  1. The main problem with such a campaign would be that between 1940 (after the BoB was over) and 1943 there wasn't much going on in the skies over western Europe. Most of the German units were sent east or to Italy/Northern Africa (there were just two Luftwaffe units left on the western front) and the bulk of USAAF units didn't arrive until 1943.
  2. Nah, those were just pics of the new C/D Hornets. Two more weeks, right?
  3. The Russians Are Coming!

You do know that the Russians are aware of the concept called 'Cruise Missile'.
  4. I would not be surprised if that has something to do with the introdcution of those new subcategories in the Cold War section. Nice work, btw. Any chance that the same will be done with the WWII planes?
  5. The Russians Are Coming!

You think Ivan is planning to grab the Arabian oil fields? But seriously, I stand to what I have posted previously. Russia may be recovering, but they are still lightyears away from having the military capablities the might have had during the Cold War era. Putin is keen to play the 'strong Russia' card and underscore that they want to be global power once again, but their military simply is not up to this. These flights are just a show to demonstrate their own people: "Look, our mighty bombers take to the sky and everyone in the West panics." But I doubt that this is the case. It's not like the Russians have done something nobody was prepared for.
  6. You should also check if there is a diameter limit for the weapon station. Some Sidewinder stations have them and they are usually set to match the diameter of the Sidewinder. But the AMRAAM is slightly wider. An example (from the MF F/A-18): [LeftOuterWingStation4] //SUU-63 Pylon with LAU-115A/A SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=11 StationGroupID=2 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition=-3.092,-1.7,-0.727 AttachmentAngles=0.0,-1.0,-90.0 LoadLimit=2600 DiameterLimit=0.3 <- I have changed this value to be able to load up an AMRAAM here AllowedWeaponClass=IRM,AHM AttachmentType=NATO,USN ModelNodeName=LeftOuterPyl02 PylonMass=91.4 PylonDragArea=0.03 LaunchRailNodeName= But in most cases adding 'AHM' should do it, especially for modern American jets.
  7. The Russians Are Coming!

I fail to see what's the big deal with this. If the Russians want to burn some fuel over international airspace, let'em do it. If it makes them them happy, feel more important, or else, so be it. Or is it still considered a miracle if the Russians manage to get their birds airborne?
  8. Nuclear Ops...or Ooops?

From the article: It was originally reported that five nuclear warheads were transported, but officers who tipped Military Times to the incident who have asked to remain anonymous since they are not authorized to discuss the incident, have since updated that number to six. I guess somebody should look up what 'not authorized' means.
  9. Yeah, I guess that is what Rockwell's designers hoped for. Stupid reality.
  10. IMHO it's just another version of the same story Chavez has been playing since he has come into power. In fact it's the same story every dictator is using to rally the people to support him. You attempt to create unity within your group (or society) by identifying an enemy outside your group (usually that's the US). It seems to me that Venezuela isn't big enough for him as seems to consider himself to be the spokesperson for entire South America. Maybe I'm wrong about this but I don't think that the inhabitants were all to pleased in 1982 when the Argentian troops appeared on their island. But perhaps this was English propaganda, too. Who knows?
  11. You mean something like this? The Koni class frigate (made by capun) can sure put up a defense...not that it did do them any good, but it looked nice.
  12. There is no big deal in changing the .ini files. You can open them with notepad or some other text editor, make your changes and save them. And that's it. Looking at the post above this one I would have three questions: a) Is this unit really the first USAF unit? b) Is "666FW" present in your Squadron_list? If not, replace 'Squadron=' with 'UnitName=' c) Is "USAFtng1" really the name of the F-15C skin folder?
  13. Hmm, not quite. The Luftwaffe had simply no need for the MiG-21s and Su-22 of the former East German airforce. The only aircraft that were taken over into regular service were the few MiG-29s that had been delivered to East Germany in the late 1980s.
  14. Yep. The F-108 was an interceptor design, similar to the British TSR-2 and the Canadian Arrow, but it never went beyond the mockup stage.
  15. What the Century series has in common is that they all were supersonic fighter aircraft designed and put into service in the 1950s. And at that time their capablities represented basically a quantum leap compared to the planes the USAF had used just a few years earlier. That would be my explanation. Also, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.
  16. Short answer: That's because you have set both MissionRate numbers to '1'. I guess it's true what they say, the knowledge base has an answer for almost every question. You should take a look a bunyap's page: Link: http://bunyap2w1.com/camptut2.htm
  17. My utterly subjective opinion is that both the Typhoon or the Gripen are nothing more than outsiders. I say that the serious contenders are the MiG and the American jets.
  18. True. The damage that could be seen on the pics I had posted on the previous page had been caused by a single hit from a 23mm cannon.
  19. None I can think of, but you can select the tail numbers for your plane group in the loadout menu.
  20. They are not gone, it's just that 3rd party skins come with less tail numbers than the stock skins. Tail numbers are randomly chosen for single missions, thus it's possible that a number is selected for which there is actually no tailnumber available.
  21. Can I play, too? Now and then I do get reminded of that those Badgers have tail guns not just for show... Still got most of them to have the mission to be considered successful. Decided then to play safe and bailed out...
  22. Main folder, actually it's all preset in the install rountine, so unless you altered the path (see below) all you have to do is to click 'Next' or 'OK'. The path should be something like C:\Program Files\Thirdwire\Wings over Europe
  23. I still think that you did not d/l or properly install the weapons pack. Link: weapons pack.
  24. Well, guided missiles or smart bombs were added later, I do remember that in the stock WOV without any patches applied these weren't available. Besides, the stock loadouts reflect the typical loadouts used in 60s. The 'smart' weapons (LGBs, EOGBs, EOGRs, etc) that are used these days all the time were still under development back then and rarely used.
  25. In the download section, of course. (Add-on aircraft > Modern Aircraft > A-10) It's part of the A-10A package, version 3.0.
