  1. RED TAILS looks awesome! for me to poop on

You know, every action movie that takes place during WWII is exagerated. Sure, the shotdown of the Me-262 looked a bit, well, silly, but the majority of the moviegoers know squat about air combat and what can be done and what not. I totally expect then to shoot down half of the German Luftwaffe during the course of the movie, but I hardly see that as an issue. Otherwise one couldn't see any action movie, because that's what it is in the end and not some history lesson.
  2. Any Macbook users here?

I have a MBP 13" (late 2010) and I like it. I have to have admit that its HDD is a bit small for my tastes (especially after I installed Windows 7 via BootCamp), but that's something that can easily be fixed for a few bucks and a screwdriver Btw, the MBPros and MBAirs support now only Windows 7 and the MBPro 13" and the MBAirs have only an on-board Intel graphics chip. IMHO I would only consider an MBA if I had to travel a lot and can't carry that much with me. I would recommend the MBP 13" I purchased last year, but to be honest I wouldn't get the current model due to the graphic chip issue. Also, Apple would like you to know they are portables and not laptops.
  3. To be honest I see this more of a warning shot to those who can't live with the fact that TK's games are "just" air combat sims. Yes, the game already allows for a lot more, but pretty much all of the stuff that had been mentioned in the thread on TW is redundant really. Sure, it might be nice to have, but in the end most of it would just be eye candy that you get to see for a few seconds or not at all during a mission. All I expect from TK is that the F-14 game features a nice turkey, some appropriate terrain (North Cape?, Mediterranean Sea?) and a variety of enemy aircraft to shoot at. As long as I get that I'll be happy and buy it gladly.
  4. IIRC there are also restrictions regarding the length and diameter which weapons can be loaded to a specifc station...tweaking the loadout.ini might work, but to be sure the [aircraft]_data.ini would have to be checked as well.
  5. Well, TK has hinted at that more DLC is coming, but I guess it's gonna be more along the lines of F-4K, F-8E(FN) etc. As nice as Photosader would be (not to mention that it would be good addition for SF2V) I guess it won't be happening since it would require more than just adding some rails and a redesigned pit.
  6. I wonder when he will release some new F-16A models as DLC...
  7. That kind of info should be put into the kb, just sayin'
  8. TK has redone the squadronlist and it now contains all USN units that have flown the Tomcat, before the patch some units (i.e. the USNR units VF-201/202 and 301/302) weren't included.
  9. Well, TK has already added all the remaining Tomcat units to the squadronlist, so he might as well get it ready for release soon.
  10. Silly question...where would I find this file? never mind...
  11. Always good to get new stuff, but has anyone else seen this?
  12. any Battletech players around these parts?

Ah, the memories. Although I got to say that the series kinda went downhill after the Clans were introduced.
  13. HOLY s**t!

    Happy B-Day, Dave.
  14. I loathe "steam"

While Steam does start to download games you just registered, you can still install them from the DVD if you have it. Steam KB link
  15. There's a pic of a F-4G in Osprey's Combat Aircraft #26, where you can't see any squadron identifier on the Phantom, but it's still labeled as a VF-213 bird.
  16. Didn't they try the same route with the F-35? Anyway, it should be interesting to see whether Boeing will able to construct their yet unbuilt and untested aircraft on time and on budget...

  20. Have the Russians ever said that they would give up their nuclear capability? In fact the arms reduction is actually an incentive to get more bang out of the Launch Systems they get to keep. Not to mention that they have been tinkering around that launch system for years now...with varying results
