Vulcan armed Navy Phantoms ? (WoV)
Crusader replied to thudg's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Perhaps you guys had a rebuild Mk 4 , where the Mk 11 cannon was replaced with the M-197 .. ? The GPU-2 is much smaller in diameter, its an entire different pod, no relation to the Mk 4. -
Vulcan armed Navy Phantoms ? (WoV)

MK 4 gun pod (with MK 11 cannon, always two-barrelled) was used by USN fighters only during one line period on Yankee Station for a test.. it was judged " worthless " ... too many problems, like unreliability, pod takes away the centerline fueltank which made it neccessary to use wingtanks which lead to spotting probs on the deck 'cause mounted wintanks are big and "stick out" thus taking much more space etc ... The MK 4 gun pod was used more frequently by land-based USMC squadrons on F-4 and A-4, which was going OK apparently, since there were no carrier-ops related troubles, but some reliability issues remained. Another user were the Black Ponies, flying OV-10A . They used the MK 4 pod fromthe centerline station, also reported reliability issues but the pod was great ....if it worked The three-barrelled pod, thats the GPU-2, with a M-197 20mm cannon, 300 rounds capacity and its battery powered. IOC was in the early 70's, iirc. ( 1972/73 or so) The SUU-16/23 pods with M-61 Vullcan cannon used all linkless feeds, and only the empty shell casing were ejected . During loading ( with linked ammo), the belt was run through a delinker which stripped the rounds off the links, moving them into the ammo drum The pods in the video are all SUU-16's -

system names numbering must be in sequence, e.g. : SystemName[018]=porkchop <---------- #18 SystemName[019]=ECM <---------------# 19 if it is interrupted, all stuff after the break in sequence wont be recognized, e.g. : SystemName[016]=porkchop <---------- #16 SystemName[019]=ECM <---------------# 19 check for that if you copy & paste your new entries , re-number your new entries to match the sequence -

Strike Fighters 2 patch is out
Crusader replied to DanW's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
You can keep the aircraft folder structure within the Decals Folder e.g. Decals\F-16A\HillGrey\D So after making the 2 new folders ( HillGrey folder inside F-16A folder in the Decals Folder) you move the D ( decals ) folder into the Hillgrey folder - no need to change names of decals. And creating a couple of new folders beats renaming the 100 decals or so of some add-on planes .. + reduces clutter in the Decals folder .. and no editing of any decals.ini files. -

In the Objects folder ( in your game mod directory) you can make a new folder, called " Pilots" . All add-on Pilots and Seat files can be moved into it. -

Dual missile rails will only jettision after the last missile is fired from it when you have jettisioned A2G stores . As long as you arent jettision A2G stores the rails will remain on the jet. -
Strike Fighters 2 Campaigns
Crusader replied to SkippyBing's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Campaigns folder, then make a new folder inside it and name it after the campaign , e.g. Campaign1 .. the campaign.ini has the same name as its folder, and usually the campaign_data.ini too... campaign1_data etc Hope this helps, I dont have the stuff unpacked thus cant tell for sure. -

cool... now a white tiger ... -
die slats.. das kam schon mit dem original WOI release .. ist irgendwas im code, TK weisss es, ist aber nicht so wichtig... die vögel sind ja auch zum fliegen da und net zum angucken wenn 'se auf der rwy stehn.. hehe
-
Nee, nix MF Greek AUP .. im moment. Die Cockpitbilder sind von 'nem anderen Spiel. Aber Kurnass 2000 ist geplant ...
-
yep, stop-gap measure until Eurofighter Typhoon is around in force.... I have ICE cockpit pics, but they are somewhere on one of 300 CDs or so.... and I have no index hehe
-
Uhrenladen.. genau.
