  1. You don't. That's why some mods (like NF4 for example) kinda need a separate install. Or you do you have just one SF install?
  2. Guns & rockets....and a Crusader, that's all I need.

  5. Return of the Falklands

It sounds to me that the oil drilling is in its early stages, so commercial use seems still a bit away. But one should keep in mind that the oil price kinda affects which oil fields are profitable to use. It should be remembered that when the oil price rose up 100 $ some time ago a lot of of new oil fields were suddenly "discovered". In fact most of the fields were already known, but only after the rise of the price per barrel it became profitable to make use of them. It could probably be the same for the Falklands. (Not to mention that it wouldn't make that much a difference whether you have to send you tankers all the way down to the Falklands as compared to the route to the oil producers in the Middle East... )
  6. I still think it's a weapondata issue, since it does sound to me that you can only load the stock weapons, but not any of the 3rd party weapons you added. When was your weapondata.DAT file changed last? (It should be inside your Weapons folder)
  7. Testing skin in SF2 Got to admit though that I still prefer the old folder structure.

  11. My first SF2 flight... business as usual
  12. So you did add the various weapons to the weapondata.ini and then saved it with the weaponeditor? Because it does sound like your problem has less to do with the aircraft, but rather with the weapons itself.
  13. Flight Simmers and their books

Somebody said Osprey? And this is waiting in the mail for me I really need to restrain myself from not buying more (And I have a few other books as well, of course)
  14. Pretty nice ship you got there. Any plans to do a Sovremenny class destroyer as well?
  15. "I enjoy the sight of humans on their knees." EDI > skynet
  16. Full steam? Hardly. There is no doubt that UCAVs will play a greater role in the future, but in the end they will be still flown by humans. I guess it's fair to say that the technology still isn't there to build an aircraft that could strike targets on its own. That would be a strange sight anyway....imagine someone with a map standing in front of the optical sensor of an aircraft and saying something like "Get there, strike that target and be back before 6 pm or else".
  17. Since when do the Reaper operators have to abide the three laws of robotics?
  18. You will one of the programs that have been mentioned above, patience and some time. There are quite a few templates available in the d/l section. Taking a look at them with help you with your own projects, because even if you want to skin something else they would give you an idea why layers are important for templates.
  19. I guess it's fair to say that most AI pilots suffer from the Stormtrooper syndrome.
  20. Boba Fett deserves better death than this

I think the problem here is that Boba Fett wasn't the character he is now when they made RotJ. The scream when Boba hits the barge is pretty silly though.
  21. Missiles are always tricky. It seems to me that the order of preference for the AI when it comes to Air to Mud work is: bombs > guns > ARMs > AGM. And it seems that they have no clue what EOGB/LGBs are. Gunning down AAA sites was far more common in the 60s/70s than it is today, and back then the US aircraft often more than 1 gun. Even with TK slowly creeping towards the present the AI is probably still designed with air operations in 60s in mind. And I doubt he will change that, after all the focus of most simulations is on the flashy air-to-air combat and not the tedious ground support role.
  22. One of my favorite books is "On Yankee Station" by John B. Nichols and Barrett Tillman. Too bad that it seems to be out of print now, but it's good overview on the air operations conducted during the Vietnam War (from the US Navy perspective, of course). You may also notice that Nichols was flying the Crusader (and bagged a MiG with it) pretty much until the end of the war, but I can live with that. Guess I got lucky when I got it over a year ago, as it now seems to be out of print....like a few other of Tillman's books.
  23. Nice skins....and an interesting question. I could tell you that the colors used probably are Tan FS 30219, Dark Green FS 34102 and Olive Green FS 34079. (Color chart) But to be honest, given that you already have done three different versions of that skin I would recommend that you just pick the one you like best, since using the colors I mentioned must not necessarily mean that the finished skin would look like you envisioned it. Just saying.
