Nah, I've been some of the same issues even before the patch.

On the map screen, grab the square Initial Point and just drag it back away from the target a bit. When you alt-n after that it should put you further back just before the IP.

The specs listed for SF2 here will absolutely manhandle a sim as old as FS9. So yes, the same is true, assuming you can install it on Win7 or 8

So ok, yeah this isn't happiest topic of discussion. My dad passed away today at 62, from a heart attack. I'm still kind of in shock, to be honest. But to try and cheer myself up I thought I'd post a few pictures of him to remember him by, and in the process you'll get to know a bit about a really great guy. Sometime in the early 70's. Him and his friends built that Piper Vagabond the summer after they graduated high school. We still fly it! They called themselves the "Skyblazers" in reference to the F-86/F-100 USAFE Demo Team. Early 80's probably, hand propping a Pitts Special at an Aerobatic Competition (Ottawa, KS I think) My dad competed in Unlimited for a number years with (and against) numerous members of the US/Great Britain/Soviet aerobatic teams. Dad, Mom and I the day I left for Basic Training. And finally, My Dad, my Brother, and me in front of that same old PA-15 at Blakesburg, Iowa. This is also the same airfield where the first picture I posted was taken, so many years ago. Dad, I'll miss you so much. The world has lost a great pilot, and even better Dad.

Once again, thanks to everyone who stopped by and gave their condolences. I also want to thanks to the SF mod community the last couple days have been nuts, and few minutes I get playing Strike Fighters is one of the few reprieves I get. Thank you guys for years of fun.

I don't see anywhere on the panel to accept DTU/DTM's. That's probably just a control panel and the tapes with OFP on them are most likely stored with the LRU box

So I ponied up and installed it. The LOD based terrain is still kind of slow but "minor" is hardly what I'd call the performance upgrade. "Massive", "Huge", or "Playable" would be the ones I would've used.

Yeah... I forgot to back up when I installed a DLC and had to go fix a bunch of crap. But, silver lining at least it shows he still working with the PC stuff.

I know the effects pack designed for ODS (and later released as a sort of addendum to the other packs) has really great iron bomb effects that usually leave smoke trails around the main one, simulating fires from secondaries. But, like MigBuster said, they will affect the FPS rate

Hey wrench, I really like this mod, but is there to make it sound better? There's two huge radials on this and whenever I throttle up it sounds like I'm revving a weed eater. What gives?
