Viper Zero reborn
Derk replied to Dels's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Shouldn't be too much of a problem to remove the front cockpit framing Daniel (old trick with the F4 back from the days of SimQH).... EDIT: SORRY, stupid me, was under the impression that it was sopposed to be another F16.... (misunderstood the name "Zero Viper") Of course the cockpit framing is correct for the F2...... -
Vietnam Era MiG-21 top sea level speed?
Derk replied to GalmOne's topic in Military and General Aviation
... and don't forget the fact that the engine of the Zero could run on very lean mixtures without burning it's valves or pistons, the main reason it could stay aloft for such a long time..... -

Any recovery is VERY MUCH worth the effort, be it the enemy or the own side. Attended a presentation some years ago by Col. de Jong, CO of the RNlAF Recovery Unit. Amazing, moving, sometimes magical stories with splendid results, and always enormous relief by the families when te loved ones somehow return after so many years ......... And even today there are finds.... http://www.amsterdam...ilitary-history At this time the KLu Identification Unit is busy finding out who it was, and the soldier will probably be reunited with his comrades and be buried at the Oosterbeek War Cemetary. Right in my own village the remains of an 51 Sq RAF Halifax were located and a memorial stone was erected at the place of the crash, attended by the families of the crew and members of the squadron. Moving and very worthwhile !!!

Vietnam Era MiG-21 top sea level speed?

Like a "greased lightning" Michael ... ("gesmeerde bliksem" in Dutch, exactly the same) and Fallschirm is "valscherm"in Dutch, litterally the same as the German word. We do have a lot in common don't we ?? -
Guy must be cavalry, marrying a tank..... Edit: or he very much likes railroading and fell in love with a heavy goods locomotive.....

Well, great day over here. Near Den Helder, quite close (but not related to-) to the airshow over there an ultra light buried itself in a ditch and in the south near Eindhoven an L 39 , on its way back from the Den Helder airshow to Belgium, crashed. Crew ejected, no fatalities with the ultra light either..........

Brilliant Gr. Viper, and Erik: why should I Google P Mate ? Nature designed it as my standard equipment, including some extra interesting options that the P mate definitely does not have....

Well, maybe this is the point where the right in the US to posess a weapon might be really usefull...

Understood in the news that all them attacks are done by a relatively small number of people ( 200 to 300), well orchestrated and provided with all the stuff they need. The rest of the country is not interested at all. The gouvernments are not only VERY much to blame for not providing protection, a relatively simple job with the small number of protesters involved, but for damn sure their usually overdeveloped Secret Services know it all....... . And in every country in this world there is a sufficient number of fundamentalistic idiots that can be rallied for this sort of s**t, especially when it is aimed at the US or the West in general........

A speed camera at a Black Spot is OK, but over here they just mount them and/or hide them at random places where there is no safety risk with only ONE purpose: MONEY. Same goes for laser guns. And our police force is now bigger than the Army, Navy and Airforce combined........ And before I forget it: more than 95% of te cases of exceeding the speed limit is for 5 to 10kmh too fast.......

There was a discussion about relaunching old designs a long time ago over here and FC said the same. It is like a complete redesingn especially concerning the tools and the production line......
