No it's that baddass Gamera ! A particularly aggresive giant flying turtle with attitude common to parts of Japan with miniature cities.

German Airspeed Indicators ... missing
catch replied to IvanK's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
It would be nice but no big deal. Who constantly monitors airspeed anyway ? With taking off/landing it's all done with the "feel" of the aircraft, at least for me. I never look at the airspeed. It's the RPM I'm constantly monitoring and adjusting via the mixture lever. -
Dawn Patrol (TSR) miniatures campaign pictures.
catch replied to MK2's topic in WWI Flight Sim Discussion
Crivens ! Just had a quiet peek. Usually I suffer an attack of narcolepsy when miniatures/board games are mentioned. But this is something else MK2. Amazing dedication ! -
Ah ha ! That's what did it ! I was playing around with the k/b commands in a tired and emotional state recently and one of the many I tried must have been shift+d .... {it's all a bit hazy you understand ! I think I was trying to open bomb bay doors lol} .... because all previous onscreen text disappeared. So now I know. Actually I think I did know but I'd just forgotten and I'm very lazy :lazy2: Thanks for the reminder Pol

Different aspects of approaching the sim in campaign

A rather sweeping statement old boy and a false one tiger. -
Go on take the plunge Jedi . Only $39.99 now . What are you waiting for ?

I think Siggi was a little premature in his first opinion on hard DM Luiz. The devs opinion is hard DM is the most realistic.

Opinion of OFF? -sorry, really noob question
catch replied to HomeBoy's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Goodonya flynnj. I'm glad you're enjoying it. Trackir will make a HUGE difference ! Now I hope you've gone back to those unbelievers on the other forum who also scoffed at the 50 bucks and set them straight ? And then if they switch tactics to how old the cfs3 engine is and how cfs3 as a game was crap etc etc you can perhaps straighten that out too lol. Welcome to the OFF BH&H forum. -
Good job Fatesy. It's getting real cool here now. Now where did I put my cardigan !

Sweet Gordon Bennett ! Now just calm down ol' ham. For God's sake man think of the children !

Capital news chaps ! Can't wait to test out the hardcore DM myself. "As for the whiners and nit-pickers, they should just shut up and play. BHaH is damned near perfect!!" -Over50 -

Well said. I totally agree. It seems there's too many "Stachel's" these days concerned only with kills and stats and talk of bringing pilots back to life and such rubbish. Who bloody cares about internet heroes. Not my cup of tea. P3 is a whole lot more than that.

'bout time for a new movie innit :whistling: .... a brief intro .... ================================================================================================ Dempster's First Adventure: {Tobias "Dempster" Dempsey. Born Tunbridge Wells, Kent, 1896} Tobias Dempsey was a sickly child. The local quack suggested fresh sea air and sunshine along with liberal doses of castor oil. His mother, Betty, armed with said oil and her only son departed post haste in a southerly direction toward Portsmouth. A rather gaudy seaside hotel was selected and a single room, with balcony, was booked for 2 weeks. Young Tobias, at the tender age of thirteen, revelled in the sun, sand and salty air and within four days was already showing significant improvement. He met a rather forward 14 year old girl named Daisy and experienced his first fumbled kisses behind the bathing pavillion, underneath the pier, along the walking track high on the cliffs and once, inside a dressing tent on the beach. Daisy, for reasons best known to 14 year old girls, referred to Tobias as "Dempster". The nickname stuck. On one glorious windless day, Dempster was strolling along the foreshore with Daisy when he heard a cacophony of spluttering bangs and wheezes not dissimilar to the blacksmith's steam driven contraption back home. It was in fact the sound of an Anzani 3 cylinder 25hp engine perched precariously at the front end of a Bleriot XI. Dempster watched the monoplane in awe and fascination as it lazily traversed the shoreline at approx 100 feet altitude seemingly without a care in the world. The aviation bug had bitten. For Dempster it was a revelation. If I need fresh air and sunshine, he thought, that's how I want to do it. And so, in the fullness of time, Tobias "Dempster" Dempsey was posted to C Squadron 1 Wing RNAS as an observer/gunner in Sopwith's new fighter/bomber machine, the 1 & 1/2 Strutter. It was summer 1916. And a particularly bad one at that. Daisy Dempsey remained in Blighty with child .... Addendum: Recently uncovered rare footage of Dempster's first sortie entitled "Railyard Attack" is documented below ....

DM: just right after 1.28?
catch replied to Herr Prop-Wasche's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Probably not Unc. But I'm sure the Morane Saulnier does .... it may be a mere twinkle in Pol's eyes at the moment but I'm sure consumation will take place at the appropriate moment. He just needs some privacy Back to topic. I only loaded 1.28 over the weekend straight over 1.25 ..... missed out on 1.26 and hotfix and whatever else there was. Put it down to real life disruptions . Change is really rapid around here. I dips me lid to those OBD boys. Truly remarkable. 1.28 looks very good to me so far. However, I've only flown 2 campaign missions to date so too early to pass comment. And that was primarily to add a few scenes to my "Railyard Attack" video (most of which was done in 1.25) so I wasn't really analysing anything except to get some nice clips. In any event, OFF BH&H as it stands now surely is the best flight sim experience (of any era) anyone can have .... with or without trousers. Hmmm did I actually say that out loud ? -
Thank you Gentlemen. And Parky ! High praise indeed after your last very impressive effort ! Yes, it is indeed Fred Astaire who sings the opening number and the last. The middle song is by Al Bowlly so the cigar goes to Cpt.Kremmen. It's not music of the WW1 era being 15 or so years too late .... but it's close(ish) enough to portray the times and it seems to work which is my intention. Not tried floatby view (what's that shft f9 or something ?) but perhaps I should check it out. Be warned there may be more "Dempster Adventures" .... should the poor chap live long enough lol.

This whole claims thing is weird...check this out.
catch replied to Aussie Pilot's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Has something changed ? {yes catch there's been more patches !} Oh ! So soon ! I've been away on business amongst other real life stuff and haven't had the chance to check out 1.28 fully nor attend the forum as much as I'd like. So the last time I filed a claim (1.25 I think), if the claim submission form appeared, I'd jot down my wingman's name (as written in the duty board but without rank). Then select the plane(s) I shot down from the drop down. If the exact type wasn't available I'd select single-seater or two-seater. Then I'd make up a complete load of utter tosh (one line only) as the explanation and submit. Some would be accepted. Some wouldn't. Sometimes accept/reject would be slow. Sometimes fast. Seems pretty real to me. And I accept the umpires decision without complaint or stressing over every minor little thing. I like it the way it is. Unless you have system/install issues screwing up the way P3 behaves, I don't know what some of you guys are whingeing about to be perfectly honest. -
