MTO USAAF A-20 Havoc skin references
Geary posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
I would like to skin the Boston as a US A-20 Havoc for the USAAF in the MTO. BUT I have no references for the USAAF Havoc in the MTO. I can find some pics and WIKI info on the web not nothing definitive on USAAF MTO A-20's; at least nothing that I can see well enough to skin from. Any pictures, units, or direction to find this information will be helpful and appreciated. Thanks, Geary -

Also try removing the flightengine.ini file from your flight folder if there's one in there. -

Semi-HiRez 1024 Templates for Pasko's MD-450 Ouragan For SF1 and SF2. Based on Wrench's original MD-450 template . Redrawn Panel Lines and Rivets at 1024 pixels in layered PSD format. You must have a program that recognizes and works with PSD layers to work with this template. Two free programs, Gimp and Paint.net work with PSD layers. Opacity adjustable for both lines and rivets layers. It's and old plane and has a couple of lod inconsistencies such as the lower right aileron isn't mapped correctly but it's the only Ourgan we have. I have no references for this plane so there's not a lot of detail in the templates. Add your own paint, dirt and weathering. I've left Wrench's original skins in the template to make it easier to repaint them. Thanks to Pasko for this great little plane and to Wrench for the original template . I'm releasing this under the Combat Ace Fair Use Agreement. Use it anyway you wish for personal use. For any other use, please contact me first. If you find any problems with it, please PM me. If you improve it please share with the community. If I forget or miss anyone who deserves credit for anything I release, I apologize. I have no intent to abuse or misuse anyone's property or claim it as my own. Please contact me to correct any error. Geary -
MTO USAAF A-20 Havoc skin references

OK, I think I'll try the sand and green on the Boston with the azure blue bottom and the yellow ringed rondel. I'll keep the G model the OD/Neutral gray with the star and bar. I need to straighten out the line where the top and bottom paints meet. Would also love to have the G model with the 20mm guns. I agree we could use a new model as this is a great plane. Gee, all this started because I didn't have a US skin to fly in the MTO and turns out the G model is the same skin as your ETO skins. Thanks for the info. Will get on these ASAP. -

charlielima, You might be right about the insignia. That's why I was hoping for definitive references. In the meantime, I think I'll go with the OD/Neutral Gray paint scheme of the A-20G model. I prefer more guns than the A-20B had. -

Playing around with the MTO sand and blue color scheme in the absence of factual color pictures. But I don't think this is anywhere near real. Just wanted to see what it would look like. This lod has a few defects. This is what I have so far. Still needs mucho work. -

Wrench, Looking forward to anything you can find referencing this plane and theatre. Czech6, Thanks for the site. Looks like there's some usable info in there once it's sifted. Too bad no color pictures. -

Patch Problem
Geary replied to WINGEDHUSSAR's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
CRentzell95, What operating system are you running? If you are running Windows 7, look in C:\Windows\System32 for d3dx9_31.dll. If it's not there, get a copy and put it in that folder. If the game works after that, fine. If not... Try copying it to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 if you are running a 64-bit WIndows. Good luck, -

Skins don't show
Geary replied to RustyKurnass's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Try just removing the F-4E_KURNASS_73_AVIONICS.INI file to some other place and see if the radar works then. -

It seems the problem with the F-r Kurnass_73 radar is in the F-4E_KURNASS_73_AVIONICS.INI file. I don't know if eburger68 modified the radar for this plane and if so, what his intent may have been, but it works with the F-4E_KURNASS_73_AVIONICS.INI file from the SF2 Israel install. -

I'm not sure what the problem is with the radar in the F-4_Kurnass_73 but I replaced it with the F-4_Kurnass_73 from my SF2I install and the radar works. The problem I have with this replacement is I'm not sure if there were modifications made to the Israel XP F-4_Kurnass-73 radar. -

RustyKurnass, I had the same problem with the skin not showing up. The VautourIIA.INI file is set to read-only in properties. It is also missing the [TextureSet001] entry. You must uncheck the read-only check box in properties. Save the file. Then run the game. The texture should show up and add the [TextureSet001] entry to the VautourIIA.INI file. Then you can check the read-only box in properties again. This worked for me. Hope it works for you. Geary -
Need Israeli Air Force Camo Pattern Help
Geary posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Can someone please tell me the approximate year start and end dates the Israeli Air Force began and ended using the 2-tone and 3-tone camoflage patterns? For instance: 2-tone brown and blue: Start Date Year= ? End Date Year= ? 3-tone brown, sand and green: Start Date Year= ? End Date Year= ? Thanks for any help. Geary -

Thanks, I think I'll go with brown/blue 2-tone from 56/57 to 68 and 3-tone from 68 forward. My problem was flying natural metal P-51D's in the '48 War of Independence and having 2-tone Mustangs also flying. Didn't seem right. Then in 56 having 2-tone and 3-tone planes flying around. -

Yeah, that what I thought. I'm trying to setup my '48 - '56 Israel install. I keep getting Israeli camo popping up on planes when I don't think it was used. But without definitive information I'm at a standstill. -
