  1. I´m not confirm with templates, to be honest. But for sure i can add pure bitmaps, with just panel lines painted on so you can easily make several skins. First i wanted to make two models, but now i decided to have several variants chooseable thru the loadout screen. You can select these variants: - 4 SS.11 AT-Missiles and back doors mounted. - 1 door gun, without back doors. - both side rocket pods without back doors. - no weapons with back doors. Piloto, what kind of rocket tubes are these on your scary config picture?
  2. Ehhhh, no. No C-5 and no C-17. I have a C-141 somewhere on my backup stuff, wich is pretty poor and pretty early. I planned to make a transport pack with several aircrafts, when i finished the current projects. But i guess it´ll take its time, when i see my list.
  3. Not sure about that, as i don´t know, if it´s possible to make the back doors opened. I´ll have to take a look on the model, if i´m able to do so. The current version is only setup as "Tankhunter", armed with 4 AS.11 missiles. The pylons are allready there, but only occure, when missiles are loaded. Piloto, you got any info, what the pilot is reading on your photo? I wonder, what would be worse. 1. He´s looking por.. magazine. 2. He´s reading the Alouette operator´s guide. 3. He fell asleep while reading an article about eels.
  4. I made a new pilot with stuff, vrkuboy has send me, to replace that ugly bastard i made myself. (Don´t worry about him, he´ll live in the loft and will be fed with a bucket of eelheads a day) Still have to play a bit with size and the visor TGA.
  5. Depends on, HOW the high polygon model is build. vrkuboy, for example had every bolt on the main rotor modeled, wich i could remove, as it´s no big deal to paint them to the skin. Flat Holes in the fuselage, screws on the wheels, the interior was high detailed, what you don´t see in game that much. I removed highly detailed parts and replaced them with low poly count parts. But when the main parts, like fuselage, wings and stuff is splitted in to many vercities, it´s getting hard. Then it´s easier and faster to build from scratch. Like i said, depends on each model, to decide, if it´s worth the work (and possible!).
  6. Before the topic about his F-117 is overloaded with this little bird, i´ll open a new one. Here is the beautyfull engine of him mapped and skinned. One reason of the high poly count was the inlet net, wich he modeled with detailed object. I removed that completly and used TGA file to make the net.
  7. Marcelo is still around here. Sadly i don´t remember the topic, but he wrote there, he´s using a laptop to visit forum, but it´s not capable for 3D stuff. So if there is something important we should know, i bet he would told us. Same to the discussion if, or what is lost. He would let us know, if we would need to. Back on track. I guess this F-117 will never reach the game, cause here we are talking about 170.000 (!) polygons. I don´t think, i could lower it to a workable number. The Alouette wasn´t that hard, as it "just" used 30.000 polygons. I made it half of that amount, but i believe it´s almost impossible on the F-117. And even when it could be done, it would be easier and faster to build a low-poly model from scratch. So the Nighthawk is a fantastic model, but will never fly in one of the TW series.
  8. The Airbus is on hold during other projects are on top of priority list. When they are finished, i wanted to create some sort of "transport super pack", including Airbus, C-5B and IL-76. I´m kinda bored when playing campaign, all the modern jets around me and a single An-12 is cruising the sky like an almost dead dinosaur.
  9. Don´t forget the one wich is in my Tornado. The guy with the helmet mounted Night Vision Goggles! Sadly, he isn´t also that nice, but at least something different.
  10. Would be great to have a nice guy sitting behind the stick of it, instead of this ..... i´ll call him "Alfred", there might be children around. If you want to see if he´s fitting inside the pit, shoot me a PM. Of course, only if it´s OK to vrkuboy, as it´s still his model.
  11. Don´t wonder about and don´t tell anybody. He´s got a secret laser designator hiding in that hugh nose!
  12. *DOH* Guess i made a homer?
  13. Well, i checked the Alouette´s dimensions and find them matching, so it´s really the stock pilot model, wich is to big. Here´s my Alouette pilot fitting perfectly into the bird. I´m still not sure if he is more small, or more ugly. Guess i should rename him, from currently "Alouettepilot.LOD" to "Uglybastard.LOD"?
  14. I´m not sure, because my mission building skills are poor as hell, but i noticed AI wingman and other flights just disappear when their mission is done (when they landed and reached the magic speed of 0 knots ). So is it possible to "spawn" new flights in a mission? If so it would need a little tweaking, but should be possible to let flight one land at a specific point and at the time it dissapears, flight 2 is entering service and starts at the same position? just a guess, what do you think?
  15. I will make the weapon pylons as game engine pylons. They will only appear if missiles are loaded. Remember, this image is just a very first look of the model. I just reduced polycount and scale of it. And even this is not finished, as i´m trying to decrease polycount more, cause it needs a new interior (holes) and the scale has to be matched with reality.
  16. vrkuboy has send me his Alouette III model. He is using gmax, so it´s not that easy to get the stuff into 3ds MAX to convert it into LOD files. The models are out of size and have a way to high polycount. I tried to reduce the polycount of the Alouette and got this from ~30.000 to ~17.000. Now the exporter is working and the model can be used in Thirdwire series. Still a lot work to do and a lot of issues have to be erased. I tried mainly to rescue the high detailed engine part, wich is very nice. The interior needs to be fixed and i scaled it down a bit to much i guess. (Or does the crew just needs a breath of fresh air on head and toes?) Just a very first try if its working in game! Greets Florian
  17. Also ihr redet definitiv aneinander vorbei!
  18. The Alphajet in german Luftwaffe service was used as trainer and light attack aircraft. In case of war, there was also a kit for it to replace the rear seat. This kit was easy to mount and had mainly a better ECM system connected to ports allready in the rear cockpit. I´m currently testing on using the rear pilot/seat as weapon, so you can choose in the loadout screen to have an instructor or an ECM in your back.
  19. vrkuboy, Julhelm is absolutly right. Believe him. These are great models, but they will never find their way into the game. It will either freeze or CTD, when trying to run such a model. People not making the changes to the FLIGHTENGINE.INI are getting problems, when they try to run models with a polygon count higher than 10.000, so it´s not realistic to use models with 70.000 - 170.000! It doesn´t matters, if its now 170.000 or 169.305! It won´t slow done any system, it will just NOT work at all. My System is now 5 years old and when runnning into the visibility range of two high-poly-count (max. 15.000) models with high-rez skins, it´s like flying with hiccup. Reduce detail, so you got a maximum of 15.000 polygons and you will have an excellent model, wich works good in game. Greets Florian
  20. You mean this Air Force is using also Alpha Jets? I know. Let´s see if i find good info on Portuguese colors used on the AlphaJet Camo. Greets Florian
  21. Thanks alot guys, that will help for sure. Piloto, i´m making the AlphaJet-A, wich was used by the german Luftwaffe. Greets Florian
  22. Naja.
  23. Hi all, i´m currently working on my AlphaJet cockpit and would need all kind of pics i can get. Search in the net wasn´t that satisfying. I guess the shape of it i managed to do, but i would need close up pics of the instruments, to paint them. No, that´s not an alien hand on the stick, have to work on it a bit more. Greets Florian
Also Grüsse aus Idar-Oberstein! Stinger, da muss ich dir Recht geben, dieses Addon ist Weltklasse. Und wenn man weiss, wieviel Arbeit hinter so was steckt, kann ich nur sagen.... Gruss Florian
