  1. Sorry, but the blue/grey does not blend in with the flight line. Our buildings are tan/brown, the concrete is a tan color, asphalt is black/grey. How about in Korea where they sure as hell have a definate threat and is in a green environment. What then? How about the Desert? Will we continue to be issued the standard DCU? If we had to defend a base, we wouldnt do it from the flightline. We would move to prepared positions in the treelines or under other concealment. I teach Combat Survival, and this uniform will not blend into the the forest regions we operate in. I like the pattern, but the color is way wrong! The AF is searching for something they can call their own. To establish some history. Unfortunetly they are looking in the wrong place with this uniform. As for people liking it. I dont know where you are getting this from, but here at Ramstein, where it will be put through it's testing, it's not being welcomed! Maybe the younger crowd, but the people with experience are saying no thanks. Storm P.S. I'm going to request that I test it here, to show them that it will not work in this environment, during my CST courses.
  2. Thanks for the new map Maj. How does the ai handle it? Are they shwacking themselves into the mountains or are they somewhat smart enough to fly around/over them? Storm
  3. Thanks for the looksee DK. Even if you are not "back", nice to see your hand in trying to fix things. Storm
  4. I D/Led your video. Next time you should try it in daylight, as you couldnt see a thing. Decent music though. Storm

Looks like you've got a pretty good hold on the Mod Eagle scheme. Although if you are wanting to fill any seams, you'll need to retouch those areas as after you sand, you'll lose some paint and detail. What markings are you going to put on it? Storm
  6. Initially the B-29s were used in daylight bombing raids, but suffered from heavy losses due to the heavy Air Defense of the NK, and MiGs. So they switched night ops. The NK also used search lights to bracket the bombers, and to reduce the glare and reflection, the B-29s sported field applied black camo on the bellies. There was a pretty good article in a recent issue of WINGS magazine. Storm
  7. Here's the Hoover launching a Mav. This was also done during Iraqi Freedom. As the Chief said though, the S-3 is a very capable bomb platform. Especially with some CBUs loaded on TERs. Storm
  8. And as it should be. The SA-2 had the visible pattern dug out of the terrain for the employment of the weapons. Nice job Dueces!! Storm
  9. Actually there were 21 MiG-29s bought from Moldova. 14 were of the Fulcrum-C variant, 6 Fulcrum-A, and a single UB trainer. In addition, over 500 Air to Air missiles were purchased in the deal. Currently, the UB sits at the front of the National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NAIC). The others were tested at Wright-Patterson AFB, where they were flown, torn apart, reassembled, and sent off for further testing. One the C-models is in the Nellis AFB's Threat Center as a display. I've been there twice now and was able to thoroughly go over it. Another was sent to Eglin AFB for weapons testing. Basically asa dummy to see the effects of our missiles against it, within certain parameters. The disposition of the others is a bit foggy. I was told from an Intel friend of mine who states that a few still exist in their complete form at Wright-Patt, while the others were indeed crated up for storage. As for starting up the Red Hat Aggressor unit with the Fulcrums, it wont happen. The Fulcrums are very expensive to maintain, even with the spares that were included in the deal. Why do you think the Germans got rid of them?!? However, when the F/A-22 arrives at Langley, the 71st FS will go to Nellis and become a dedicated Aggressor unit, flying the F-15Cs as Su-27 stand-ins. Storm
  10. Ya know, I'm sure those thoughts have gone through GWB's head a time or two. Oh how I'd love to hear him say it! Storm
  11. Dave, Yea, I've been flying your standard F-4E campaign. Doing pretty well. I've yet to D/L the Israeli campaign, but will do this weekend. I'm diggin' it!! Storm
  12. No, he posted a quick 3 worded reply over at SimHQ. Basically that he was working on SP2. Not much else. Storm
  13. NO THE 6 WASENT FORGOTTEN it his rendition of an F-8 crusader Hmmm, let's see?!?! Which aircraft does the above, most resemble?? F-86 SABRE or this one? F-8 CRUSADER Oh and by the way, on his page he even calls it an "F-8 Sabor". Storm
  14. I guess the guy left off the "6" in F-86. Nice Sabre anyways! For a MiG-15, he should use actual Red Bull cans. Storm
  15. It's an F-86. Look at the tail planes. They are low mounted, where as on the MiG-17, they were mounted high upon the vertical tail. Whomever did that though, really has some talent! Storm
  16. I'm diggin' that Fightin' Aardvarks skin. Storm
  17. "PLAY ON LINE WITH U GAYS???" ROFLMAO!!! I'm not poking fun at djmid, but that was too funny to pass up. Thanks for the great laugh! Good luck with the sim. Storm
  18. Yea, well at least I didnt cry about the status of the patch, and it not being released fast enough for me. Then do a public "I quit" notice at SimHq. Who is the moron now? Especially that it was released a week later. As I said, this board is full of friendly people.
  19. Look Ranger, if you want to ban me, then fine. But first off, my initial comment was as "creative critisism" (NOT A SLAM) after HE slammed on someone. I was just up this morning, browsing the boards when I read his post, and replied. So then, he didnt like it and TRIED to blast me. Being his friend, I'll understand you taking up for him. That's commendable, but do not look past his comments, because of that reason alone. As for my citizenship being handed to me??? I was born in the United States, California actually, and am now serving my Country as a Life Support Instructor in the USAF. Have been doing so for 11+ years now. Geez, this board is full of some very friendly folks. Storm
  20. Did you even read where I live? It was already morning time and I was at work on a quick break, browsing the boards. Let's see, so we are +6 from EST. Do the math, genius! yougster? Nice spelling. Or maybe you missed that course? What was the relevance of telling me your age and that you are retired from the service? Which service? Postal?? Hope you were not in the typing pool. Look, you want to slam on someone? Be prepared for it to happen back. I was nice about it in my last post, but not this time! Storm
  21. P.W. If it's 0118 where you live and on a school/work night, and you are still awake waiting on the patch, then who is the one who needs a life? "Those that live in glass houses, should not throw rocks". Not a slam, but some creative critisism. Storm
  22. I got my unit early this week and am really impressed. Even my wife thought it was cool. It did take some time to get it set up the way you want. I think I've got about 20 dots on my headset to maximize reflection. I have some glint tape from work, so I'll use that also, but my advice would be to purchase an additional sheet or two, as the bigger the reflectors, the better the unit will track your movements. All in all though, it reminds me alot of my flight in the Eagle, my head didnt stay stationary there either. I love to be able to watch where I'm turning and fighting. Storm
  23. You are at DM huh? Compass Calls from the 42nd ECS? I used to be Hurlburt Field working Talons, Pavelows and Pavehawks. At Ramstein now. Anyhoe, there are some great Herk prop sounds in Skunk Work's download section. Pinch's sounds are pretty good and the Herk sound is top notch: http://skunkworks.free.fr/pafiledb/pafiled...tion=file&id=11 Hope it helps. Storm
