& often their own aircraft were as deadly to the pilot as the enemy's. These weren't highly stable aircraft with precise handling & the speed of progress was such that what was top of the heap 1 month was a sitting duck 3 months later ...

BUFF replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
v.5.25.06 was a hotfix - if you download v5.15.06 from Thirdwire now what you get is SFP1_sp051506b.exe which combines the original v5.15.06 & the v5.25.06 hotfix -
SFP/WOV/WOE Patch names and numbers
BUFF replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
because Third Wire calls some of them Service Packs (i.e more than just patches as they include additional functionality as well as fixes). then there are patches & hotfixes ... & the previous packs are still available in the downloads section here. -
MoD announces air-to-ground upgrade for Eurofighter
BUFF replied to Nesher's topic in Military and General Aviation
The late tranche 1 Typhoons already have an air-to-ground capability using paveway. Anyway, it looks like this is probably where they got their info from before adding their own unique spin http://www.raf.mod.uk/news/index.cfm?story...E38C1F1E8385517 Also, more at http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2007/...t-contract.html -

why don't you ask TK if it could be made so ( obviously not just for WOV)? -
Thing is that the cost of remanufacturing a CH-47D (i.e. a 20 year old bird) to CH-47Fs is reportedly $8.5 million & that incl. new engines etc. so why are we paying ~$12 million per aircraft just for downgraded avionics ...?
-
well, the latest news is that the MoD is going to spend £60m to get these 8 or 9 airframes operational - by downgrading their avionics ...

working fine here & has been for the last few hours at least.

Newbie Question
BUFF replied to GreyCap's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
welcome http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showt...amp;#entry58744 ? there is no downloadable f-117 at the moment & that campaign appears to use the F-15A rather than E although I'm sure that it could be modded. -
How not to get 'Boned' flying the Bone.
BUFF replied to FastCargo's topic in Military and General Aviation
Around about that time the RAF strategic bomber force also flew intrusion missions against the US continent as exercises but afaik not at low level. Again they were successful in reaching all of their targets undetected/uninterrupted ... -

there's also the v08.30.06 patch after Service Pack v05.15.06. The service packs/patches update the core game engine with all the additional features that have been added over the years allowing for better eyecandy as well as better gameplay but it does mean that it won't run as well on lower end hardware as originally. Yours isn't a common complaint afaik though. Iirc the nVidia 5 series has something pretty badly broken - SM 2.0? Have you asked on Third Wire's tech supprt forum? -

downloads
BUFF replied to gunfighter160's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
welcome  A good no. of the downloads should have readmes but you should also chk out the knowledge base http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showforum=99 -
Hi, You might want to check out the Strike Fighters/WOV/WOE Knowledge base as it's basically all the same as they use the same game engine. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showforum=99 The game usually reads from the .cats but if you have something extracted it will read that before looking in the .cats. This is doubly good as if you screw up somewhere you can remove it & the game will go back to reading the .cats. You can get the .cat extractor from the downloads section here at CA.

SF was 1 of the first (if not the first) games to have support for enhanced. Afaik if you have to do any configuring it'll be in the TIR software.
