  1. Nice TSR skins...guess I could be in trouble soon.
  2. TK has added nation-specific number decals for several WP states, that's why there are now more silver skins for the MiGs in SF2. The nationname in the Texture.ini is actually not that important, since an aircraft's nationality is actually determined by the Nationname used in the aircraft_data. See this stock SF2 F-4F? The nationname given in the Texture set is still WGermany, but I had changed the nationname in the data.ini to USAF. It has now American insignia, but does also use the German decal numbers...which makes sense, since that's how the decal.ini set up. What I'm trying to say is this, you can use the same skin for several nations, but it won't make any difference in a random single mission, since AFAIK an aircraft can't have more than one nationality (Unless NATIONNAME has the same flexibility as ATTACHMENTTYPE). If you want two different nations flying the same aircraft, then you have to go a bit further and create nation-specific copies of that plane.
  3. Show off your Desktop!

    Here's another turkey.
  4. J-10

The real question is whether BVR combat would actually work as intended during a real conflict.
  5. Anyone Watching "The Pacific"

Like I said above, it's probably the same reason why Region Codes were introduced for DVDs. TV series like "The Pacific" cost a lot of money to make, so HBO does count on international distribution. But it's kinda hard to sell a series when you have already made it available around the world for free. And I would say that the language barrier (although I might be biased here) isn't really that much of an issue anymore.
  6. Anyone Watching "The Pacific"

I guess TV series are much harder to sell abroad when they are made available for free after the initial broadcast in the country where they have been made. Kinda shows you what a small world Earth has become thanks to the interweb.
  7. It still is. Btw, I don't feel motivated at the moment to even think about finishing another Crusader...
  8. It's for the F-8D made by the gunfighter's team...the precursor of the MF F-8.
  9. Vehicle use is random. You can make the Merkava show up by either a) place them on a terrain (that would require some editing of the terrain_targets/types file) or b) use them in a campaign with ground units or finally c) adjust the availability of the Merkava and other tanks/APCs. The last two options also require that you play a CAS mission.
  10. RAAF woes...

Is it just me or these deficiencies only brought up to prove once again how bad "the government" has failed? I know that this might a minority opinion here, but I'm pretty tired of all those "OMG! We don't have as many planes/tanks/ships/whatever available like x 10, 20, etc years ago" calls. Prove me wrong, but I'm pretty convinced that in 9.5 out of 10 cases such reports are made for a number reasons, but definitely not because someone is thinking about the nation's safety or the much quoted "warfighter's needs" (I really can't stand this phrase, mostly because of the circumstances when it's used)....
  11. To be honest it's hard to give a definite answer here. Truth is there are some prop FMs that work just fine in SF2, but there are also those that shouldn't be used with any post 06 SF1 version, which might be a bit of a problem nowadays, because while the older patches are still available at Thirdwire, new SF1 versions (from the TW online store) are updated to the latest version and as far as I know it's not possible to remove those updates.
  12. Good luck getting a dozen (modern) fighters and the support package at that price. Even the Russian aircraft aren't that cheap anymore.
  13. There isn't an endless supply of MiGs. Once they're gone, they're gone...for awhile. And there's no point chasing MiGs when there aren't any, don't you agree? Seriously, it all boils down to the initial inventory, the losses during the campaign (it's dynamic) and the aircraft replacement rate (which is set in the campaign_data) The North Vietnamese don't have that many MiGs to begin with and it's defined that the replacement is quite slow. Besides, MiG encounters were actually quite rare anyway, so flying escort or strike missions without seeing a MiG isn't that far off anyway.
  14. Pretty cool, but the important question would be...how many working AA guns?
  15. I wonder how many have pointed out that this isn't a video of said incident, but just an audio recording spiced up with some stock footage.
  16. SF1 series TMF F-4G SF2 series TMF F-4G
  17. TRON, Tron 2.0, Tron Legacy

I think it's just Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner reprising their roles here.
  18. You could make it work with SF2, but only after some serious editing (which would require a certain amount of knowledge and time....lots of it)
  19. One should wonder though how long Boeing will need to put a real flying prototype together though...and how much it will cost in the end. Seems like that's not so easy these days with all major military aircraft projects....on either side of the ocean
  20. I think that's unlikely, since the whole pack (i.e models & avionics) was designed for SF2.
  21. It's part of the F-15 Superpack (SF2 only, though)
  22. 110000ft? That's all? I ejected once at 2000000ft....
