  1. I'm working on a desert camo skin for the Il-28. You should just be able to delete Polak's tiles from the terrain folder. The campaign didn't come with any terrain tiles, so there's nothing that you over-wrote.
  2. I have seen that 2 or 3 times. I changed their default loadouts, so they're heavier now. This is Kreelin's latest FM, but it was done prior to the game having the ability to specify AI data for a particular aircraft type. I'll add those entries, and play around with the values to see if I can keep it from happening. The Su-17's occasionally have the same issue. Thanks for the input.
  3. The air to ground radar not working is a current limitation of the game. In order for the HUD to work, you have to live without the radar. This is something that will hopefully be changed, within the game itself, soon.
  4. Well if SimHq is the measuring stick, SF must be dead also.
  5. What's an F-35?????? I've never heard of it. :) I'll post some info tonight, when I get a sec.
  6. That was just a photo-op. There are no static aircraft on the Nimitz in the campaign.
  7. 9 times out of 10 the README will tell you if a seperate install is required. As you get use to the guts of the game, drop everything into a temp folder and see what files the campaign changes, and you can judge for yourself. I ask for a seperate install because it cuts down on the questions/problems people encounter. For example, for the Harrier Campaign, the three things keeping you from installing into your regular Strike Fighters install is: - You would need to install the weapons pack first, to take care of the weapon attachment types on the stock AC - The changes I made to the desert terrain would break the stock SF campaign, because some airfields were removed - I included an edited Nations.ini file, that could break other campaigns if the changes weren't manually merged
  8. It's a known issue, that seems to have a greater chance of occuring the longer the mission duration. I use ALT+N as soon as I go feet-wet, and that tends to keep it from happening.
  9. It won't break anything. I believe Polak's hi-rez tiles remove the stock trees. I placed several trees as 3d objects around one of the harrier bases. These will still be there, and may look a little out of place on his tiles, but that's the only potential issue.
  10. I'm fairly sure I have kreelin's last update included in the campaign, but ya never know...
  11. CA, it looks like MoonJumper/Crusader/I change my name on different forums to confuse the Russians, did it this way intentionally. What's probably causing the biggest hit on your system is the Runway7-11.tga's. Try resizing them to something smaller.
  12. Thanks guys. There's a lot of other stuff I wanted to do with this, like make the red side flyable in the campaign, but with a new patch on the horizion, I figured I would have to put out an update anyways, so I'll add the rest then.
  13. I just uploaded this here. It should be available shortly.
  14. But there's still several of us that wish you would.
  15. I do not believe the terrain's movement.ini has any effect on a campaign, other than the location of the front line. It only has to do with single missions. CAS missions in the campaign are soley based on the StrategicNodes. It's been said that you'll never get Armed Recon missions in campaigns. I myself have never been given one. If it is/did work, I don't know if the campaign engine would get the locations from the strategic nodes, or for the movement.ini. I have the same question for anti-shipping missions. I'll post over at thirdwire and ask TK to verify.
  16. To fix the locations of your CAS battles, see the Knowledge Base stickie about strategic nodes.
  17. If anyone is interested, I can describe the two primary simulator types we use, that are considered "high fidelity". First is the Handeling Qualities sim. It's purpose is to refine and evaluate the real flight control laws (CLAW) before they go out to the aircraft. The primary sim host is a 24 cpu SGI, and it uses all 24 cpu's. The gear model alone uses 3. The cockpit displays and HMD run on a 2 cpu linux box, and the P&W engine model has it's own linux box as well. There are several Windows computers that run the visual scene. There are a few variations of the HQ sim. One is a motion base sim, where most of the CLAW testing is done. Others have the real aircraft computers in the loop, with the purpose of testing them. There's also one that is connected to a large room were all the aircraft actuators are laid out. As you fly, the CLAW is moving them as it would on the aircraft. These sims have nothing tactical, no weapon releases, no targets to shoot down. I've been told the X-35 was the first fly-by-wire aircraft whose CLAW worked well enough out of the sim, that no changes had to be made to it during flight test. The second is the Manned Tactical Sim. They run on a 12 cpu SGI, but each cockpit has many linux and windows pc's running various weapon flyout models and sensor models. We run a scalled down version of the real CLAW, with several limitiations. We can't land, can't fly STOVL, can't air refuel.... There are many cockpits linked together to fly COOP missions. There are some manned RED aircraft, but most of the "world" comes from an entity generator model that has high fidelity bad guys and pretty good AI. The point of this is for the customer to develop it's real-world CONOP's for the aircraft. What Typhoid flew was probably a trainer, which would basically be a HQ and MTS sim combined. If you actually read all that, you did way better than my wife ever can.
  18. I don't agree if you're talking current day. But I guess if you don't know what you're missing, it's good enough.
  19. I would vote for the "new". Looking forward to your tiles.
  20. It would be worth it to post this question over at Thirdwire's as well. TK may be able to tell you if that is not implented yet. In the campaigns I've written, I've never upgraded a squadron's aircraft. Some of the default WOV campaigns do have aircraft upgrades, if you want another example to look at. Do you know if it works in the Burning Sands campaign?
  21. Are those tanks in your weapons_data.ini & weapons_data.dat? Are those the tanks specified in the F-105's _data.ini? Are the .lod's and .bmp's for those tanks in the Weapons folder? Make sure they're spelled exactly the same everywhere.
  22. I... am a Michigan Wolverines fan...

    Can we stickie this?
