  1. I totally forgot that the game would do that. Instead of sorting the weaponstations from small to large weapons I should have done it vice versa: [bombBay - Lg bombs] x4 SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=1 StationGroupID=1 StationType=INTERNAL AttachmentPosition=0.0,0.0,0.0 AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 LoadLimit=20000.0 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,EOGB,NUC AttachmentType=USAF NumWeapons=4 (Total number would be 16) AttachmentPosition001=X,Y,Z ... AttachmentPosition004=X,Y,Z DiameterLimit=0.47 LengthLimit=3.76 ... [bombBay - CBU] x 4 SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=2 StationGroupID=1 StationType=INTERNAL AttachmentPosition=0.0,0.0,0.0 AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 LoadLimit=20000.0 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB AttachmentType=USAF NumWeapons=5 (another 20 mounts for the CBUs) AttachmentPosition001=X,Y,Z ... AttachmentPosition005=X,Y,Z DiameterLimit=0.44 LengthLimit=2.35 ... [bombBay - Mk82] x4 SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=3 StationGroupID=1 StationType=INTERNAL AttachmentPosition=0.0,0.0,0.0 AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 LoadLimit=20000.0 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB AttachmentType=USAF NumWeapons=11 (...and finally 44 mounts for the Mk82 only) AttachmentPosition001=X,Y,Z ... AttachmentPosition011=X,Y,Z DiameterLimit=0.26 LengthLimit=2.2 ... That would ensure that you have the proper amount of attachment points, i.e. no more than 80 Mk82s can be loaded, but I would dread the task to figure out the respective attachment positions...
  2. First of all... Creating multiple instances of a bomb bay, each configured for a different weapon type (an EOGB station, a BOMB station, etc. each with its own parameters regarding weapon restrictions) is possible and shouldn't be much of a problem to do. This should serve as an example, unless I totally missed what you're actually asking for: [bombBay1-Mk82] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=1 StationGroupID=1 StationType=INTERNAL AttachmentPosition=0.0,0.0,0.0 AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 LoadLimit=20000.0 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB AttachmentType=USAF NumWeapons=20 AttachmentPosition001=X,Y,Z ... AttachmentPosition020=X,Y,Z DiameterLimit=0.26 LengthLimit=2.2 ... [bombBay1-CBU] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=2 StationGroupID=1 StationType=INTERNAL AttachmentPosition=0.0,0.0,0.0 AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 LoadLimit=20000.0 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB AttachmentType=USAF NumWeapons=9 AttachmentPosition001=X,Y,Z ... AttachmentPosition009=X,Y,Z DiameterLimit=0.44 LengthLimit=2.35 ... [bombBay1-Mk84 & JDAM] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=3 StationGroupID=1 StationType=INTERNAL AttachmentPosition=0.0,0.0,0.0 AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 LoadLimit=20000.0 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,EOGB AttachmentType=USAF NumWeapons=4 AttachmentPosition001=X,Y,Z ... AttachmentPosition004=X,Y,Z DiameterLimit=0.47 LengthLimit=3.76 ... [bombBay1-NUC] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=4 StationGroupID=1 StationType=INTERNAL AttachmentPosition=0.0,0.0,0.0 AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 LoadLimit=20000.0 AllowedWeaponClass=NUC AttachmentType=USAF NumWeapons=4 AttachmentPosition001=X,Y,Z ... AttachmentPosition020=X,Y,Z DiameterLimit=0.44 LengthLimit=3.61 [bombBay2-Mk82] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=5 StationGroupID=2 ... etc. But based on what I know I do doubt that there is a way around the fact that there can be only one predefined loadout per mission type (i.e. STRIKE, ATTACK, etc.) Btw, bear in mind that an aircraft loaded with smart bombs (EOGB & LGB) won't be of much use as an AI strike aircraft.
  3. There are times when I wish they wouldn't... If you think that they do not fire at you, check the Log after the mission.
  4. Geo did add a dead pilot figure to his Bearcat model, which shows up once the aircraft is shot down. Yeah, I know it's not the same, but it is something...
  5. Once you know how to do "it" you start to ask yourself why you even bother to load up AAMs.
  6. Yeah. This sounds a lot better than the stuff I have come up with. Thanks.
  7. Good to know that VMF-112 is in good hands... I look forward to the release of those skins. I guess it's actually a rather trivial reason why I haven't finished that DC scheme yet...I have no idea how to get VC-5's checkerboard pattern right ... after spending hours on figuring out how to paint the top fuselage area between the wings using trial & error method I don't want to know how many hours it would take me to do that checkerboard pattern...
  8. Hmm, why I do keep thinking that there is basically everything wrong with this skin...and it has nothing to with the intake section (funny thing is that the texture fits both the B and E/J model). Does anybody know whether VMF-112 did operate the D-model at all. I've read some conflicting info on that on that subject. Speaking of not making much progress... I just can't make up my mind whether to turn this into a VC-5 skin (they had a checkerboard pattern applied to the VertTail of their Crusaders) or another VC unit that used Crusaders as Drone controllers. Yeah, I'm fishing for some opinions here...
  9. Responding to the initial question I would say that actually you don't need an aircraft with a MFD to drop LGBs (i.e. Paveway bombs) or fire EOGRs (Maverick missiles). You could even drop LGBs without having a laser designator mounted, but you could only attack primary targets that way. Observe! A stock WOE AV-8A carrying GBU-12 Paveway bombs and AGM-65 Maverick missiles I've selected the Maverick. Notice that the TV display turns up in the upper right corner, although the AV-8 pit doesn't a MFD. I'm approaching the target and select the Paveway. No TV screen now since I do not carry a laser designator. I'm also not flying directly towards the primary target. Bomb away. Even without the designator the GBU-12 has changed course and glides towards the target. BAM! Target hit, but a wingman is shot down...damn! Look Ma, no LP!

