View File Breguet XIX_Hellas 2 Mira Royal Hellenic Air Force 1940 The Breguet 19A2B2 served in the Royal Hellenic Air Force from 1925 to 1940. Initially they carried the names of Greek cities and island but were later given code numbers. 53 aircraft were purchased, including 12 from Yugoslavia in 1935, but only 18 were still airworthy by the start of the Greco-Italian War. By this stage it filled an observation/army cooperation role with 1 Observation Mira, under I Corp Command, based at Perigiali, near Corinth and with 2 Observation Mira under II Corps command, based at Larissa and Kozani. On 4 November 1940, a Breguet from 2 Mira located the attacking 3rd Julia Alpine Division in a mountain pass near Metsovo. Three more Breguets sent to bomb the Italian division were in turn attacked by three Fiat CR.42 fighters. A Breguet was shot down, one crash-landed and the third returned to base, though badly shot up. I've include both the bmp files and the layered psp files for those of you who want to improve on the skin or make your own. A slightly different take on the Spanish Civil War - Alas Rojas Squadron. Equipped with 9 Br.19s, 4 Nieuport 52s, 1 Fokker F.VIIB, 1 DH89 Dragon Rapide and a mix of civilian aircraft. -

Thanks mate! I'll give it a try. In the meantime, I've nearly finished a Belgian Br19 (Ecole d’aéronautique). Just need to do some decals for the "Br19A2B2" and aircraft numbers for the tail. -

I've managed to move the loadout to under the fuselage but can't get rid of the wing bomb racks. I've forgotten so much while away. Maybe a Greek Skin next. -

Actually, the Br.19 is by Stephen1918 and is available on the FE downloads. As the Belgian Br.19s were mainly built as recon (A) or bombers (B) I'm still tossing up whether to paint in bomb bay doors, an aiming portal for the pilot and changing the loadout to include 50kg of small bombs carried vertically. -

At the time of the German invasion, Belgium operated a few Br.19s in its advanced training school. Some were pressed into a communications role. Early progress shots. -

C 47 Paratroop door
LloydNB replied to Trotski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Would it be possible to creat an animated paratrooper i.e. have them seated or standing in a row, hold onto their static line, move to the door, then jump? There are animations associated with other "munitions", why not paratroopers? A lot of effort for little return but it would be nice to know if it is possible! -

Yes, it has a tailhook that works!

Geezer I really must send through the finished Sea Gladiator skin files and decals. I'll try to have it done after work this evening - that would be the small hours of 28 January for you.

Veltro2k WWII WIPS
LloydNB replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
I love the Ju-88 development. I hope there's room for a classic A4 and the option of replacing the front bomb-bay with fuel tanks. The Signal books are a great resource. From my reading most variants were developed from either the A1 of A4 platform. I think most of the later variants (including the night fighters) dropped the dive brakes. -
SF2 WW2 SAAF Fury - East Africa
LloydNB posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: SF2 WW2 SAAF Fury - East Africa File Submitter: LloydNB File Submitted: 21 December 2015 File Category: Other Hawker Fury MkII SAAF No.2 Squadron For use with the A-Team Fury MkII. Some elements of Charles' original skin have been retained. The Hawker Fury was still in service with the South African Air Force at the start of WWII. Due to aircraft shortages, the Fury was used in mixed squadrons during 1940 in East Africa. As it was too slow to catch the more modern Italian aircraft, the Fury was mainly used in the close support role. Click here to download this file
