Gr.Viper replied to Wraith27's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Look at Standard ARM data - it goes up.. and up.. and up. There must be something there. -

problems with download page
Gr.Viper replied to KingAlbert's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
It's being worked on http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=29094 -
1. Go to http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=1723.0 2. Get the download in the first post Start and play. Plane design is generated and depends on the name (any word or words) you type in before takeoff. For example Gr.Viper Fates (hehe Actually can make nice jumps out of atmosphere but you lose rudder control in space) Richthofen (note dual poweplant - prop and jet booster) Voss (hardly flies, but it's a tripe) And there's also a local high-score table registering all kinds of weird records Small bug: Spacebar isn't actually randomiser (it's done via name input) - it flips plane over.
-
No wonder - in those planes they tended to keep all the heavy stuff close, so pilot would sit on, below or right behind the fuel tank And wood + fabric +oil build isn't the best environment for putting out a fire. In one of the documentaries (IIRC, flying coffins) they even caught on camera a case of minor spontaneous combustion on a replica DR.I in flight.

Everyone's nervously waiting for patches that might/must ruin FMs... Maybe it's time for some attention to the ground? This listening post can make a nice radar
-
Then the rocket would simply fall down after launch. If you could take off with the extra weight of 8 IR seekers.
-
Well the text below the pic says that experienced listeners could determine type, distance and altitude of the aircraft. Bearing was read from the scale on the device which was pointed at the sound source. Worked even at night and in cloudy weather when visual contact was impossible. Although the sound waves get affected by wind so position might be not precise. So, yeah, it's SCIENCE

Throw in a century egg to finish them off
-
Just ship some real F-22 to China and in a couple of years you will have a dirt-cheap version ready.
-
In Bleriot your hand with the pistol is actually a gunner (aims by itself but shoots on pressing fire). In Taube you have a guy in front who can either shoot forward or stand and fire backwards if you press G. I asked once how to force gunner to aim at something in particular (I wanted ground targets) and the answer is to switch to his position with F7 and then I think take control of him with F6, press one of the keys to target stuff you need and then go back to pilot's seat and take control of pilot. If you can't figure out time compression (me too) then fly training missions - all sorts of dogfights, bombing and strafing missions there not far from start points.

Soviet pre emptive strike to counter "Barbarossa"
Gr.Viper replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Heh... people from Britain and India support Eastern Front campaign. Nice! Now to hear from someone from the US as it is firmly believed here in Russia that the whole USA thinks if was they who won the entire WW2. -
Carriers
Gr.Viper replied to Wraith27's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
AFAIK, you can't destroy "landable" carriers. BTW, has anyone tried creating an airbase, placing it onto water, giving it one airfield with the shape of a carrier and registering stuff on deck and several ships aroud it as base buildings? -
Oh, the last one is with the S-Boot mod. Gotta try it. Later...

Sanitarium. Second chapter in which a small town has been "invaded" by some plant-like alien who killed all the adults, adopted the children and started altering their bodies to bring them closer to some perfect plant form. Oh, and Blackstone Chronicles too... Half of the game is an interactive museum of the methods people actually used to treat psychic disorders at the beginning of the XX century Nah, I shouldn't go out more. Wherever I go I haunt people with morbid humour, sarcasm and cynicism and apathy. And if I'm really depressed I can infect people with bad mood even over IRC. But watching Dead Man or Apocalypse Now Redux usually makes me feel much better I love happy endings Wow! We have a neat smiley!

kreelin, have you fugured out the weapon lock problem? TK mentioned on TW forum that there also is a g-lock apart from master arm. -
RB1 had a great "tell a story-design a mission" menu.. I had tons of CTDs on Eindecker in upgraded RB3D, then crashed, spent several months in hospital, missed the time my Jasta was flying Halberstadt and came back to get into Alb D.I. Much less frequent CTD but oil leaks on D.I and D.II up to november 1916 were awful.

Here's the vid of this Avro with gun mount. Brilliant device. avromount.zip

FS-WWI Plane Pack 5 Public Beta Bug Listing
Gr.Viper replied to ArgonV's topic in WWI Flight Sim Discussion
Hmmm... I'm getting bombs occasionally going bouncy-bouncy off the ground but I'm not sure if it is the game itself or the dual core CPU which gives frequent errors in older games. I'll try later forcing the game to run on single core. -

I haven't got a close up pics. Only the video of the whole process of lowering-reloading-raising while on the ground from "4 Years of Thunder". This comes from a short section where they were talking about various planes serving in Palestine. It also shows I think the same Avro - with no idea what on its nose Moska's good

Well... There's an  disk image  somewhere in the web that has both FS:SDOE and FS:WW1 package and allows installing WW1 without any fuss with installing then cleaning up SDOE. But you didn't hear it from me
