Not to stop NATO but to give them a good headache. Apparentrly our MoD even issued a special medal for those who took part in the operation.

LookDown/Ground Clutter modelled for SF2E Radars?

Stay low and SARHM won't be a problem even when you deal with Floggers. -
Flight meaning?
Gr.Viper replied to Pilot94's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Actually in TW sims it's a bit weird You: 1-1 Wingman: 1-2 Flight one: 1-1 to 1-4 Flight two: 2-1 to 2-4 Flight three: 3-1 to 3-4 Flight four: 4-1 to 4-4 That causes some serious inconvenience 'cause wingman is a part of flight #1 so he follows orders given to him and to some of those given to flight #1. -
Well, the sharks don't have the ability to exterminate the whole human population (the only flaw in their evolution), so wiping them out isn't quite fair. I'm not sure the switch to lawyers and politicians will come right after sharks.

Can't remember if we have Nighthawk in a museum. That F-4 piece dates back to 1970.

The state of Russian air museums is nothing fancy even as far as out own planes are concerned. Not to mention the lack of aviation promotion. IIRC, we're facing a shortage of all kinds of civilian pilots including those trained for ailiners. Even the military are under cuts - the Kubinka airbase is handed over to friggin buisiness jets for administration convenience. I don't know if "intelligence" is even a word they know. Another reason for low trophy count might be SAM efficiency. We just can't put the plane back together after we hit it. http://i.flamber.ru/files/st2/1211922554/1246295020_f.jpg

sf2 patch
Gr.Viper replied to Darrin's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
You can check your current version in the lower right (I think) corner of the main menu screen and see if you need patching. -
Эмм... при виде из кабины текстуры земли периодически пропадают по периметру, да? Есть такое у некоторых (и меня). TK уже сообщили, вроде чинит. Ждем еще патча.

You know, he said nothing new would be included in SF2 remakes.

Two different Controllers and the mouse wheel ......

Found the updated exe at SimHQ - got the X-52 pro and pedals to work, without the throttle so far. -
Two different Controllers and the mouse wheel ......

Hmmm... that 2-stick thing would be really useful. Is it something for the next release? BTW how's screen tearing fix progressing? -
The Double D's
Gr.Viper replied to hgbn's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
You know, you can take "getting serious" thing outside the cockpit. If you regard the player always being the flight leader as command's whim you can add more role-playing details. Like forbidding the player to alter loadouts of other pilots... Maybe allow it only if they have lower rank. No more tons of Shrikes on flight two. Or forbid fiddling with squadron list, adding more planes to the flight, deliberately picking an ace wingman etc until the player's pilot reaches a certain rank. In can be even extended to e.g allow their use only for the highest rank. I bet you can balance it better to make a young pilot all sweat, and turn multiple war veterans into Airmen of the Apocalypse. -
IIRC, you can tweak axis setup in eech.ini, but as for keys custom joystick profile is your only help. I bound a ton of functions on my X-52 for EECH and it seemed to work out pretty well.

You know that interesting relationship/rivalry between USAF and USN... Well, you can see it in full power in SF2V. An F-4D and an F-4J (my wingman) pushing each other aside trying to score the only Fishbed left in the area. Both are too close for missiles so it was a guns-only chase. I thought "OK, this is gonna be fun" put my plane on auto and watched those two. After some bursts and a lot of turns and both planes leading the chase for a while they finally did it. And how. First the burst from F-4J set the Fishbed on fire and half a second later a burst from F-4D comes from above and hits the already burning plane. -
NOV 2009-B Patch for Wings Over Israel 2 out
Gr.Viper replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
i.e. all gear, flaps, hook, brakes, visual lock messages are gone :) PITA for some planes that don't have a backup indicator on the instrument panel. -
NOV 2009-B Patch for Wings Over Israel 2 out
Gr.Viper replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
TK did some job on comm splicing. I've heard "Break, he's firing!" and "He's firing!" without "a missile". -
There nothing new there, 'cause it's "developed" by people who only know how to code graphics and net code. If you want gameplay improvements you want fan modded EECH.
-
Battle of Britain, IIRC. Mig Alley also had that global menu showing ops, supplies etc. Red Baron 2/3D. Doh.. yeah. Enemy Engaged. Don't go for EE2 though.

Or hypothetical Cuba? -
So, they'll get every plane and soldier carrying compact lasers, and the other side will order a shipment of hand mirrors... Or those U-shaped tubes, you know, like in Spaceballs.
