  1. Well, I found a decal set (actually just a high-rez image of it) that allowed me to create a proper tailcode for VFP-206.
  2. The AI pilots are able to use ARM missiles like the Shrike or HARM, so in theory it could be possible to sink ships with missiles as long as they pretend to be a floating SAM site. Of course, this idea needs to be tested first, preferrably with on a Blue Sea map and a stand-alone install. But it seems to me that this kind of workaround is not what some are looking for here...
  3. You can add screen shots to your post as an attachment. Just like I did. Besides, any campaign can edited to include additional types of aircrafts...and it's not that difficult at all.
  4. Say what? IMHO the best Corsair model available. I have to admit, though, that it took me awhile to get used to its prop animation... It makes flying (and not to mention air-to-mud work) at low speeds a bit tricky. Also, could somebody explain to me why this magnificent aircraft (and its French relative, the F4U-7) isn't uploaded here at Combatace?
  5. I replied to two different questions there. My remark about the pit file had nothing to do with the TER/MER racks. Drop sequence of the racks and the ripple quantity/intervals are not related at all.
  6. I finally figured out which colors I should use for the textures: Well, I guess that's it...for now. There are of course some details that could be improved, the TPS scheme isn't 100% correct, but for the time being it will have to do. I always wanted to have a Crusader with a low-viz paint job and here it is.
  7. Kuznetsov

Good pics. That Frogfoot is probably one of those two seat models the Russian Navy uses for training purposes.
  8. Thanks. I'm still trying to get this scheme right and I guess that's still a long way to go. Anyone see any differences between these two? (It's not the missing rescue marking. I simply forgot to add that layer. D'oh!)
  9. Thanks. Looking forward to these screens. No doubt they will look better than this: Well, at least the decal positions seem to be alright. Also, who came up with the design of VFP-206's tailcode? That design drives me crazy...
  10. Arrrgh, those decals drive me nuts. I don't know what's worse, their color or their positions... But I guess were it not for C5's templates I would have never got that far to bitch about them in the first place. EDIT: One more. I think the decal color is okay now, but I'll probably have to do some of the decals again. WIP or not, that's one good looking skin. Well, at least in my opinion. And yes, I'm well aware that the reserve VFP squadrons did not fly any fighter versions with such a color scheme. Lalalala, I'm not listening.
  11. Yeah. They even made a big-time Hollywood film about it.
  12. I guess that's another reason why the insignia are painted on the skins...and not placed on the model through the decal.ini And before anybody asks, that's not a new skin. It can be found on Paul Nortness' site and has been there for quite some time. Since it was made for the Gunfighter's model it didn't take much work to adapt it for the MF version. All I had to do was change the Node names in the decal.ini. (The fin decal on the other hand belongs to the WOV Crusader's VF-84 skin. I'm still working on this position.) Anyway, it seems to me that it seems impossible to place a decal on the refuel pod door. Or is there a workaround I haven't thought of yet?
  13. That's a great pack, Cork. Btw, who's doing VMFA-122, 323 and 333? After all, the WOV Crusader has some extra unit decals that are in fact not needed for the campaigns.
  14. I agree. Using guided missiles is not that challenging here, since I'm not aware of that the game engine does understand the concept of missile defence anyway. Not to mention the problems with those intercept missions... Just to make this clear, I'm really interested in this blue water operations project, but I'm rather thinking of the WWII era here. Who would not be interested in 'fake' carrier battles ala Coral Sea or Midway of Convoy defense missions using CAMs and MACs against shore based attackers?
  15. Just a stupid question: Would it change anything if those stationary ships are labeled as 'STATIC_AAA'? Because that's the typical target the AI wingmen tend to engage when tasked with air to mud....
  16. Was it a stock (read: WOV) carrier or a third party carrier?
  17. Congrats Sparky! You have taken the interservice rivalry to a new level.
  18. IMHO such a terrain would be great and a 'must have' addon for the SFP1/WOV/WOE series. And it should have plenty of carrier stations...
  19. You'll find the P-38 in WOLF257's aircraft pack.
  20. It does. Another rather unimportant issue solved. I hope C5 doesn't mind that I messed around with his skin. Also, excellcent skins, Cork.
  21. Looks like bucklehead was right about the nose VF51 on a F-8D. VF111 skin on a F-8E. Notice that the hump between the wings isn't textured. But I do think that this should be fixable, as long as the creators of the skins don't mind and one really needs to transfer a skin to another Crusader version.
  22. I'm not sure whether the nose is the problem, but the hump of F-8E caused some glitches when you put a skin made for the F-8D on it...at least that was the case with previous Crusader versions. Also, I really like the F-8J. It looks perfect.
