  2. these two work...I edited files so these two only show RCAF Mako RCAF (1955) CT-133.7z I redid to DTX1 dds which works...ive done half of the others but need to convert to dds DTX1 also,I ll post em when all done
  3. I can only get windows paint to open them...dds DTX1 (no alpha )no mips works... anything else wont show... open them in paint sve as jpg then save in ps to new dds is all I can suggest

  8. IIRC some a\c explode because of shock settings...some are too soft so plane bounces as spawns and blows up....seem to recall some issue with this which a\c happens to ?

Converting is quite easy...hard bit is redoing all the meshes ...relinking animating etc.. heres How I convert an imported 3ds or FBX or OBJ which is converted from say the .AC format...into 3ds max 1,I make sure the object is correct scale 1st...usually they are...KA50 was...BUT you need check that when imported the 3d it uses the models scale... 2,then I weld vertices usually using a small scale to make sure that vertices on small meshes arent all mixed up,and are welded correctly.. usually in 3ds or OBJ imoprting leaves modes meshes in areas of seperate meshes even single polygons...Ive had some where every single poly seperated.. PIC1 3, then I seperate the meshes...if importing 3ds I usually edit as poly and remove any extra edges added by the importer.....3ds etc tends to add diagonals to a poly...which on some curved areas causes the mesh to look ragged. PIC2 4 thats really the hardest part,then its a matter of animating,linking and exporting really PS I find FBX for max or flight studio \openflight . FLT importer tends to leave meshes as they were originally...

  13. in max need to convert from AC to 3ds or obj...this is one part then need import rotors then import interior......looks ok....this just airframe ive not time but im sure someone can adapt them...not hard as the models arent that badly seperated when exported... not too bad though as they are already mapped....are you sure they are 100% freeware ?

  15. Yeah same paint was used on F16`s and F15`s Air superiority blue.....did have codes for it somewheres.....

  18. dds is good for sims like fsx that use te alpha and mips ...but SF dooesnt use the alpha or mips...
  19. the DDS format files crash my game and dont load in lod viewer...what format are they ? dtx3 dtx5 ? I use Non alpha and no mip maps...as game dont use mips photoshop wont even open them to convert a\c dont go past 40% loading crashes everytime...even changed dds to no alpha and no mip maps...F80 works straight out of the zip file no probs resampled the F80engine wav it was causing the crash now works ok
  20. all you need do is drop skin folders in main a\c folder...game writes up the texture info whaen game runs (aircrafts folder main ini ) looks like its fixed tank issues...
  21. AB not working... cause.... In 8a in the afterburner ini is typo TextureStage[01].TextureName=Ye8_AFTERBURNER.tga FIX> rename to TextureStage[01].TextureName=Ye8AFTERBURNER.tga also thers no afterburner node,there is one in the M but not A
  22. If spec map is enabled in 3ds max it over rides game settings in texture ini, IIRC tried changing its spec settings in the texture ini?...
