  1. Back in my AFSOC days, the original CV-22 was supposed to be armed with a retractable turret under the fuselage. For reasons unknown to me, it was not implemented. Another concept had the scanner windows armed with miniguns/.50cals like the MH-53s do. Now it appears that only the tail ramp has provisions for a weapon. Storm
  2. Thanks for the info S.E. I was thinking more of which skins are used and how they affect others with a stock install. So as long as you dont mess with the ini files, there shouldnt be any conflict using extra skins? Now to get my mic to work right, so I can use TS.
  3. Connected up with StreakEagle and another guy tonight. Flew a bit and am happy to be back online. What mods are you guys flying with, so that I can create another install for MP? Storm
  4. How do I get the login p/w and channel p/w?
  5. I'm getting Teamspeak D/L'd right now. Give me a few to figure it out. Storm
  6. Hey gents, I was asking Dave about some online play and I'm interested in joining up for some vFlight time. If you will take an USAF Boomer, that is. Maybe I can fly the KA-6D ;) Jeff
  7. Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement. I really appreciate it! Weasel Keeper, that is too funny. Yes it is a small world. I'm looking through my log, and I think I got to refuel your jet once, but no pictures. If there were any scratches, they didnt come from me. ;) I'll see if I can upload a few shots to the Gallery for calendars or whatever. Jeff
  8. Got home Thursday afternoon from my latest trip over the desert. We flew 35 times and I surpassed the 100th combat mission goal I had set for myself when I became a boom operator in '05. Well, today I figured I'd try and boot up the ol' dinosaur for a quick flight in FS2004 since I havent touched it in 3 months. I guess she is done for though, as I kept getting a blue error screen each time I'd try and run a program. Even a system restore would cause a crash. So, looks like I'm done for quite some time. I got a good 5 years of use from this one. Here are a few photos from the latest trip: Tornado GR.4 over Baghdad Indiana and Vermont ANG F-16Cs Misawa Samurai "BOB" "New" A-10C Gaggle of Warthogs headed home from OEF So what have I missed and will miss out on? Cheers! Jeff
  9. Yea, I tried them first and saw that everything on their site is way out of my price range. The USAF doesnt pay that well. I understand that periodic upgrading is the way to go, but my system is so old that it's not feasible to try and salvage anything from it. I'll keep looking around. Storm
  10. I'm an attack guy also. Especially if it's dual role capable. Being able to run in at low level and take out a target, then pop back up and mix it up with some fighters is a great mission. F-105s in any Vietnam campaign, F/A-18s or the A-10 for modern. Maybe even the Tornado over on the Euro side. Storm
  11. Holy crap, the prices are crazy now. My desktop is way behind the current standards (by 4 years) and have decided to start looking at a new system. I'm pricing something that I can game with, plus run and edit my photos in Photoshop CS2 instead of using my laptop all the time. Even a mid-range system is at least $2K. How do you guys afford upgrades and new systems every couple of years? Maybe I'll try selling blood?!? Storm

    Spotted an A-10

Slacker!! That is no excuse. A good photog always has his gear. ;) Caught this coming in yesterday and departing under some nasty weather this morning. VFA-32 Swordsman F/A-18F (166665 AC204) Storm
  13. Found the 4.08 patch at Ubi.com http://www.ubi.com/US/Downloads/Info.aspx?dlId=2176 Thanks! Storm
  14. I did the same thing, but I'm not 100% sure it has the Pe-2 or other payware add-ons. I'll have to hunt for the patch though. Was the Pe-2 the only payware aircraft added or did the later patches give a few more? Off to hunt for the 4.08 patch now. Storm
  15. Hey all, Just got home from another desert deployment and picked up the Luft 46 package as my welcome home gift. Is this ready to go or has there been a patch released for it already? How is the install? Pretty straight forward? I have everything up to point now, but figured an all in one set must be better and smaller. I plan on a complete fresh install as well. Thanks! Storm
  16. Problem solved. I didnt have the 8.30.06 patch. Was so dang tired, must have forgot it. Thanks for the help Dave! Jeff
  17. I've installed a fresh install of SF:P1 and patched it up the most current. It's located in a secondary internal hard drive. I've removed everything in it that I dont need, as I've created a Top Gun only installation with nothing but Adversary and USN aircraft. Everything was working fine last night, as I checked to ensure the game started after each time I added something new. However, when I went and updated each of the gundata and weaponsdata ini files, the flightsim.exe would not work any longer. It would simply go to a black screen briefly and then go back to the desktop. Sooo, something is defiantely not right with the editors. Because I could not get them to work properly, I had to place them in the main hard drive and map the ini files from there. Could that have something to do with it? I'm pretty frustrated at the moment as I spent 4 hours last night, getting everything loaded correctly. BTW, I am patched up to the current DX9 and have the d3dx9_28.dll in the folder just in case. 24. Those Nikes will ruin someone's day. Nice work gents! Storm
  25. I've heard of this happening from both RAF and USAFE pilots during my time at Ramstein. It does happen, but as USAFMTL said, the USAF isnt allowed to jump into a fight, due to safety restrictions. However, I'm sure that it does happen and not reported. I do remember back during my Combat Talon days and we were out over the Salt Lake ranges and we got jumped by a pair of Vipers from Hill AFB. Our EWO lit them up pretty quick and we were left alone for the rest of the mission. Lastly, beating a heavy F-15E isnt a huge feat. Especially if they dont know that it's "Fights On". Storm
