North Cape Terrain
Derk replied to Baltika's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Holy s...t !!!!!! This is it, fabulous, and what an incredible area, a huge expanse of land. Have criscrossed through Scandinavia, including the North Cape and Kirkeness up to the Russian border at Grenz Jakubselv, Norway, Sweden and Finland for something like 20.000 km in the '70's (heydays of the Cold War) and I love your new terrain. Will take a LOT of time to discover it all........ Thank you so much !!! Houdoe, Derk -

Spanish or whatever, you're a damn fine terrain builder for my money !!! What an effort for a first timer, I am a complete nono at this sort of thing. And remember: nothing is perfect.......... :good: Houdoe, Derk -

Impressive plane and amazingly agile for it's size. Saw it only once, back in 1977 when HM Queen Elizabeth had her 25 year jubilee and one of the supercarriers was in Southampton. For the International Air Tattoo at Greenham Commons the US Navy demonstrated the Prowler, Intruder, Corsair II, Viking and Tomcat, everything in the static display too + a Skywarrior. And for good measure the Aussies flew an A4 from HMAS Melbourne. Unforgettable, those were the days.... Houdoe, Derk

j-35 Draken SFP1 cockpit wip
Derk replied to ordway's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Maybe a trick like that helps for the engine instruments, i.e. placing something in front of them ? (amateur remark, but you never know....) Houdoe, Derk -
j-35 Draken SFP1 cockpit wip
Derk replied to ordway's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Nope, that's out of my scope. I agree with you Ordway, that the "frames" (whatever they may be, they are inside the cockpit and not part of the windscreen as far as I can see) are prominent enough . Though somewhat less visible I think the Fulcrum has something similar. But they differ so much from the rather heavy and curved F4 framing. ......, That's why I'd rather have them removed, but don't worry if you include them, because " the trick " has been revived and everyone can do what he likes. The second set of engine instruments is just as important .... Any progress on that ? At any rate thanks a lot for what you have done already !!! The radarless F 35 pit looks good too !!! And by the way: nice website about the Draken..... Houdoe, Derk -

Pfffft .... But one never knows with politicians: if for instance The Platform for Heterosexual Lesbiennes (a VERY pityfull and sad minority) must be subsidized, it might very well cost the Tornado it's head ....... Houdoe, Derk

Ha, ha, one of my old favourites in Royal Navy suit, reengined it with a Spey, put in some weight reduction because of that , and it is happily turning up in single missions ....... Great skin and great plane !!! Houdoe, Derk -
