I Need A Project To Do
CowboyTodd41 replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
The decals and tail numbers for FC's B-1B are all pretty wrong, at least the Ellsworth jets. I could provide info to help update the Ellsworth jets and I'm sure FC could probably have the Dyess aircraft covered. -
Oldies but goodies

Any chance of a release? The Heat shimmer looked pretty cool. -
Desert Terrain V.4
CowboyTodd41 replied to Piecemeal's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Yeah, it's set to unlimited. I did have to do some pretty heavy editing of the campaign .ini. Getting the Naval Fleets working took a while, but I got it. I know it wasn't designed to work with Desert 4 (or any other versions, lol) but I'd say it works at about 90% of how it should. It's not a huge deal to me, there's still plenty of MiGs to shoot :) -
Air Force transport jet arriving from Germany suffers ‘in-flight incident,’ may be diverted to Hanscom AFB

Wow, losing cabin pressure on a jet that big is no joke. Glad to hear everyone made it down OK. -
Desert Terrain V.4
CowboyTodd41 replied to Piecemeal's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
I get the 100% lock up occansionaly too. It works fine if I just run an instant action mission or single mission on the stock Desert map first. Then it loads ok. If it's the first terrain loaded it locks at 100% though. Only other issue I've seen is that during campaign missions (using a slightly modified Desert Fury '81 campaign by arthur666) the airbases don't seem to populate with static a/c even though the parking chance on the airbases are all set to 100. Other than those two minor annoyances (that don't halt my enjoyment) it's a fantastic terrain! -

Germany terrain rework (Wip)
CowboyTodd41 replied to Rends's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
It needs to be there, from what I understand it was would have been a major objective for GSFG when crossing the North German Plain. All of this looks so amazing! I wish I the had the talent to create this stuff like you guys do. -

The CV59, if not included in NA directly, is at the least included in Eburger's SF2NA Expansion -
Probably the best Disney movie (not counting Pixar Films) since Lion King.

What draw settings are you using to have all the buildings show up at such an extreme distance? -

Dyess receives first operational IBS-upgraded B-1
CowboyTodd41 replied to FastCargo's topic in Military and General Aviation
They're still pretty garbage if you have to work on them lol. This is very cool actually, I've heard some scuttlebutt that there's finally going to be some real reliability upgrades to DAS in the next year or so. Here's hoping. -

Any good tactics for the F-4M against the Foxbat? I wound up in about three interconnected rolling scissors with as many aircraft last night, and it was grueling. Just not sure how to fight these guys. -
Operation Oddysey Dawn Update Official Topic

Got something for you, a good video of the flight prep operations of the B-1B component from Ellsworth. Also shows the tail #'s used, 85-060 and 85-084 (or it might've been 86-095, not 100% sure) Thought you might find it interesting. -

A question for any B-1B experts
CowboyTodd41 replied to Sparkchaser2010's topic in Military and General Aviation
We prefered the flush mounts though. No extra panels to pull, no way for the antenna to get hit by a birdstrike. Luckily they rarely went bad. A flush mount was probably a fifteen minute part change, but the, ahem "boy jets" as we called them, could take multiple shitfs just because of the terrible made in china hardware the Air Force uses. -
What exactly constitutes an "act of treachery" in NK? Leaving the coffee maker on?

A question for any B-1B experts
CowboyTodd41 replied to Sparkchaser2010's topic in Military and General Aviation
I can answer this as this was my equipment. Those are the 1122 Antennas, I can't tell you what they do. Suffice it to say, ECM stuff. FC is correct, however there is really no old/new design. They started transferring to the flush-mounts but never completed the upgrade, so it's just a mishmash bladed/flush-mounted throughout the fleet. If you decide on which tail # you're modeling (may I suggest Ellsworth?) I can probably find out which version it has. -
A Phantom scheme used in Vietnam or not?
CowboyTodd41 replied to Stratos's topic in Military and General Aviation
If you can ever catch dogfights when it's actually shown in HD (which is almost NEVER) it's like a totally different show. It really is gorgeous, and it's far more quick and visceral.
