C-130J Version 1.0
Dels replied to Dels's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Recently, while I was doing the final testing on my C-130E I found that the landing light positions on all my Hercs were incorrect. To fix it, do this: Open you C-130J_DATA.ini file and go to the very bottom section where the light positions are. Make the following changes: [inboardTaxiLight1] SystemType=LIGHT Color=0.88,0.88,0.88 Brightness=0.10 Position=-2.650,0.125,-1.124 <------Change to -2.650,1.15,-1.124 LightSrcOffset=2.43,80.0,3.0 LightSrcRange=90 LightRange=45.0 CanFlash=FALSE LightNodeName=LandingLight IsLandingLight=TRUE [inboardTaxiLight2] SystemType=LIGHT Color=0.88,0.88,0.88 Brightness=0.10 Position=2.775,0.125,-1.124 <------Change to 2.775,1.15,-1.124 LightSrcOffset=-2.43,80.0,3.0 LightSrcRange=90 LightRange=45.0 CanFlash=FALSE LightNodeName=LandingLight IsLandingLight=TRUE and, [LandingLight1] SystemType=LIGHT Color=0.88,0.88,0.88 Brightness=0.10 Position=-7.400,0.50,1.825 <------Change to -7.408,0.50,1.825 LightSrcOffset=1.0,80.0,3.0 LightSrcRange=90 LightRange=45.0 CanFlash=FALSE LightNodeName=LandingLight IsLandingLight=TRUE [LandingLight2] SystemType=LIGHT Color=0.88,0.88,0.88 Brightness=0.10 Position=7.705,0.50,1.825 <------Change to 7.54,0.50,1.825 LightSrcOffset=-1.0,80.0,3.0 LightSrcRange=90 LightRange=45.0 CanFlash=FALSE LightNodeName=LandingLight IsLandingLight=TRUE -

Dels posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
G'day everyone, Just thought I'd post to say that a C-130E will be inbound very soon. No pics to post at this stage, but you won't have to wait long. Maybe two weeks, maybe less... Dels -

Marcello is already a fair way into building a B-2. -

But of course if you want to put the decal on the doors also, you'll need to create a separate entry for them. -

Yeah, I attached the landing gear pods to the fuselage. So the mesh is "Fuselage". Any time. -

Crusader, They are actually there, but they're just a little faint with the light tan background. If you change the colour, they should appear. -

That's fine Dave. No harm done. Sorry I couldn't respond earlier...it's a little hard with dial up. -
C-130H Version 1.0

Which hole? If you mean the one right at the front that looks like an intake, it's the intake for the Cargo Air Conditioning Pack. The exhaust is a round hole below the intake, forward of the MLG doors. All hercules that are C-130H and later have that type of air con inlet. That's the main way you can tell the difference between an E and a H (also the Flight Station Air Conditioner and APU inlet/exhaust). -

Dave, Don't know if you still need help, but: I detached all the control surfaces for skinning, so some won't exactly line up. For example with the tail and rudder, if you want the stripe to show correctly, you'll need to offset the stipe on the rudder by a few pixels or so. Use the rivet lines as a guide. Sorry to make it difficult. -

Question about shadows
Dels posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
G'Day, My C-130H is finished, I just wanted to release it with a shadow file. The only problem is that the shadow has problems and I'm new to creating shadows so I need some help. I created the shadow using the 3rd LOD for the aircraft and it works fine, but there seems to be holes in the shadow as if those polys were missing in the model it was created from. However, the model is fine. Has anyone ever encountered this problem before? Thanks in advance. Dels -

Ok, now you've lost me. What do you mean by "model over"? Do you mean build a new section of the model over the top? -

Thanks for the reply Julhelm. Does this mean that you are supposed to make the shadow from your highpoly LOD? Otherwise, how is it possible to match them? -

We'll see. It's not high on my priority list at the moment, but at least it's on it. Sorry to say, the C-130H will have a J model cockpit to start with for now. -
