  1. The fading is not the problem, it's the sticking of the sound in faded/idle pitch state even on return to pit that is one.
  2. Since you mentioned sound... Does anyone have engine sound pitch reset to default on moving around in external cam and returning to the pit? Proper pitch is brought back by minor throttle input. That seems common with the map sound sticking in off state, although I haven't heard that one yet.
  3. If it's a mod-related bug thread, won't it fit more in the modders' subforum?
  4. Does ZSU-57-2 taking about 5 minutes to bag one A-4B flying solo at a clear noon slow, steady and level well within range count as a bug? Not 1 ZSU-57-2, I'm talking about 154 of them, excellent skill setting. AI cannot use retarded bombs in low quantities. They release them like simple ones and undershoot. Only dumping long salvos allows them to hit targets with the last bombs. Speaking of bombs, there's something going on with strategic level bombers. Lately I haven't seen them hitting their targets. Formations of B-52, Tu-16, Tu-22 often release their payload a little too early failing to hit even the airfields.
  5. Stary, is that a feature request list? Play with AA setting for SF2 in your graphics driver control panel. Don't remember whether you need it higher or lower, but in my case it was the AA adjustment that fixed it. Anyways, if anyone wants bugs I'll give you a few If memory serves, an order given to Flight One (i.e. the second pair of the first four) also affects your wingman since he is technically a part of the first four. That is noticable only if you give a general order, the one that can be given both to other flights and Two. An fine example would be "Break". The only order that's not affected is RTB, since there were numerous complaints about this one back at WoI release time. If a navy flight is placed on a carrier in the mission editor and the plane type is then switched to a ground-based plane, the mission starts with the planes already in flight. However if the player switches the plane on the loadout screen, the mission starts "normally" on deck. Heavily damaged player's plane causes the game freeze on engaging warp drive. Also, destroyed but not yet crashed wingmen planes get warped into their positions in formation. Last time I tired, it was possible to run into a situation when the player running a Merc campaign can't assign another pilot to the flight because they're out of planes, but they can't buy a plane because the purchase happens only when you switch plane type of an already assigned pilot. SA-2 lauches missiles at weird angles up to and including ~90° off the bearing to the target moving away from the site, which is not only impossible for the hardware but also doesn't make any sense. Lofted profile of stock HARM makes it highly unlikely to hit anything. Removing lofted flag restores accuracy.
  6. Hmm.. if it's mod-only can't really add anything.. Does Z-buffer fighting affect anyone? Wasn't tree/cloud/smoke/flames explained by TK at some point? Someithng along the lines of either the game runs calculations for several layers of sprite objects or the engine has to take every single tree and smoke puff into account.
  7. With vsync on the moment your fps goes below 60, sync forces it to 30. http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=928593
  8. Surprisingly good gaming...

Oh, there will be problems. Atom is a hyperthreading CPU, which makes Windows see it as 2-cores. Thief 1, 2 as well as System Shock 2 (without fan patch package) will randomly freeze on such a machine. Unless you do some voodoo or apply a trick for a single-core launch (I used WinLauncherXP) the games are virtually unplayable. Runs under XP on a similar config with only maybe compatibility mode on. Controls with keyboard rather well.
  9. Surprisingly good gaming...

Try looking for the .mtx file of the game itself. It's a renamed zip archive with the full game inside, which if unpacked can be run even without that downloader/torrent thingie of theirs. If you install Java RTE on the laptop it will neatly run FreeCiv and FreeCol (Civilization 2 and Colonization clones).
  10. Surprisingly good gaming...

FC, why not get a decent analog gamepad and try MiG Alley on the lil beast? Or Hind? Or the second B-17? The now-free Mechawrrior 4 Mercenaries could run as well with low graphics settings. So should most games released before 2003 and some of the modern well-coded free stuff like Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe. Also: Garden Gnome Carnage. Because why not. Shouldn't stutter too much http://www.remar.se/daniel/ggc.php
  11. Surprisingly good gaming...

It becomes even more awesome if 1GB RAM is replaced by 2.
  12. Abandoned on Mt Everest

Sod Eurocopter, for a flyby I'd use Lama http://www.aviastar.org/helicopters_eng/snias_lama.php
  13. Somebody does read it! If the plane has no internal laser or a laser pod the only target they may attack with an LGB is the primary target of Strike missions. The game sort of assumes that the target is lased by special forces on the ground nearby. Since the engine does not support torpedoes or radar guided weapons I suppose the modded torp works like an EO bomb, AGM, LGB. When using these weapons you have to get a visual lock on the target with the "E" key.
  14. Abandoned on Mt Everest

Could be fun to make a slow pass near the top on a helo.
  15. It wouldn't make much of a headline if it said "Old as s**t Russian prop-driven patrol planes manage to make it to the navy exercise"
  16. You could always ask TK for a tweak. Although I bet he'll say that the stock night plane list is too limited for the campaings to function properly with the limiter on. Then you remind him of 101 flavours of MiG he added recently, the joys of seeing only certain planes go bump in the night and the fun of knowing every night squadron the other side on the line by name. As for day_only PF, the radar is not yet the entire instrument flight package.
  17. Math Class

Could be a splat on the concrete
  18. Okay, can anyone understand the following?

    Give them Dvorak.
  19. TRON, Tron 2.0, Tron Legacy

Monolith made Blood 1, the Evil Dead 3 of gaming. Not to mention the awesome AI of FEAR 1, later completely wasted in F2. NOLF games were quite fun too, and also a good display of what Lithtech could really do instead of low poly garbage other developers used it for. I hate the way Tron Evolution wasted the original style (movie seems to look similar). Tron imitated the then rare and rad vector graphics quite well, had a distinct look. Now so many movies use CGI and look game-like, that a few neon lights won't give the wow! effect. They should've turned the characters into 8-bit sprites
  20. TRON, Tron 2.0, Tron Legacy

The TRON: Evolution game supposed to provide some story link between the original and the new movies is out. And sucks. Controls are annoying (at least on the PC), gameplay's unoriginal (cycles grid? bah! have some tank driving!) and the visuals look like they lifted them off Star Wars. Non-canon TRON 2.0 wipes the floor with that garbage single handed.
  21. I think, the only thing you need to do is go to SF2E's W7's Saved Games folder and remove controls.ini from there. The game will regenerate on launch.
  22. Waaait a minute... Did flyables count in stock all-merged just hit a hundred?
  23. COD Black Ops

Isn't Zork the best thing in BO?
  24. Dave, press "Add new ground object group" when the map in centered (i.e. the black crosshair) on the sea. Then the editor creates a ship group instead of tanks. Then you pick a ship of yor liking.
