  1. I thought I had the latest version, but now I'm not sure. What is the latest version and where can I find it?
  2. I've just upgraded my Windows 10 to the Creator's Update, Version 1703 and the Lod Viewer quit working. Anyone else have this problem and or found a fix for it?
  3. RAVEN

    Good news. Welcome back.
  4. Which Strike Fighters games do you have? The desert.cat file comes with Strike Fighters Project 1 and/or Strike Fighters Gold. In the Strike Fighters game folders you will find a Terrain folder. In the Terrain folder you will find a folder named Desert. In the Desert folder you should find the file desert.cat file. If you do not have Strike Fighters Project 1 or Strike Fighters Gold you will not have the desert.cat file.
  5. Suez 2 is SF1. Why I suggested it. But ... not sure about his Persian Gulf terrain. One step at a time.
  6. Try working with only one terrain for the moment. Try the Suez 2 terrain. Copy the desert.cat file from the Strike Fighters Gold / Strike Fighters Project 1 terrain folder. Copy it into the Suez 2 terrain folder. Change the line entry in your Suez 2.ini file to look like this: CatFile=Desert.cat Fly that terrain and see if it helped.

  8. It doesn't install. Create a folder, drop the catpack.exe file in the folder. Put a .cat file in the folder with it. Drop the .cat file on the catpack.exe file and hit enter. It should create a folder of the .cat file and open the .cat file in the folder. Read the readme file carefully.
  9. Are you using the CatPack Utility here? http://combatace.com/files/file/7933-catpack-archiving-utility/ It works best for SF1.
  10. Before I plop down more money on airplanes than most games cost, I was wondering if it's better to buy the DSC: Official Site planes that are NOT Steam compatible or buy those that are? Any opinions with reason are appreciated.
  11. Thanks all for your input. I'm leaning toward NO Steam, much for reasons some of you gave. But at the cost of the planes and the limited inventory I need to explore a bit. You see I think I'm in love with MilViz's F-4E and F-100D with TACPACKS for FSX. I visit their site so much I have an icon to it on my desktop. I feel like a voyeur; like I'm stocking their planes. Don't think I've seen many as beautiful as theirs. I got their F-86F a couple years back. Took me half a day to get it off the ground. Bought some cheap weapons pack for it. It's crap. When I pulled the trigger on my joystick, got very disappointed. I prefer combat sims. Just that FSX has such beautiful planes. But all eunuchs. So... can only currently afford DCS or FSX and need to decide although I'm leaning more toward DCS so I can shoot stuff. BUT MAN, I LOVE those MilViz planes.
  12. I might be able to do both. I have boxed sets of Lock-On Modern Combat; Lock-on Gold; Lock-On Platinum; Lock-On Flaming Cliffs 3; A-10 Warthog; DCS Blackshark. I also have some DLC on my server for the Lock-On series. Don't remember what most of it is. So, I wonder if I load these on my computer and crank up Steam and load Steam's DCS World if it will recognize my old boxed version games and incorporate them into the Steam DCS World? Then I can get the WWII and Korean War era planes from ED's site and play them separately off Steam. Guess I won't know unless I try. Or I can ask at Steam before I go through all the loading, etc.
  13. I like the idea of Steam being automatically updated and keeping track of my games for me but what concerns me is that, 1 - The planes I want for DCS, WWII and Korean War era, don't seem to be available on Steam (unless I just can't find them) and 2 - The same planes I want at the DCS site are Steam incompatible. So, there's my quandary.
  14. They're all nice but I especially like the blue and white striped ones.
  15. How many graphics adapters does your laptop have? Mine has 2; an Intel HD gpu and an Nvidia gpu. I use the Nvidia for SF2 but I have to set it to be the default adapter.
  16. Gepard, Using the desert.cat file worked for me. I had originally used the IsraelME.cat file and had the white squares. Changing to the desert.cat file fixed that problem in both the Suez2 and Persischer Golf terrains. Thanks for the terrains and fix.
  17. I have a CH Products Multi Functional Panel but can't seem to get it recognized by SF2. I use a CH Products Fighterstick, Throttle and Pedals and they are recognized by the game and easily set up in the games control options. I'm using CH Control Manager v4.55. How do I get the MFP recognized so I can program it to use in the game? Thanks,

  20. Nice find, Coupi. But you need to remove the dashes after the equal signs in the instrument entries, ie., From this: Instrument[048]=-----Move1 Instrument[049]=-----Move2 Instrument[050]=-----Move3 To this: Instrument[048]=Move1 Instrument[049]=Move2 Instrument[050]=Move3
  21. Wrench, I know there are much better models available. I'm just practicing skinning on Wolf257's old planes to see what they 'could' look like and as they are in some of my SF1 installs and look pretty bad in their original skins. These recent re-skins are for my SF1 installs. A-20B Havoc, North Africa 1943

  23. File Name: MD-450 Ouragan Template Redrawn Lines & Rivets File Submitter: Geary File Submitted: 14 February 2017 File Category: Skin Templates Semi-HiRez 1024 Templates for Pasko's MD-450 Ouragan For SF1 and SF2. Based on Wrench's original MD-450 template . Redrawn Panel Lines and Rivets at 1024 pixels in layered PSD format. You must have a program that recognizes and works with PSD layers to work with this template. Two free programs, Gimp and Paint.net work with PSD layers. Opacity adjustable for both lines and rivets layers. It's and old plane and has a couple of lod inconsistencies such as the lower right aileron isn't mapped correctly but it's the only Ourgan we have. I have no references for this plane so there's not a lot of detail in the templates. Add your own paint, dirt and weathering. I've left Wrench's original skins in the template to make it easier to repaint them. Thanks to Pasko for this great little plane and to Wrench for the original template . I'm releasing this under the Combat Ace Fair Use Agreement. Use it anyway you wish for personal use. For any other use, please contact me first. If you find any problems with it, please PM me. If you improve it please share with the community. If I forget or miss anyone who deserves credit for anything I release, I apologize. I have no intent to abuse or misuse anyone's property or claim it as my own. Please contact me to correct any error. Geary Click here to download this file
