  1. Thanks Kevin I haven't been able to find the Warpaint book in New Zealand. Its a bit disappointing though that it doesn't contain a good panel line diagram like the rest of the series. Colour is the the big hassle. Most books show standard Luftwaffe colours but some show a maritime scheme. I've decided to paint it for the North Atlantic. As for decals, I've been working on a range of these - Lloyd
  2. Hi Wrench I should probably cover the fuselage windows in the Baffin as well. I don't think the Ripon had them, unless someone has different information. In the meantime, I think I'll start work on a couple of other projects. Another addition for East Africa and I might start a Luftwaffe Ju-52/3m using my SAAF skin as a starting point. Lloyd
  3. Come across couple of things to solve before I issue the Finnish Ripon skin. I''ll probably create a single dark green decal and place it over the parts I'm having mapping problems with. And thanks for the help with the arrester hook. As you can see, its gone. Lloyd
  4. Blackburn B-5 Baffin

Spinners Yes, it was quite common prior to WWII for RAF aircraft not to have rudder/tail flashings. You'll note that my RNZAF Baffin and RAF Fury MkII skins are also without tail flashings. Lloyd

SkippyBing's original Baffin posted here at his suggestion. I've re-done the base skins but the Skippybing's decals and the aircraft itself are the stars of the show. The original Readme is included. Enjoy LloydNB

  7. Thanks guys. I'll give it a go when I get home (work is a drag!!). I think I'll include a revised data.ini file with the Finnish skin so that anyone who is interested can make thier own Blackburn Ripon. Lloyd
  8. Thanks Skippybing I'll try and load up the Baffin with my skins on the website this weekend. I've been trying to follow the discussion over the last couple of years on how to remove attachments from aircraft by amending the data.ini file. Must be thick!! Is there a way of removing the arrestor hook? It would make for a more convincing Finnish Ripon. Lloyd
  9. A bit of mucking about and you get a reasonable representation of a Finnish Ripon.
  10. The Blackburn Ripon T.1 was initially developed with an in-line engine but the Finns added a radial engine and effectively created the first Baffin. In Finland it continued to be called the Ripon. This skin is still in development. The wing markings are too big and it needs yellow tips to the underside of the lower wings and a yellow stripe on the fuselage.
  11. File Name: Blackburn Baffin - RNZAF File Submitter: LloydNB File Submitted: 30 Aug 2009 File Category: British Commonwealth Blackburn Baffin 2 GR (Wellington) Squadron. RNZAF (1938-1941) For the Baffin by SkippyBing (Philip Chandler), which is available at Avsim. New Zealand received 29 Blackburn Baffins during 1937/38. Most were converted Ripon MkIIs that had seen long service with the FAA. A handful were built as Baffins and served in the Middle East. Arranged into 3 squadrons and assigned to training duties, they were pressed into active service (anti-submarine patrols) at the start of hostilities. The entire contingent was replaced by Hudsons and reduced to scrap in 1941. The last remaining example of the type (a Ripon converted to a radial engine) is in Finland. 13. While I'm at it, I might as well update Skippybing's original FAA skins - if he doesn't object. LloydNB
  14. Hey Veltro2K How are you going to hande the BR.20Ms 7.7 mm ventral gun? Just a suggestion - link it to the gear so that when their up the gun hatch opens. Lloyd

  20. thedrummerguy Just a plea for you to consider doing a version with the frontlines for a WWII conflict (ie. British (Somaliland, Kenya, Sudan and Aden Protectorate), Italian (Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somaliland) and Vichy French (Somaliland)). LloydNB
  21. With a bit of work and a whole lot of research this thing might not turn out too bad. The wings are coming along. Thank goodness for an evening with nothing worth watching on the tele. Lloyd
  22. Next Fury in development. Lloyd
  23. My SAAF Fury skin is now available. Time permitting I'll try and do a couple of RAF skins. Lloyd
