SBD-5 Dauntless No.25 Squadron Royal New Zealand Air Force 1944 This is a set of decals and a repaint of the SBD-5 based on a skin for CFS2 by Henry Williams.
  2. Looks great. What do fields of opium poppies look like from the air? The flowers tend to range in colour from mauve/pink to a deep red. Might make the cultivated areas on the valley floors more interesting. LloydNB
  3. The de Havilland DH-89 Dragon Rapide is available at Capun's site as a Spanish Civil War aircraft. I'm working on an IDF/AF skin (circa 1948) for it. If you have a spare NZ$787,500 (The way currencies are bouncing around at the moment I wont even try to put that in Euros or US$s) there's is one for sale locally. LloydNB
  4. Buccaneer Morane-Saulnier M.S.406 Dewoitine D.520 Sea Venom
  5. Richard6 & Spinners If you prefer the less weathered look for the skin, have a look at the RJAF Hunter I have posted. I was planning to do a few Hunter FGA9s but not No.8 Squadron. Your welcome to use the skin - its only a repaint of the stock. LloydNB
  6. No.25 Squadron RNZAF and so far generic USN. LloydNB
  7. I see in the newspaper today taht Israel is to "buy" 25 F-35As at a value of US$15.2 billion. There is an option for the future purchase of 50 F-35As or F-35Bs. Of course "buy" is inverted commas because Israel wont actually pay a penny and the poor old US taxpayer will pay the lot. Delivery to start in 2012 so I expect the other partners in the F-35 project will be told that they will have to wait even longer to take delivery of their aircraft. LloydNB
  8. Code and serial numbers to be done. LloydNB
  9. Could this belly radome be used for the Grumman Avenger? During Suez the French used Avengers with a radome and no dorsal guns for ASW work. LloydNB
  10. Is anyone else experiencing a problem with aircraft on the ground no longer appearing with their national and individual markings? LloydNB
  11. Of course the RNZAF flew both the Avenger (Grumman TBF-1C) and the Corsair, so these are on my "to-do" list as well. The Avenger was never used in its traditional role of torpedo bomber by the RNZAF. They were used as dive bombers by Nos. 30 and 31 Squadrons, who deployed to Piva, Bouganville. As a secondary role the Avengers sprayed Japanese gardens with diesel oil. In 1947 the RNZAF was asked to carry out trials of aerial seed sowing and topdressing. The Air Board agreed and allocated a Grumman Avenger aircraft, with a specially fitted auxilliary petrol tank converted into a hopper which was installed in the bomb bay. It was loaded to carry 2240 lb of fertiliser. LloydNB
  12. No need for the templates Wrench. I have the Squadron/Signal Dauntless (No.33) book, so I'll make my own. Yeah, I know about having too many projects on the go. I must get back to working on the Martletts. LloydNB

  15. File Name: RJAF Hunter repaint File Submitter: LloydNB File Submitted: 16 Aug 2008 File Category: Hunter, Lightning and Vampire Hunter F73 Royal Jordanian Air Force *******For WoI******* I was never very happy about the colour of the stock Hunter skin. It looks fine for a gate guardian that has sat outside in all-weathers for 20 years, but not for a Hunter on active service during the 1960s. This skin is more like the Armourdave skin with a few added decals to make it more representative of a RJAF Hunter in 1967. Click here to download this file

  18. Close Stigir but that's Australian. I'll see if I can find an RNZAF Hudson. LLoydNB
  19. A Hudson!!! It would be nice to do a good RNZAF skin for it
  20. If, like me, you thought there was something missing from the stock RJAF Hunter....... LloydNB
  21. For those interested inthe RJAF. This contains some nice shots of Jordanian military airfields. http://ghaith.farkouh.net/rjaf/index.php?url=home LloydNB
  22. Now that's coming along nicely! LloydNB
  23. Someone could add "super- phosphate" as a weapon. :) LloydNB
  24. Just a quick question. I have WoI but not WoE. Is the stock Hunter skin in WoI the same as in WoE? I note that in WoI the stock skin is quite fadded and weathered, which is quite reasonable for the local conditions. But most colour photos I have seen of RAF Hunters, and all the colour plates, show darker, more solid colours. Admittedly a good number of the colour photos out there are of aircraft lovingly restored in historical collections and are not the best indication of what an operational fighter would look like. Any opinions? And I was looking skin a few Hunters. Has anyone worked out the location of the front gear and main gear doors for decals? LloydNB
