anyone else interested, I started a thread with the formation.ini edits in this section. On to the update. The wings are done, and the tail is ready for minor tweeking. I also corrected the beef-up plate on the stabilators. Next I'll create the layered templates for the two fuselage parts. On to the screens If you can see the red outline on the chaff/flare dispensors your following too close The tails -

Thanks FLT! 1) That's RAZBAM's Korea terrain, you have to pay for it but it's well worth it IMO. I'm not home now, so if someone could post the link that would be great. 2) See above post I'll post the text changes -

Sure can Mike. I'm at work for a couple more days, so I'll look at the files when I get back. It involves editing a couple of files, and it's not 100% on the menu cosmetics but it is workable. I'll tak a look when I get home Tuesday or Wednesday. Thanks guys! -

Couple -o- pics. The left wing is the only part painted so far with a layered template and the pattern feathered, but you can compare it to the rest of the jet. Cheers! -

Mike, I edited the formations.ini so that it has finger four and diamond . It was part of a Blue Angels repaint that I started about the same time as the F-4Es A quick update: I was adding the rivets, and decided to go a lot more indepth . I have finished a complete multi-layer PSD template for the left wing after thinking of Talos's question some more. I'm going to do up the rest of the jet in the same mannor and release the templates also. It's much easier to adjust and feather the paint with layers . I've added grease, leaks, and shadows too. Let me get a screenie for ya. -

Sure Talos, can do! The only unit markings that is part of the skin are the FW and fin cap. Everything else is a decal. Wish I still had Warbirds and the rest of the series :) They were great books !! -

Has there been any word about how bad the crash hit Marcfighters? Is there a damage report? -
Just a little try
drdoyo replied to airvee001's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I'm not going to say it can't be done, but we are all limited to the extent of the game engine. That is why we are still waiting for the latest jets, and many of the Soviet birds. Many things now are a compromise, for instance the Su-33 that I was working on would have had no visible canards, or visable tail hook. Marcfighters is/was working on a proper version which would have the correct 3D shape of the more modern Flanker varients. The shoulder area fix for the F-14 would require a new visual model. The Super Hornet, F-22 and others have not been released due to flight engine or avionics limitations (we only have a 1970's avionics package to work with in lue of the 1960's avionics package in SFP1). Now, I'm IMHO all for having a "close" representation of certain birds until TK gives us the tools to do the details. Bring em on. That way when we get those details, most of the work is already done. I like the AB nozzels on that Cat! The bird's looking good. Can you post a pic or two with the nozzles closed? -

The textures are 1024x1024. To be honest the JPGs I've uploaded don't look as good as the screen shot BMPs. Some of these birds went to Luftwaffe ownership and were based at Holloman AFB. The rest went to the Greek AF. I'm happy with the painting now, so it's time to revert to my other old job....smashing some rivets then I'll work up the documentation. Thanks for the encouragement guys -

Ok folks, here's an update. I've been redoing the Asia One, and European One skins. The decals are all done. All tail numbers are accurate. There were 24 birds at any one time (2-Asia1, 3-European1, and 19 Egypt1 schemes). I have all 30 decal serials for the jets we had between 1986 and 1991. Here are the latest screens of the green skins. -
