dsawan posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hi, Is everyone still waiting for thirwire to release some tools to access aircraft folder and other files? I noticed some f-4 skins have been released and some mods. i cannot access plane folder via the old cat extractor. How does one access the aircraft folder to put these skins and mods in? I am still used to the old file structure. thx. -

dsawan replied to dsawan's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Ok, now i am confused. You say saved games folder, where is that. When I look at my SF2 folder under program files and go to sf2 , theres folder like core, terrain and other stuff but no aircraft or even saved games. Where exatcly is saved games folder when I have not even saved a game played. Can uou show maybe some screenshots to know where to go. i have sf 2installed on external hardrive. -

MF f-15A problem
dsawan posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hi, all. was playing with Mirage Factory f-15A in Woe and noticed that the rudders, flaps and back tails of the plane tend to move around rather than stay in position. is this normal or was there a fix for this. it just seems constant even when you dont turn. if you on autopilot or flying straight, it moves around. thx. -

Interesting to see them used by Greece and Turkey. Possible mod for a Turkish-Cypriot conflict for sfp1 or 2. http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_298.shtml -
F-102 Delta Dagger by Veltro2k
dsawan replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Bump! Just did not want this thread to go under. was reading about its Vietnam servicde. See here: [edit] Vietnam service The F-102 served in Vietnam, flying fighter patrols and serving as bomber escorts. A total of 15 aircraft were lost in Vietnam: one to air-to-air combat,[3] several to ground fire and the remainder to accidents. Initially, F-102 detachments began to be sent to bases in Southeast Asia in 1962, when radar contacts that were detected by ground radars were thought to possibly be North Vietnamese Il-28 "Beagle" bombers, which was considered a very credible threat during that time period. F-102s were sent to Thailand and other nearby countries to intercept these aircraft if they indeed threatened South Vietnam at any time. F-102As of the 509th FIS over Vietnam, November 1966.Later on, B-52 strikes, codenamed ARC LIGHT, were escorted by F-102s based in the theater. It was during one of these missions that an F-102 was shot down by a North Vietnamese MiG-21 using an AA-2 Atoll heat-seeking missile. The MiGs approached undetected, and one of the F-102s was shot down. The other F-102 pilot managed to shoot off some AIM-4s at the fleeing MiG-21s, but no hits were recorded. This was the only air-to-air loss for the F-102 during the Vietnam War. The F-102 became fairly heavily used in the air-to-ground role.[citation needed] The interceptor was equipped with 24 x 2.75-in FFARs in the fuselage bay doors, and these weapons were used to good effect against various types of North Vietnamese targets. Additionally, heat-seeking Falcon missiles used in conjunction with the F-102's nose-mounted IRST (Infrared Search & Track) were employed on night time harassment raids along the Ho Chi Minh trail. Operations with both the F-102A and TF-102A two-seater (which was used in a Forward Air Control role because its two seats and 2.75-in. rockets offered good versatility for the mission) in Vietnam until 1968 when all F-102 aircraft were sent back to the United States http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-102_Delta_Dagger -

the he-177 and hudson would be good for us ww2 prop lovers. he-177 was one plane theat Luftwaffe did not have a lot of as they did not place emphasis on strategic bombers. Always the tactical side. he-177 is a true anti-shipping bird. -

Smoke and fire effect for damaged ships?
dsawan replied to dsawan's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Interesting, I was thinking of the smoke and flame effect from CFS 2 where if you strafe or damage the ship, you have a fire and smoke effect while moving. Guess we have to wait for something like this in SF. -
