I don't mind debt, I have life insurance. Besides, you Ordnance guys are just sitting around counting and polishing your bullets waiting for a war to start so you can do the work you get paid for. I'll give your ini tweaks a try and see how they work. It'll take a while for me to dechiper the changes. Wish there was a manual for what all the stuff in the ini's means. -
Helicopter Pylon Problem

I have a helicopter that won't allow anything to be loaded on it's first pylon. The pylon shows up in the loading/arming screen but stays empty no matter what mission type is loaded. How do I fix the pylon so I can load weapons on it? -

Thanks, Guys, Eighteen hardpoints does sound like a bit much, but still only allows four pylons to be loaded in the arming page. Wrench, This is the info from the data.ini file. The helo is the Beta AH-1Z Super Cobra from the DAT site. Great bird but needs a bit of tweaking and some Marine skins. Wrench, Your questions always make me think. I think now I have a headache. But, I looked into the two ini files you asked about and saw this, "AllowedWeaponClass=RP,RCKT" at the first two weapons stations in the data.ini. So I changed it to this, "AllowedWeaponClass=EOGR,LGR,WGR,RCKT,RP," which was in some of the other weapon stations. Now I have many weapons available to me for the first set of pylons, but understand why it didn't allow all those. Gets abit crowded down there. So where do I go now to learn what all those 'Allowed' initials (EOGR,LGR,WGR,RCKT,RP) stand for so I can pick and choose which to allow? Thanks, Geary -

Stumped on a Texture not showing up

I installed the Mi-24P from here by Gepard. It requires the Mi24P-R0d.LOD file from Capun's original Mi-24, which doesn't have this file, or AllenJBs Mi-24 mods which does. I installed the AllenJB Mi-24 file and the helicopter shows up...only it's an Albino. I got it all installed, but Gepard's Afghanistan texture won't show. The helicopter is white with the decals on it. I placed a texture from AllenJBs Mi-24 and it shows fine. So... why doesn't the Gepard Afghanistan texture show? -

rscsjsuso5, Thanks, the texture files needed to be renamed. They are in the download file incorrect. The Hind has color now. Wrench, Yes, there is a textureset.ini file but apparently that isn't the problem. The texture files in the download file are mis-named. Thanks, Guys, P.S. Either of you know where I can lean to activate helicopter main guns? I've a few in a campaign that don't fire. Lots of missiles, rockets, etc. But I always like to squeeze a few rounds into whatever's in front of me when I'm too close for anything else or out of the other weapons. -
Hi all, I did this a couple years back and thought there is a post in the KB on how to do this, but can't seem to find it. Also lost my notes. I tried to install a campaign that requires planes from WOI be placed in WOE. I copied the planes folders over to WOE and extraced all the lod's and other plane files from the objectsdata.cat file and placed them in the separate plane folders. Also made sure all weapons are in weaponsdata.ini. Planes don't show up in single missions. What did I not do or do wrong?? Can anyone point me to the KB on this? Thanks, Geary

Wrench, I imported the Super MystereB2, VautourIIA and MystereIVA from WOI to WOE. I put cockpits in them and they work in WOE. I put them back in WOI to activate them there, and only 1 works. I suspect that's because I used the F-100.LOD from WOE to get two of the cockpits working. The cockpit that works in WOI was a complete cockpit set. Been working all day to activate the MiG-21's in SF Gold. Can't seem to get a MiG-21 cockpit where the pilots sit in the seat and not behind it. Any idea which numbers in which file get changed to move the pilot forward in a seat? The MiG-21 cockpits here all place the pilot behind the seat in SF Gold. Suspect it's just an old game quirk. I think most of the cockpits were built around WOE, WOI or WOV. I also keep losing the weapons if I make any changes to any airplane ini files. Go figure. -

Voice Command Software

Hi all, Anyone have any experience with any Voice Command Software, like GameVox or VAC, etc? I'm interested in trying some to avoid having to use the keyboard to give my wingman, flights and squadrons keyboard commands, but want to make sure it works with Strike Fighters 1 & 2. Also need to know if any interfere with TrackIR. Any help is appreciated. Geary -

Added SF2V Expansion Pack and it disappeared from the SF2V install but is there in the Expansion Pack install. Any help in locating the missing inflight map will be appreciated. Geary -

Hi all, This topic has probably been asked and answerd many times here but I can't seem to find a difinitive answer. Will the Series 1 Strike Fighter games run in Windows 7 64-bit? Is yes, how? I know Series 1 runs in Window 7 32-bit. That's what I used to have, but got a new rig and it's 64-bit. The games start, then cdt when I try to fly a mission. Any help pointing me in the right direction is appreciated. Geary -
Bringing back the patrol cap for the utility uniform isn't a bad idea, but the patrol cap visor only really protects your forhead a little. What about your ears and the back of your neck? The Army needs to institute the booney cap as the utility uniform head dress. Better all around. Problem is the rank at the top doesn't think it looks 'nice' enough for daily wear. But in defense of the beret, at least it got rid of the little green envelope we used to wear in clas s A's.

Hi all, I've somehow successfully transferred a Generation 1 plane, the F-15E Strike Eagle, into SF2E and it seems to work OK except for the afterburner flames. The engines light up in afterburner, but no flames. I remember sometime back fiddling with the Gen1 emmitters, etc, I learned about in an SF1 KB. But don't know if, where, how to adjust that stuff to work in SF2. Can someone please point me in the direction of a KB that teaches me how to get Gen1 planes to shoot fire out their rear ends in Gen2 games? Thanks, Geary

Hi all, I'm looking for some Soviet jets for SF2. In particular: A SU-27, 33 and 35. Also a Soviet skin for the converted Gen 1 Mirage Factory MiG-29 I found in the download section here. I also installed a Gen 1 MiG-25 and it seems to work but looks a bit crude in the cockpit. So an updated SF2 MiG-25 would be nice, but I'll also take an updated cockpit for this plane. I see references to some of these planes, like skins in the download SF2 skin section for SU-27. etc., but can't find the plane(s) they fit. Any help is appreciated. Geary

Hi all, I just installed a merged install of SF2, SF2V, SF2E and SF2I with both expansion packs and updated to EXP2 Jan 2011 update. All seems to work well, except added planes don't show up in the plane list. I know the planes work because they show up in the SF2E separate install. Any one have an idea why they don't show up in the merged install? Thanks, Geary

Hi All, I'm a bit confused on the Banner Labels beneath member's avatars and and the "Group" category beneath the banner labels. I've been assigned the Banner Labels of "Member" and "Choice." (My 'member' hasn't apparently been 'choice' for years, ...if you don't count the overly friendly young women I met one night on some back streets in Korea... But I digress...) How did I attain these labels? How can I change them? What are, if any, my choices? Also, how does one join a 'Group'? What groups are available? I've seen 'Military Veteran' as a group. Is this a real or virtual group? Any help clearing this up is appreciated. Geary
