POTEZ 630 WIP
dsawan replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Prop Heads Forum
Hi, I know this is for sfp1 but I have a ww2 sf2 europe install and tried it in that. it flies good. But the guns dont show and I installed the weps pack-ww2. Any idea how to get them working? Usually for sf2, its plug and play but not sure if the editor is needed. -
well, they found and killed him. See here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091201/ap_on_re_us/us_officers_shot

Managing SF2 Series Mods
dsawan replied to Warmbrak's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hi, see this: Hi all! You may all know what I’m talking about already, but I couldn’t find it in the KB. I think I found a really easy way to have multiple installs of SF2 (or SF2V or SF2E). Apparently, the name of the folder in your main ThirdWire Mod folder is not hard-coded but copied from the name of the EXE when it is first run. So you fancy another intall!... Follow me: Go to your main SF2 (or V or E) folder. Make a copy of your “StrikeFighters2.exe” (or Vietnam or Europe, but you get that now). You should get a new file called “Copy of StrikeFighters2.exe”. Rename that file “Whatever_you_like.exe”. Run it. There you go! This will create a “Whatever_you_like” folder in your ThirWire mod folder (by now everyone knows where it is!). This folder is a carbon copy of the initial mod folder created by your stock SF2, with its own “option.ini”. When you launch your “Whatever_you_like.exe”, it will read this “option.ini” file. In your “Whatever_you_like” mod folder, you can add or remove pretty much anything you want (as long as it’s SF2 compatible). However, if you remove stock aircraft (or other ground objects), you will probably CTD if you try Instant Action or stock Campaign. So far, I’ve remove most of the US aircraft (I want a Western Europe vs Soviet) and add a new terrain, and everything works perfectly fine. Haven’t done a campaign yet!!! Franck -
getting guns to work in sf2?
dsawan posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hi, sorry if this has been mentioned before, but how do guns get edited in sf2 generation? Is it the same as sf1 where you exgtract the gundata and edit to make them work?Or will it be like the weps pack and you add in. i only know of killer bee's addon, but thas weps not guns. i just tried the potez addon to see if it worked in sf2 atmoshphere and weps work but guns dont. thx. -

How's this one comin? -
To be honest, i prefer lost episodes or forgotten using computer generrated people of the original movies or seiries. Similar to the honeymooners lost episodes or simply a forgotten era or decade to keep the oringals going. Something Like in Star wars, How han won the Falcon from lando and add some story behind it. I bet people in the 30-40 range would see it in additon to new generation kids. Just focus on story plots and pc generated versions of original actors. I know its fake but...
-
What i meant was different actors and whatnot. Similar to what they did with Lost in Space. theres the 60's era and then the movie in 98 or 99. You may have better grapgics and effects but you tarnish the image of the original. Same with Battlestar Galactica. too much graphics and effects is no good. I am happy with the 78 version. I think it shd have continued with nore episodes and a slight effects change. i hate the idea of starbuck as a woman. Baltar and the cyclons from 78 were better. Just use computer animated peole and focus more on story plots and episode titles. thats all that needs to be done. if you cant get the original actors to play their parts, use pc graphicvs or effcts. Lucas showed that with Governor tarkin in star wars prequel 3 and the death star. Yoda was animated also via computer. Its cheaper though not traditional. but it keeps it close to the originals as possible.

if they redo Star wars classic, then life would suck. Lucas must not allow this.

Found ou my pet mack passed away today while I was in work. Sad thing was I could not be there in his dying hour. he died of kidney disease and cancer. the vets could do nothing for him other than his mouth infection which had returned. i have a feeling dry food was to blame for this, although the vet said nothing about dentla hygiene or what we shd do. A year ago he was healthy. then in september until today, hew was seiing vet but with no treatment for kidneys. he was almost 9 yrs old. Rest in peace my friend. looks like I wont be gaming for a bit.
