  1. A beer to end all beers for SAC

....leading to the ultimate tactical weapon: the F-16A Beerfighter. To be used on Taliban and other fundamentalists, who, after being hit by the beer, spontaneously start killing each other because they smell after alcoholics...... Hou doe, Derk
  2. Great that our good friends of 32 Sq. Wolfhounds are not forgotte, the ONLY squadron with a royal crest in the whole USAF..... Hou doe, Derk
  3. Random Pic Time

Probably the phone call in the second clip is from the police officer in the first clip, telling him she is pregnant and wants alimony....... Hou doe, Derk
  4. Happy birthday HGBN!

Tillykke med din fodseldag Henrik !!!! Hou doe, Derk
  5. Danke vielmals Michael !! Hou doe, Derk
  6. See the post of Wrench in the knowledge base on creating a nation type F-104 G (in this case for the KLu). It contains adding an internal ECM set. Hou doe, Derk
  7. Saw it live, low level in LSK colours, near Bautzen, Hou doe, Derk
  8. It was Gocad's skin, June 22 2008, sorry I forgot about it, great job !!! Hou doe, Derk
  9. Except that I guess it would have been a horrible job to get the intake and rear end tuned to the Spey, resulting in drag issues. The Corsair looks quite different in that aspect and in the F4 there was lots of problems. Most probably high supersonic performance would have suffered compared to the J-57 engined original..... But sorry, this discussion doesn't belong in this thread, over and out. Hou doe, Derk
  10. Well, can't seem to find anymore who did the skin , many thanks to whoever made it ...... Anyway, remade it into a separate British Crusader out of the TMF F8J, putting in a Spey and making it slightly lighter. GREAT fighter!!!! Hou doe, Derk
  11. Some nice stuff on Youtube too. Pity that Ralph "Sheik" Aarts couldn't bring his Orange Lion Viper, it's stunning. Had to use a 306 Sq. F16 from Springfield/Ohio instead. Nice atmosphere. We used to have "American" airshows over here with the Ramstein Open Day and at Chievres, with American ice cream being flown in and barbecues and all other sorts of nice US stuff (and of course a lot of USAF and USAFE participants) .Those were the days....... Rather scarce nowadays, except 2 years ago at Leeuwarden when we had the West Coast F15E demo (with comment from a Dutch speaking American!) and of course the Blue Angels, fantastic !!!! Hou doe, Derk
  12. Happy Birthday Dagger

I second that !! Congrats Junior Derk
  13. Took a mixed flight of Spanish and French Mirage III E's on a runway busting mission to Neu Welzow AB. Got help of Spey powered 803 Sq. Royal Navy Crusaders FRS1 (thanks Spinners !) for air defence surpression...... In the middle of the Cold War in the seventies, as a student I was a "participating" (they even gave me an Uzi sub machine pistol...) guest with a big division sized Dutch Army excercise in N. Germany. After crossing the river Hünte south of Oldenburg, air power came in in the form of a couple of Royal Navy F-4K's attacking a some "enemy" Leopards down the road. They streaked over the field almost at eye level, flattening some of the corn (!) in their wake. Those Navy guys sure knew about low flying (and ground attack for that matter) We were flat on the ground too at any rate.... Hou doe, Derk
  14. Twenty years since the Berlin Wall came down.......... Congratulations to Germany and the world !!!!!!! Hou doe, Derk
  15. Thanks for not forgetting 1th generationers !!! Hou doe, Derk
  16. Some interesting Videos!

Guess so, but do you know where it was...... I drove along the BAB near Ahlhorn shortly after the excercises had taken place (don't remember if it was in ' 84) and the tire marks were still on the road. An F4 ruined its exhaust nozzles on the safety barrier between the lanes when it touched down a bit short....... The traces of that were also still there. Must have been expensive noises when it happened........ Hou doe, Derk
  17. Some interesting Videos!

Where took those Autobahn landings place, was it near Ahlhorn on BAB 29 or elsewhere ? Hou doe, Derk
  18. My Border Collies

    Adorable !! Hou doe, Derk
  19. Hey Veltro, Thanks for updating. It was and is a nice plane !! Just a few remarks (please don't consider it rivet counting or nitpicking) because I think it does make a difference and flies even better with the following suggestions. The exact figures are not that important but it makes a difference in weight of about 26 tonnes (and it is a bit more like the real life figures)..... - empty weight 14.500 kg (instead of 25.240 kg) - engines 2x Atar 9K50 of 49.030/70.610 kN (from the Mirage F1, instead of SNECMA M53-5 of 75.171/96.966 kN) - internal fuel 10.937 kg (instead of 36.730 kg, more than the real life total max. take off weight). I guess I'll be considered a whiner but it is really only meant as a positive contribution to the splendid job you've done increating this rare but beautiful bird , which was used as an advanced recce platform too until quite recently! Hou doe, Derk
  20. Nothing so nice as having a good smoke on the way home Hou doe, Derk
  21. How about some 90 J-47's (Soesterberg 1953) ....... (sorry for the quality of the pics) Hou doe, Derk
  22. There you go again Paul, do you ever sleep ? MLD Seahawks had AIM9-B's by the way in their careers ..... Beautiful stuff anyway !! If I can help you just say so, Hou doe, Derk
  23. And the wall came tumbling down.....

Hey, you're right Typhoid, always thought it was a sausage like the Frankfürter..... Hou doe, Derk
  24. And the wall came tumbling down.....

"All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Berlin. And therefore, as a free man, I take pride in the words 'Ich bin ein 'Berliner!'" - JFK Funny thing is that he actually said that he was a sausage (Ein "Berliner", a popular sausage) . He meant to state "Ich bin Berliner" meaning he felt like being from Berlin. The crowds forgave him....... Hou doe, Derk
  25. And the wall came tumbling down.....

Thank you for a couple of remarkable answers, showing that this forum has remarkable members. For years , hunting for steam locomotives, I had been looking from the West at the Iron Curtain border at many places. That was a grim experience on it's own. After having been in the former DDR itself (but not in Berlin) in the seventies for the same reason , the country left a lasting impression : somewhat unreal and very much like travelling back in time. The swastika had been changed for the commie symbols and that was that. But people were quite friendly and surprisingly open when no one was around, including SED party members. We were shadowed though, as one of my friends had ties with our military intelligence. In the months before the opening of the wall, the tension rose in the country with demonstrations in many cities that were brutally surpressed, but after the occurences in West German embassies in Prague and Budapest and the couple of changes in the gouvernement, the actual end of the Berlin Wall wasn't that much of a surprise anymore, although in the end everything happened very quickly. But I saw it live on television and emotional it was !! It was wittnessing the making of history........ For the record: the years after 1989 were fantastic: peace had broken out, and all the former enemy MiG's and Sukhoi's etc. were appearing at our airshows..... Had many interesting convesation with the crews and ground personnel !!! Hou doe, Derk
