SF2NA: Problem in terrain masking for radar evasion?
Gr.Viper replied to PureBlue's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Or SAM radars hard locked from looking down, just like the flak. Even before TK dumbed down CAG defenses and made Kiev strikes piss easy, staying low would keep you out of any trouble, even on P-51. -
Bad News? Don't know if anyone noticed this....

Since when does TK do what others do? -
I think, the reviewer I linked to above mentions the release year. Something from the 70s Turkish cinema.

He keeps the floaty sight for those, who fly with the cockpit turned off. Basically, TK's trying to make HUD usable for both arcade and sim playing style with minimal effort... which means, that the HUD looks like barely tolerable placeholder by modern arcade standards, and remains all sorts of goofy and inconvenient, when you try to get serious. -
A review of the entire movie, the scene comes from, by the one and only Cinema Snob http://thecinemasnob.com/2012/10/11/karate-girl.aspx

Anything interesting about this variant, or is it just "another F-4"? -
It.. exists? And it's been going on for 5 years? http://news.sciencemag.org/sciencenow/2012/10/dance-your-phd-finalists-announc.html Follow the link to watch people dance "Deuterium retention in tungsten", "Side reactions in lithium-ion batteries" and, I s**t you not, "Evolution of nanostructural architecture in 7000 series aluminium alloys during strengthening by age-hardening and severe plastic deformation"

I'm completely confused, what period they aim to cover.

Apparently, they had an online vote and the people have spoken. The hero of Russian web memes, the one who makes grumpy cat look the happiest cat in the world Manul, the furriest cat ever http://en.wikipedia....allas's_cat Welcome, b*****s A smile for the camera

And the reason for drug laws being so much stricter than booze laws is...? http://rt.com/news/moscow-drunk-driver-bus-760/

One third of all votes were for either the adult or the kitten. The spieces got popular recently, thanks to demotivators featuring this.. beast... and a caption "Pet the kitty!". A little hedgehog and a polar bear cub, some fox and a tiger stood no chance against such fierce competition. Also, manul's face has been the zoo's logo for some time http://www.moscowzoo.ru/img/logo.jpg Now they're going to make manul-shaped merchandise.

Red Tails... and the Stars and Stripes

Someone, who cared, made the planes, someone, who didn't, put the flag up, the one, who supervised both, is overpaid. -
Source, high rez, put in on somebody's desktop when they're not looking http://webdiscover.ru/v/113012 Now, you might think, a house cat is aggressive when it tries to snatch the food from your hand... http://youtu.be/-UD6YJopqeI

'Passive radar' could render stealth planes obsolete
Gr.Viper replied to Brain32's topic in Military and General Aviation
With the number of comm and nav sattelites hanging up there, a widely spread grid could turn out quite accurate in determining contact position going just by the interference with their signals. The old ways, i.e. hugging the terrain, will probably remain the best for penetration no matter what tech. Could be fun to couple this system with sound-activated AA mines. -

Could be just as cheap to flood the area with inexpensive sensors. -

Awesome, it's like those sea bed microphones only dryer. -
Meh, maybe just a PR trick to get the fans extra rabid and compassionate.

How good is the simulation of the guns in SF/WoX games?
Gr.Viper replied to thodouras95's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yeah, that's the way to fly those Skyhawks with ghetto-rigged ECM and 20 rounds per gun. -

Nah, what you need is a piece of string tied around the display, so that it forms a cross dead in the centre. It worked a century ago, why not now... -

Tried multimple times with stock F-4E. The calculated poit simply lies. Going by a solid radar lock gives me a 100% chance of undershooting a target flying same bearing, speed and altitude just a little ahead of me. -
Anything coming out? I hope so
Gr.Viper replied to macelena's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Meshes don't bend in SF2... Pretty much all game vehicles look too solid after RoR. Things deform exactly where you hit them, if you drive into a tree the car will wrap around it, excessive stress twists wings. It's crazy.