  11. File Name: Luftwaffe Eurofighter production scheme for craigbrierley's EF-2000 Typhoon File Submitter: Gocad File Submitted: 11 Apr 2008 File Category: Modern Era Aircraft Luftwaffe Eurofighter production scheme for craigbrierley's EF-2000 Typhoon --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I know that Craig's Typhoon already came with a Luftwaffe skin, but in my opinion it did not have enough individual aircraft number decals. So I made a few and while I was at it I decided to give it a slightly different paint job as well. Thanks to craigbrierly for his fantastic Typhoon and sundowner for his impressive template! Installation instructions -------------------------- Extract the contents of the rar file named 'Lw' into a TEMP folder. Read the text file for further instructions. Legal stuff ------------ 1. The work may not be used in payware projects or in projects that will not be freely distributed under these same terms. 2. You must give proper credit in your readme file. 3. If feasible, include the original readme along with your new mod. Additional notes: ------------------ This skin comes in a 1024x1024 resolution. Should there be any demand for a mega-rez (aka 4096x4096) version, let me know. If there are any questions regarding this skin (or its installation) feel free to PM me at combatace. 12. In the readme there are three units (or just one if you're using WOE) listed that need to be added for the squadronlist. Each unit in the squadronlist is assigned a number. (The whole procedure assumes that the squadronlist.in has been extracted from the MissionData.cat (is inside the Flight directory) and been placed in your PilotData directory.) Let's take JG 73 as example, it's the second unit mentioned in the readme: [squadronBxx] Name=JG73 DisplayName=JG 73 'Steinhoff' Nation=WGermany would become in the squadronlist [squadron666] <- just a number I have made up, but it should be a consecutive number, meaning that there are already 665 entries in your squadronlist. Name=JG73 DisplayName=JG 73 'Steinhoff' Nation=WGermany Now that you know which number is assigned to that squadron you can search for the tga file named JGpatchBxx and rename it to JGpatch666. Once you have done that you can select JG 73 and the respective squadron batch will show up on the Typhoon's vertical tail. I hope this helps somehow.
  13. I would say that both loadouts you mentioned could be done by editing the loadout.ini and adding IRMs to the InnerWingStations. EDIT: Did a quick test, came up with this: FYI: the Sparrow stations are split up into two stationgroups, so I merged them into one and split up the Sidewinder stations instead. Unfortunately I do think that the Sidewinder rails cannot be split up, so even when you carry an IRM on the inner side of the inner wing station the rails will show up on both sides... Btw, the StationGroups are only important for the loadout screen, they do not affect the loadout.ini
  14. IMHO there is one problem left: There is no category for Typhoon skins in the d/l section. Quo vadis, Luftwaffe Eurofighter production scheme?
  15. twin-engined jet question

The P-80s sent to Europe in late 1944 were actually just four pre-production aircraft and did not participate in any kind of combat operation. They were rather used as demonstrators for the units deployed there.

  18. That's all you need. Thanks Sundowner! Luftwaffe Eurofighter production scheme (sans decals, yes it's a WIP)
  19. More Museum Stuff

Thanks for the interesting pics. Btw, What's the aircraft in the picture above that of the F-101? It looks like a B-57, but's it's apparently a single-seater...
  20. IIRC the MF weapons packs contain only those weapons used by MF aircraft, including those that have no been released yet (Hello FA-18D tank! ). Nor have they all the country-specific weapons found in bunyap's pack. But the MF weapons look a lot better (what a surprise!)
  21. I'd rather have the M-4 Bison than a one of a kind prototype...but that's just me.
