My often stated Final Solution for The Hacker Problem is to; 1. infiltrate one of the hacker conventions 2. take them all into custody 3. line them up and shoot every third one 4. chain the rest to computers and networks with orders to fix everything they've ever screwed up 5. every three days repeat steps 3 and 4. I have no tolerance for these kind of malicious scum. 90% of all destructive hacking does not involve any financial benefit to the hacker - its just destructive, malicious vandalism. The other 10% involves theft of some sort. They are all scum of the earth with no redeeming social value

anything going supersonic tends to loose its stealth properties against certain radar frequencies. Would not be the preferred tactic.........

I've always been an enthusiastic space nut and am awe-struck every time a mission launches. of course, I get to watch them on a little different kind of video display...........

Typhoid replied to Viggen's topic in Military and General Aviation
if you would like someone to translate the meanings - put up what your question is. No doubt several here could tell you what they mean. -

an RPG will really screw up most ships, including a lot of combattants, if it hits them in the right place. Generally speaking an RPG will go right through the hull into the interior of the ship just fine. About the least vulnerable ships would be a double-hulled tanker. Most any other ship would not want to take a couple of rounds if they could help it.

Typhoid replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
I was playing with it too last night. Not getting anywhere.......... I'll go back to modding planes, campaigns and missions where I sorta know what I'm doing and leave the terrains to the professionals............. -
Afghanistan terrain Beta 0.6
Typhoid replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
it kinda sorta is already. needs desert and mountain tiles and such but you can drop it into the terrain folder in the My Documents section with a cat file in it, and addressed, and it does work. All the planes stack up on the runway but otherwise it does work. -
some of them tried it on a French FFG. They are now "guests" of the French Navy!

and just happen to drop your business card and resumes on the table.............. sounds like an interesting group. I noticed that they have been awarded some real contracts and are a prime on a current contract vehicle. (the project manager in me coming out) That's crucial. These guys are real. having said that..... They cannot actually do a real threat presentation given the number of aircraft available (5). Meaning they cannot take the place of an agressor squadron that can replicate flight and element tactics. yet.......... cool employment opportunity. Wonder if they need any controllers..............

As we feared, the "swine flu" or H1N1 virus has mutated and claimed its first non-human victim yesterday. A robot died from the virus, which is now being called the "R2D2 flu"
-
quite right. I saw somewhere that the deaths from Malaria and Turberculosis each exceed the total deaths from H1N1 each hour. just a lot of hysteria over a little flu........
-
I've also noted a significant increase in performance with my mid-grade system
-
its all about selling news and giving politicians another excuse to impose government "emergency measures" over some bit of nonsense.
