  1. If someone tells you, games teach how to commit crimes, show them this
  2. Game sales

Since I'm half-arsedly tracking various sales, might as well start occasionally posting some fun deals here. Most of the time IsThereAnyDeal is enough to spot something, however there are exceptions. http://www.indieroyale.com/ Launch Bundle. Gets you 4 games for a dynamic price which is about $2$5 at the moment (wow, did it climb fast). One of the games, Nimbus, seems like something you might get for kids. Ares is a platformer, Gemini Rue is a point and click adventure, and Sanctum is a FPS/tower defense hybrid.
  3. Game sales

Humble Voxatron Debut now also has bonus Gish and 3 earlier games from Voxatron developer. 2nd Indie Royale bundle is up after a shaky start http://www.indieroyale.com/ Includes Scoregasm - arena shooter Night Sky - a dreamy platformer from a guy who specialises in dreamy platformers. Ben There, Dan That + Time, Gentlemen, Please! - 2 nice point 'n' click adventure games in zany LucasArts style. Get them! Fate of the World (+Tipping Point if you download the installer from the bundle page) - ecologically aware strategy game. Hard, but interesting and educational.
  4. Combat-Helo guys had a blog post about that recently. Said something about the on-board remote controls for UAV.
  5. Am I reading this wrong?

My first thought was to calculate the ratio.
  6. Youtube

Napoleon mod? I should watch more videos of that. The slaughter on both sides is spectacular. Well, that's TW in general.
  7. Game sales

Humble Voxatron Debunt now includes the Binding of Isaac and Blocks That Matter (with respective soundtracks) for the people who pay more than the average. In other news, GamersGate is holding a sale on Total War games. The original Shogun for $4, Medieval 2 for less than $3, Rome Complete for about $6. Here
  8. This will be the first proper release in SF2 series. Not a remake, not an expansion. We don't have a prayer.
  9. Report it to TK with every little detail. Maybe he'll patch something, enable Mavericks without adding anything to the pit. Oh, wait...
  10. Game sales

Humble Voxatron Bundle Debut. Pay what you want for an early version of the game you most likely have never heard of. Or give to charity and see the game as a bonus. The game IS kinda cute though.
  11. Battlefield 3

SP-wise? Take the enemy AI at least to F.E.A.R. (1) level, that is give them the ability to logically move from cover to cover, avoid obvious deathtraps, and navigate the level to corner the player and attack from different directions without scripting. Learn level design and make something rivaling at least Wolfenstein in "explorability" instead of colon-shaped "cinematic" levels, which are closer to rail shooters. Use 3rd dimension more than putting enemies on balconies. Stop the multiplatform crap and design PC gameplay to be challenging with mouse aiming instead of gamepad joysticks, which make it hard to hit a barn door. Give back the movement speed and lose the eternal slowmo. It's all been done before, but it's simply a better investment to railroad the gameplay and rely on pumping money in the moving pictures which don't need a creative designer spark.
  12. Battlefield 3

    Anything new since BF2?
  13. Battlefield 3

After three dozen mods had made the game balanced, varied and interesting
  14. On the next run after you install a DLC (or a patch) the game resets all the stock ini's. If you want to keep them, hide them in a different folder until the update storm passes and then copy them back.
  15. Game sales

Oh, some scary stuff! Until the end of Halloween weekend Frictional Games offer Penumbra Collection and Amnesia: The Dark Descent for very tempting prices. Windows, Mac and Linux versions.
  16. You take them - you lose them. Maybe with the exception of gun pods.
  17. Game sales

BigFishGames offer a new user sale NEW50 (1 game 50% off) code, NEW299 (1 game for 2.99) code, and a SPOOKY(50% off a purchase) code Halloween sale. Also new users get a free trial of Game Club with another discount (doesn't stack with spooky). Apart from casual stuff they have point & click adventures including a few indie titles.
  18. Normal still seems to give tons to play with. On Limited you can run out of the best stuff if you waste it, flying in large crowds. I ran out of all AIM-7s once in SF2E campaign. That was thrilling, considering that AIM-9L were also gone and F-15 without them is a sorry sight. However we were resupplied later.
  19. AI difficulty adjusts the ratio of good/bad pilots in your and enemy forces. Hard - more enemy aces, stupid wingmen. Easy - the other way round. AI always flies using intermediate Normal FM. You can pick Easy or Hard FM for yourself but the AI is locked to normal. Campaign difficulty affect the impact of you successes and failures on the general progress, IIRC. I haven't touched that setting in years, normal seems fine. Try a different angle of approach or use missiles.
  20. You haven't seen real waste have you? http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-H3SOVM/hearts-of-iron-3-soviet-music-pack
  21. IIRC, SF2V has ROE on somewhere deep in the settings. ROE meaning AI won't fire BVR at unidentified reds.
  22. Congrats, you've beaten TK to a forum announcement :) Oh, I like the price of this one. Oh, yes I do.
  23. No, there's no ground lock on the radar in SF2 so far. Using E you can cycle between tanks, AAA, ships and your primary target of a strike mission. You can't target a random warehouse or other buildings.
