Like I say a difficult one this, my heavily modded both FE2 and My SF2 sometimes crash to the Taskbar click on the icon on the taskbar and game will load and then crash to the taskbar not all the time just sometimes. I just reboot Windows 10 and most times it's ok. I have tried various setting in the games graphics, Running Windows 10, Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB card, 12GB Ram, Intel core i5-4690K CPU, 2 SSD Hard drives PC will run anything have no problems with any other game (seem to only flay FE2 or SF2 ). Hard one this it seems it's the game it runs fine when it runs no stuttering or any other problems only the Crash to the Taskbar, so any one any ideas thanks?

In outside view I have a black thin line from the plane to the ground in my SF2 WW2 install, any ideas any one ?

Thank you for your welcome, a little about me I am in my late 70s and have enjoyed many combat sims over many years but have always had FE on my PC from XP, Windows 7 and now Windows 10. Can I give a plug for VonS on the FE forum and many others that have helped made a old man very happy thanks what a great world flight sims are thank you to all that have contributed to making it so. Speech over off to bed or just one more flight.

Hi Wrench changing the ObjectsFade to FALSE made a big difference looks much better. Can I ask you what is the highest settings for the graphics I can set to is there any point in the unlimited also the horizon distance setting. My monitor runs 2560X1080 Res and that is the setting I have in SF2 setup, the planes do look a little stretched but I can live with that as I fly in cockpit mode. Thank you for your help I have other questions but for the time being will leave to the above.

I have FE2 and played it for years and enjoy it it is modded and has great terrains and planes. So why am I here well for the first time I installed SF2 Europe and SF2 NA as I do not like jets I wanted a WW2 Europe theater I took the jets out, so now I and have installed many mods like the BOB Terrain and the updated Germany Terrain my problem is none of the terrains come any way close to what I have in FE2 they have very little trees building's ect all graphic settings are on at least high am I missing something I know SF2 is a old sim so I maybe expecting to much. What came first FE2 or SF2 Can anyone tell me please how can I stop the trees popping up in the updated Germany terrain, this do's not happen in my FE2 install.

How can I stop the Zeppelins all bunching up there were 5 of them is it poss can i just have one.

I have found so many decals in the ini pointing to the wrong folder have got some of them sorted, I noticed the DecalMaxLOD= can be 3 or 4 or 5 in some cases I just leave them alone. Thank you guys for your help, this FE2 would put a lot of new flyers off pity it was not poss to upload a Aircraft and decals folders with the say Western front planes in them.

With the decals do I just put the D folder in the appropriate plane decals folder or do I take the texture folders out of the D folder and put them in the folder ? Hope I have explained ok.

Just a quick one I have just flown a quick mission in FE2 with the Hanriot HD1 and another mission with the Voisin / Armed reconnaissance mission/August 1917 and I the nearest target were ships any ideas guys?

Wow many thanks VonS, I have not got round to doing it yet but will do. Yes you made a great job of the Ai. I have being with FE2 for so long Windows XP / Windows 7 and now Windows 10 they don't make em like they used to thanks mate.

I have set up a Front just devoted to Italy WW1, I was hooked on the Italy and Caporetto terrains so with VonS WONDERFUL tweaked flight models and realism pack. I downloaded nearly all the WW1 planes in VonS Italy folder can't find the AviatkD1 / AviatkD1 230 / Voisin 3120 no problem I can live without them. Also on the I think it is the Caporetto map the telegraph post are solid looks like a graphic problem on my side any way I am enjoying FE2 so much. So a very big THANK YOU to you all that contributed to this great sim you have made an old man very happy, (one last thing don't tell anyone I have IL2 Flying Circus and at the moment it is not half as much fun as FE2 WW1 Italy)

I have moved over the save games fe2 from my old install that I saved while running Windows 7 in the Windows 10 save games /FE2 folder and works just great, thank you again for your help. For anyone reading this and are contemplating moving to Windows 10 in my opinion it is better than my old Windows 7 and I never thought I would say that.

Have FE2 running seems ok now just have the STD no mods yet thank VonS.

Well FE2 will not run on my Windows 10 64bit tried all I know, so good night to FE2 it was nice to have known you.

Well I put it off for so long and took the plung only had it for some two weeks it works so much better than W7. The plus side is it is for the future, you will think it is just a revamped Windows 7. One thing I would say is DO back up your W7 stuff, Windows 10 will install and leave your Windows 7 and call if Windows 7 old. I could go on for ever in a nutshell I do not regret going to Windows 10. One last thing if I can live with it and work it ok and I am in my mid 70s any one can.

I have just moved to Windows 10 and I have some older games (old friends) installed and running OK CFS2 and Crimson Skies the first game I had on a PC AND il2 with HFX runs OK may I add I do not run these game much but do like to know they are there. When I get time I will try Janes WW2 (in my opinion one of the best WW2 of all time given when it was made). Windows 10 just great after running Windows 7 for so long.
