  1. The nose-art is great but the modelling of the pilots and ejection seats looks fantastic. LloydNB
  2. OOOOH. A P-2 Neptune. Very nice indeed. LloydNB
  3. The May issue of Aeroplane Monthly is out and features Peter Jackson's latest addition to his collection of WWI aircarft - a flying reproduction of a FE.2b. This is the first of two to be built in New Zealand using original 160hp Beardmore engines. Other aircraft using reproduction engines may follow. Its interesting to note that when they ran the Beardmore engine they found that its performance was better than the 160hp it was rated at - 170hp at 1200rpm and up to 200hp at 1500rpm. Operationally the engine was limited to 1200rpm to preserve engine life. The magazine's website (www.aeroplanemonthly.co.uk) shows a mock combat with a DR.1. I understand that two BE.2cs are also in production. LloydNB

  7. About a month ago I left a post at Thirdwire asking for an update on on th WOI add-on covering teh Suez Crisis. As I haven't had any joy, I was wondering whether anyone here had any news they can share. LloydNB

  12. Thanks for the info. I can be patient.
  13. I think I've got the Squadron/Signal publication on the Buccaneer. I'll see if its got good scan able markings.
  14. Later PSP versions have a problem with converting TGA files so they are useable in the game. They tend to come out as negatives and a ghastly yellow. If you have the problem with PSP10 I have little utility that will fix it. Otherwise look for previous postings - I'm sure that I put a link to the utility download somewhere on here. LloydNB
  15. Time consuming but pretty rewarding. Is anyone interested in a plan silver Tante Ju?
  16. ndicki I presume that all eleven Ju-52s operate by SAA were pressed into service. Do you know the serial numbers and letters? I've found the following plate but all the photos I been able to find suggest and single colour. Then again its hard to tell in over exposed black and white film.
  17. We don't happen to have an expert on SAAF colours and markings, do we? I've been working on a SAAF Mohawk IV. The colour scheme is based on a profile found at Wings Palette and uses the SAAF markings (similar to RAF but with orange instead of red). I want to move on to the SAAF Fairey Battle and Ju-52 which were also used in East Africa. My thinking is that SAAF aircraft that were for home defence would be have SAAF markings, but if squadrons were equipped from RAF stocks (for example the 3 Squadron Hurricanes) they would have RAF markings. Sound logical? LloydNB
  18. Serial numbers to do and then I'll release it.
  19. Thanks Kevin, that's good news. I'll have to do some fiddling around with it. My interest has always been for the quirky aircraft of the inter-war period. Many of them were still operational in the minor theatres like East Africa and Iraq. I'd love to see the following added to the game in the future: Gladiator, Lysanders, Bombays, Valentias, Wellesleys, Vincents, Ju.86's (used by several countries including South African), Hardys, Audaxes, Harts and Londons.
  20. Thanks for the help ndicki I'm using PSP9, but it will convert most formats. As for the Battle, I'm just a humble skinner and don't have a clue how to model aircraft. My question was whether there was a way arond the limitations of the current Battle model. i really hate having external stores on it. LloydNB
  21. Ok. A evening of repainting and the 3 SAAF Squadron Mohawk IV is looking more like the genuine article.
