OK, just a tiny little bit of whining / rivet counting: the last two in the row are our dear F100-PW220 engined F16A-Block 15 MLU 's, of which we sold 36 to our Chilean friends (with maybe more to come, because we have another 18 or so for sale as 311 Sq. was disbanded in the last round of cuts), so they are not even C models..... As for the projected C models, as far as I can see, I think the extended tailbase needs a lot of attention.... And: mind the number of rivets because you can count them on this pic (ha,ha) .... FOD damage or ingestion of a bird ? Saw it happening with an F16 couple of years ago, same effects (compressor stalls, big bangs etc etc.). Good that it happened on the runway, although with 2 engines....... the F 16 had to go round on marginal power, more compressor stalls, dropped tanks and only just made it..... Houdoe, Derk

Read the Wikipedia article about the movie. Think that, except for a number of inaccurasies, it was made very well for 1960, with a number of real ships involved (including HMS Vanguard for the 15 inch guns, HMS Victorious, cruisers and destroyers), real Swordfishes and a Catalina etc. etc. and quite accurate models. To me it made lasting impression, certainly at my age at that time, less than 20 years after the whole thing actually happened...... The Nat. Geographics thing is great and I have got as a book too. Bede 5, got the jet and the prop driven version in 1:72. They are absloutely dwarfed even by an NF5, let alone an F4, A10 or F15 ........ It would surely be a nice addition....... Houdoe, Derk

Do they have Spey's....... ? Otherwise the RAF sure wouldn't want to have them even if they were less powerfull...
