The Official Sept/Oct Patch Thread
Dave replied to Murphy'S's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
No do not remove the re-created DAT file. If you have an old one, remove it, run the weapondata.ini through the editor, the editor will make a new .DAT file and you will be fine. -

That is the problem, no has been able to make anything to counter a lazer cat attack. Shields and screens are useless. -

Yes you have to use the new stuff, the old will not work as I found out the other day with my CH stuff. If you are using any of those old files Crusader mentioned you are going to have the problems you are having now. -

Um fellas almost everything AD did is already here at CA and has been here for some time. His Japanese aircraft pack...... http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...mp;showfile=744 Or his Thuds..... http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...amp;showcat=271 His Hunters http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5235 So everything he has done is here. What's the big deal? You all are killing me. Streak We are backed up a few times, so we will never lose a thing if a hacker attacks. We have back ups for back ups. Quit whining..... -

Put the editor in your windows/system folder and make a short cut to your desktop. That will fix your problem. I had the same issue until I did that. -

Problem with that Mike, is that the KB has been revamped over and over and over again and its a lot more use friendly that it ever was. The KB was created so people can be self sufficient. Example: Looking for weps editing information Start here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showforum=99 Then Here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showforum=171 Then Here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showforum=189 If someone has a better way of making it more plainer than that, I am all ears. -
Well we got a lot of people who did it but many many many many who did not. We had expected many more but the numbers didn't show up. I am seriously disheartened by all this. I can't divulge the numbers until I get permission but man it missed our target by a wide margin. We have almost 32,000 members the contributions were well.....appalling. In fact what happened was when we announced this subscription thing, there was a serious spike in the downloads. People trying to get all they could. Makes me sick actually. We provided this service to the community, asked for a little help so no one person would have to foot the bill and what did we get in return? A small dent in what we needed. I think we figured out if like 5 to 10% gave we would be good to go for a long long long time. Is the site endanger of closing down? No, but the belt is going to have be tightened again to make sure we don't. I am going to add some more money into it again here in November. A lot of the people that did give were admin, moderators, and modders. I feel like the general user left us holding the bag. Say what you want etc etc etc. It is just another case of someone looking for a free lunch. What a shame.

That is why I always like to check the references he lists. Its a good thing he does that. I think he might be getting 3 or 4 from his research and making an average... -

Well think about this for a second, I have long since quit using most of Bunyaps weps pack and use the MF ones. They are easier to use and are much more compatible with the sim. i.e. not having to do the rename data.inis etc etc like you are all about to do. At one time using Bunyaps packs formats was a great idea but in the end it creating alot more work for you all. Here is my suggestion and I am not doing this to pimp out the MF stuff, I suggesting it out of ease of modding. Use the MF weps packs, (we got more coming) add anything you want from Bunyaps to it. Then you will be set. Example if you use the MF Soviet weps, you wont have to do any renaming like you would with Buny's. I added from Buny's weps pack a a lot of the LGB's, then I added all of Fast Cargos mods. I have one hell of a weps pack and didnt have to touch a single aircraft data.ini and loadout.ini. Work smarter not hard IMHO. -
