  1. Another little trick for Laser Guided Bombs and Electro Optical Guided Bombs that is not in the manual is knowing when to drop them from a level run. I use the rule 1/2 RELEASE ALTITUDE = RELEASE POINT. So if I'm dropping from 18,000 ft = 9 miles from the target is where I drop. They hit every time, unless there was a nearby obstruction they didn't clear.
  2. Yep, that's part of why I almost cried
  3. I spent 2 weeks at Cecil in the summers of 85 and 86 with VFA-106 when they had FA-18A and TF/A-18As. They were training VFA-136 and VFA-137 for their initial formation. I've flown over the field a few times going to Jax Intl, could pick out the BOQ, the half circle of BEQ buildings both of which I stayed in, the rec area by the lake, VFA-106 and VA-174's hangers. What I saw almost made me cry. I have some fond memories of Cecil, including a fam flight in the last operational C-1 in the Navy. The Captain who was PIC of that plane gave me some lasting inspiration that eventually changed my life. I to this day wish I had acted agressively on his words 20 years sooner. They were "Don't ever give up on flying or let anyone tell you you can't, you're a natural." From our pics C5, I see why you chose VA-82 and VA-66
  4. Now WHERE can I get the Sea View?
  5. Subscription Plans NOW Available

Been busy with work, but I'm in too now. Thanks to Eric and the rest of the staff for their support to keep the community going!! I can't imagine what it must have been like to come up with any kind of workable solution.
  6. Airbus A400M Roll-Out

No. It's no different than any other two + crew aircraft where the Captain would have their left hand on the yoke/stick and right hand on the power/thrust levers and the First Officer would have the right hand on the yoke/stick and left hand on the power/thrust levers. It's not difficult at all.
  7. Hmmm, strange. I regularly fly with a 4 ship. What campaigns are we talking about?
  8. ramp start

You have to choose a mission that is 25 minutes or more "game time" before takeoff time, and you have to click "fly" before the game enters that 25 minute span.
  9. Another great mod Kevin!! BTW, a number of Fort Wayne's F-4Es went to the Greek AF in 1996 when we transitioned to the F-16C
  10. I'm one of the few that likes to hand fly it all the way Michael I had to find another solution.
  11. I've had this happen often myself. You'll also note that your wingmen are right there with you and as you pass WP8....poof, they're gone too. What I do which seems to work is after I get the mission complete message from Red Crown, or upon passing WP5 I cycle the WP to 7 and then back to 6. By doing that the carrier is alwayse there unless I forget to do that. I don't know why it happens, but that fixes the vanishing carrier and wingmen in my game.
  12. Dropping tanks and racks/ordinance?

When I worked on F-4Es 1/3 of my shop (sheet metal) was assigned to the fuel tank buildup team. When we transitioned to F-16Cs that team went away. A few of us were talking about that on our first deployment with the airplane and one of the senior pilots in the squadron stated that if the tank is empty that with that (then new for us) jet the weight and drag of the tanks is inconsequential, and they were told to bring them back. I would imagine you would still get rid of the tanks, if they were full and any other extraneous ordnance, in the event you needed to maneuver to survive.
  13. No offense FC and Typhoid, but I'd like to remind everyone else it's not just the military where things can get deep in a heartbeat. I've lost a friend just after we got our liscences. It was a case where they were at the changeover point of two control zones in fadeing light. Neither controler informed their aircraft of the other aircraft. Witnesses on the ground told the FAA my friend saw the other aircraft....too late to avoid him. No one knows if the 2 men in the other aircraft saw my friend's. 5 people died including my friend's wife, and his daughter from his previous marriage. I fly EMB-120s in a high traffic area (SE Florida) and you never know what you'll be dealing with on the way to work. Bad things can happen quickly when you mix VFR traffic with IFR departures and arrivals from 5 closely spaced airports (including Miami Intl). Thank GOD for TCAS!! Though it's not 100%, you most of the time have an idea of where to look, and at the very least when to avoid even if you don't see the other aircraft.....that opposite direction cessna that you are closing with at a combined speed of 350 knots. I've seen many cases where ATC warned us, but we never saw them, or we saw them but ATC never had them on radar, or we saw them close aboard just before we passed as ATC was calling them out to us for the first time. I've had cases where (just last week at 18,000 ft [29.92]) ATC said 11 o'clock 1000 ft above you opposite direction. He turned out to be 1230 and 200 ft above us passing our right side. I saw him (Convair580 or 640) a mile and a half out as I got the feeling that something wasn't right and started looking on my side of the center brace. We looked at each other and said at the same time "his altimeters weren't set at 29.92 because that wasn't 19,000 feet!" That was easily a 400-500 knot closure, we were doing 320 across the ground and he passed us 1/4 mile off the right.
  14. Check the cat files in the Flight folder. You'll find at least "CALLSIGNSUS.LST" in the "MissionData.cat". I havn't looked in all of the CAT files so I'm not sure if there are linking files elsewhere.
  15. And if you think that's bad, don't fly with a tired pilot!!
  16. Chavez shows he's toy

Not just yet. I painted that and 3 other KH-31 skins a couple of months ago and made it so each version (A1,A2,P1,P2) has a different skin. I'll have to look into permissions, but have had other projects with higher priority.
  17. Chavez shows he's toy

Hey Silverbolt, Ya mean like this?
  18. Ravenclaw_007's mod completely covers the model's original antenna. It's still there inside the new part but you just don't see it because Ravenclaw_007's part is larger. It is very doubtful you could go from a one wheel setup to a descent looking two wheel setup without a different lod even if it wasn't on a moving part.
  19. Actually Vlamik the bottom illustration is for the Su-27, Su-27UB, Su-27SK, Su-27UBK, and Su-30KI. The SU-35 like the SU-33 and SU-30MK from what I've found has 12 hardpoints. Weapons http://propro.ru/flankers/eng/missiles.htm This page also has some info on various versions. Nice info including weapons loadouts and cockpit illustrations http://knaapo.com/media/News/maks2007/su35eng.swf Hope this helps
  20. I'm really enjoying it Gepard. In fact it's my terrain of choice lately to test a good deal of my WIPs.
  21. Nice one Blackbird. I'll look this weekend for the links to Flanker loadouts which I found and post them. I made a s(im)u-35 for myself and was going to skin it, but I havn't found enough photo reference for any one pattern yet to begin that skinning project with all my other WIPs
  22. There is another answer. Since 000-024 are available, copy, paste, and rename 000-024 to fill 025-099. Still uses a lot of HD space, but it's the only way I was able to bet my USN jets to have the correct series modex numbers (no 400 series on VF-1 F-14s) in campaign. I concur about the RNG issue that Gocad brought up being the problem by what has ben described.
  23. Can you be a little more specific about "what" sounds are in the pack?
