  1. Sundowner performed some sort of .lod magic and produced this on an F-4M: I adjusted Ravenclaw007's F-4E SEA skin to fit this and painted on a few rivets and panel lines: Also adjusted Sundowner's F-4E SEA skin for this. I love Sundowner's mod but as it's for the F-4M it has this tailfin butt cap that can't be removed or edited out: It would be great if someone with modding abilities would create a paintable inside cover like Sundowner's for the F-4E. I'm just saying...

  3. Does anyone know of a small pylon I can add to a T-33 to be able to add rocket pods? I've tried Wrench's F79 missile rails and they fit, but the rail sticks out a bit too far. I've searched numerous weapons packs but no luck. Any help is appreciated. Geary
  4. Coupi, Thanks for the link, but it doesn't work for me. I get a message that says, "Sorry, we can't find that." I think I have problems between CombatAce and my Windows 10 Internet Explorer browser. Some things that used to work for me here don't anymore.
  5. Has anyone found the right combination to get SF1 to work fully in Windows 10 64-bit? I can get it to start, run a mission or mission-in-campaign, but about 80% of the time it either locks up or CDTs when exiting the mission. The best compatibility mode I've discovered for my rig so far is XP SP3. Every other mode seems to lock up or CDT more that XP SP3. Although the compatibility troubleshooter usually chooses Vista it doesn't work better that XP SP3. Doesn't seem to matter if it's a clean install or modded or where I run the game from it still CDTs most of the time. If I can't find the fix for SF1 in Windows 10 64-bit, I will probably retro-build an XP computer to run the game. Just my luck I've gotten rid of dozens of old XP computers over the past few years.
  6. savagekc, NICE new rig. This should keep you flying in SF2 for a while. You will probably need to build a Windows 7 machine to run SF1. Good on you for volunteering your time to help senior citizens with their computers. I work on computers for spare parts or desserts. Now is pie season. Geary
  7. savagkc, I've built one Windows 7 machine and two XP Pro computers to try SF1 on. Haven't had time to extensively experiment with all three, yet. The Windows 7 machine works great. Over 30 SF1 installs and no problems so far except with some YAP missions but YAP has always been a bit buggy. It's running an Intel i3 CPU, 16GB DDR3 RAM and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 video card with 2GB GDDR5 RAM. For the XP machine I was hoping to find one with an Intel E series dual core cpu running between 2.8 and 3.0 GHz. I've only found a couple with Pentium D chips. Running XP Pro 32-bit on those with 4GB DDR2 RAM and one has a Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 card with 2GB DDR5. Haven't loaded SF1 on it yet. But the first XP machine with a 2.8GHz Pentium D bogs down a bit set maxed out in the game. It only has a GTX 740 card with 2GB DDR3 RAM. I'm thinking the 3.0GHz Pentium D with the GTX 650 card will do better. I'd also like to try XP Pro 64-bit on one to take advantage of the extra 512MB of RAM the 32-bit version doesn't use. With the Windows 7 computer running SF1 so well, seems like I don't need the XP machines at this point, but think I'll keep one handy. Never know when I'll need it. Like you, I suspect DirectX and/or video being part of the problem with SF1 crashing in Windows 10. It would be nice to get this problem fixed and only have to run one gaming rig, but for SF1 I'll run two if I have to.
  8. It might just be my inconsistent memory, but I thought I saw a mod here sometime in the past that allowed the A-4 Skyhawk to be a 'Buddy' Air-to-Air Refueler. Basically it's a large drop tank with the refueling hose attachment. I've searched the SF1 and SF2 aircraft and weapons downloads but didn't find it. Do we have this mod? If so, can someone point me to it? TIA
  9. Windows 7 is my favorite MS operation system. Worked great first time out. Maybe I'll experiment and load an extra computer with Windows 7 for SF1 and conduct a trial to see which runs it better. Hate to loose SF1. Still gives me pleasure and I've got campaigns/installs in SF1 we don't have in SF2 and plenty of YAP missions that don't run in SF2.
  10. HAPPY 98 th BIRTHDAY

  11. trotski00, I'll most likely build an XP computer rather than Windows 7. Microsoft says it still supports Windows 7 but I've reloaded a couple dozen Windows 7 computers in the past few months and Microsoft has strangled the Windows 7 updates. Updating Windows 7 is now a freaking struggle. Updating the initial Windows 7 install to Windows 10 is much easier. Windows 10 is here to stay. And it runs SF2 with few problems. xreal, Thanks, but I have Windows XP. I need a Windows XP compatible computer to put it on. I've had dozens in the past few years and got rid of them all.

  13. New Cooling Fans

$31.28 from Amazon. No shipping fee if you're an Amazon Prime member. You will have to take your motherboard out of the case to install the fan. I thought it would come with a bracket for beneath the MB but it only uses plastic washers and thumb screws. Still, the fan isn't as heavy as I thought it would be.

  16. Thanks Guys, I'm guessing at this point we don't have the D-704.
  17. Nyghtfall, It's possible these are the same. The photo I posted is from the side and it's possible the device in the middle is hidden in my photo. I don't have enough info to know for sure. Killerbee's may be the one I'd seen here before. This is the only description in Wiki from the A-4 Skyhawk page, "A designated supply A-4 would mount a center-mounted "buddy store", a large external fuel tank with a hose reel in the aft section and an extensible drogue refueling bucket.." Interesting. Not definitive, but interesting. Thanks,
  18. Spinners, Thanks. Always looking for inspiration and I've found much from your work. Geary 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap'

  20. The SR-71A Upgrade Repack (*)

Great update. Good work on getting the lod fixed. Charlie's Problem skin is missing one texture file. Can any of the other skin textures be used in it's place? If so, which one?
  21. File Name: TW_HiRez_SuperMystereB2_Templates File Submitter: Geary File Submitted: 11 March 2016 File Category: Skin Templates TW Super Mystere B2 / Sa'ar Hi-Rez Templates for SF2 / SF1. Templates for the ThirdWire Super Mystere B2 / Sa'ar at 2048 pixels in PSD format. You must have a software program that reads and works with PSD layers. These were built in Photoshop CC 2015. Gimp and Paint.net are two free programs that work with PSD layers. Opacity is adjustable for all layers. These can be saved in JPG format for SF2 or BMP format for SF1. Add your own paint, dirt and weathering. I have no references for this plane so there's not a lot of detail in the templates. I just redrew the lines and rivets from the existing Super Mystere B2 skins. I'm releasing this under the Combat Ace Fair Use Agreement. Use it anyway you wish for personal use. For any other use, please contact me first. If you find any problems with it, please PM me. If you improve it, please PM me a copy. If I forget or miss anyone who deserves credit for anything I release, I apologize. I have no intent to abuse or misuse anyone's property or claim it as my own.
