New US Stealth Transport Troop Helicopter?
Gr.Viper replied to Silverbolt's topic in Military and General Aviation
Oh, Deus Ex choppers are real now. -
Steam was born on PC, it's used to that from day one, I bet. PSN was hiding behind the "unhackable" console and like most things sony does nowadays was half-arsed.

This weeks Ho Lee Crap moment
Gr.Viper replied to ONETINSOLDIER's topic in Military and General Aviation
Word is, their control system went nuts and assumed that every control input (at least on ailerons and elevator) was an external influence e.g. wind and tried to correct against it. They had to adapt and land using only engines and rudder. Started right on take off actually Some pics http://photo.qip.ru/users/neustaf.fotoplenka/151028556/ -
So, they pissed of both the US and the UK governments? http://nexus404.com/Blog/2011/04/29/playstation-network-update-congress/ http://nexus404.com/Blog/2011/04/29/psn-outage-net-sony-uk-fine/

And of course !!!! Anyway... 50 years of humans falling back onto the planet and constantly missing. That's a good day! Especially for my granny who's been mesmerized with space for decades, worked as a director of a planetarium and met quite a few cosmonauts and now old as hell rocket scientists.

The final frontier... -
Junkers J.I if we're talking attack plane with steel load-bearing armour. Although Junkers D.I was the first full-metal fighter. There was also Albatros J.I made of wood, but with armor plating in vital areas. Most remarkably one of its experimental variants carried a down-sideways firing 20mm auto cannon on a slightly flexible mount. AC-130 has a long lineage.

At least you can use those. Wait for them to take a page from Valve's handbook and start selling scarves and gloves for pilots.

Guys, WW1 was the time when variable pitch blades, remote-controlled drones, high altitude equipment and a ton of other stuff were first tested. Junkers got a full-metal armored attack plane shipped and even managed to get his steel prototypes airborne. The French stuffed a 37mm cannon through a fighter engine, the Brits and the Germans toyed with 20mm automatic. The sights pictured could have also been used, but most likely were one-in-a-million rare and useless for the rotary planes which were spewing oil from the engine.

Can anyone explain, without using penis euphemisms, what the heck exactly is happening your side of the Atlantic?
-
After service revolvers and ammo, I presume.

Can the user downclock the CPU to original values to increase the immersion?

Officer shot dead on board submarine HMS Astute

It seems the sea doesn't take kindly to sub's attempts at perfection: top-notch hardware suffers from crew failure. -
Two silly questions
Gr.Viper replied to Emp_Palpatine's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
The AI err.. cheats? I've seen a Hunter get rid of a massive wing fuel tank fire. Although you can fight engine fires. Default Ctrl+I switches off all your engines. Shortly after that the engine fire dies and you can try to switch them back on at low RPM. Sometimes the fire doesn't come back quite as fast, once on P-51D I was able to go back to full power without going ablaze again, but most likely the engine with start flaming and then the tanks follow, and that's where you hit the silk. Wish TK introduced single engine switch to make A-10 more survivable. -
So, they stuffed standard netbook hardware in the old box and called it the return? Meh. *reaches for the phone* I call bulls**t. Although, if it's a netbook mobo then at least the CPU, sound and video are hardwired into it, so "except for the motherboard" leaves mainly the stickers on keyboard to be US-made.

Here's something very similar, short and clickable http://amanita-design.net/osada/ Features a ton of stereotypical American stuff

I stopped carrying the phone close to body many years ago after realizing that I was able to predict incoming call/message by sudden rhythmical muscle twitching.

AIM-4 performance
Gr.Viper replied to PraetorH's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Multiply the stock AIM-4 firing time by twenty, remove growl. To increase immersion pretend that pressing the button is RL initialization of launch procedure and add a prolonged cussing sample for the entire duration, preferably ending with "f*ing finally! Hey, where did those f*s go?". -
Oh, those cheeky 737s and their detachable roof... How many times has this happened already?
