  1. Wrench Now that I've got myself into this, anything you have would be useful. I found the BoF skin and I have good plate of GB 1/32 1 Escadrille in Casablanca 1942. I think doing the stripes might be fun. Thank goodness I have a French camo colour chart. LloydNB
  2. Hey Wrench I'll do you a deal. You finish the Vichy Curtis H-75A and I'll have a go at the Douglas DB7. I think GB II/19 flew them in Algeria in 1942. LloydNB

  8. Anyone know this aircraft

Two versions of the D.XVI parasol fighter were completed in September-October 1918, one powered by the 160hp Goebel Goe III rotary and the other by a similarly rated Siemens-Halske Sh II rotary. The D.XVI had a fully- cantilevered fabric covered parasol wing and a slab-sided plywood covered fuselage. Armament comprised twin synchronised 7.9 mm LMG 08/15 machine guns. The D.XVI proved faster than the Siemens-Schuckert D.IV and the Fokker D.VII up to an altitude of 4,000 m but slower above that. Span 31 ft 1/2in (9.46 m) Length 19ft 4in (5.9 m) LloydNB
  9. Be.2A No4 Squadron RFC 1915 A fairly generic early Be.2A. Some photos show another Union Jack on the rudder, above the aircraft number. If you fancy that then the extra entries in the decal.ini file are relatively simple.

Terrific! I remember the old Airfix model of the Hannover that I had years ago. It will be fun to see if I can do a better paint job than I could manage at age 10. It shouldn't be hard! LloydNB

  13. Falcon161 You might have some problems with GIMP and getting the Alpha-channel in the decals to work properly. Its common with some applications to end up with negative decals with a bright yellow background. There is a solution! The application found below should help. Once you have made tga decals with alpha-channels and saved them, open the application up on your desktop and drag all the decal files on to it. Make sure its set to 32bit tga files first. http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/archive/ind...hp?t-25433.html LloydNB
  14. Hi Bulldog I suggest you pop over to Thirdwire and ask TK. You might be surprised how quickly you get an answer. LloydNB
  15. My skin

    Nicely subtle. LloydNB
  16. Bulldog Try extracting the SOVIETNUM files from the Object.cat and replacing the colour with the one you want. It should be a pretty good match for want you want. LloydNB
  17. Bulldog Glad to be of service. I didn't realise that you were working on the 6-Day War. I've been hanging around FE for the last couple of months. I've done a few skins for the Suez Crisis (EAF Vampire, H-5 helicopter, Il-28, Fury, C-47, Mig-15bis, IDF Mosquito). Has anyone done a RJAF Vampire skin for 1967? The decals from my 1956 RJAF Vampire (with the addition of a squadron flash and the checkerboard markings) would probably work. Let me know if you would like me to do one. LloydNB
  18. If it helps Bulldog? Here’s what I do. Select the background of the image (which I want to be transparent) and invert the selection (so the decal is selected). Save the selection (the decal) to alpha channel. Save the file as a tga file. (You may have to "select nothing" and "merge all layers" first. Open the desktop application and set it to convert to tga files Go into Explorer and find the file/s (I usually do a set of decals at the same time). Select the files and drag them onto the application. (You will notice that the file size changes). And you should be set. I haven't tried it with any other paint program that can do tga files, such as Gimp, but it theory it should work. If I read the notes from the developer correctly, it wasn't designed for PSP in particular. LloydNB
  19. Found it! http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/archive/ind...hp?t-25433.html LloydNB
  20. Bulldog I presume you have PSP 8 or later. Don't give up! I'm using PSP 9 and a little application that I found to make decals. You simply make the decals as usual and save them as tga files with alpha channels then open the application on your desktop and drag the saved files onto the application. The ghastly reversed decals with bright yellow details turnout just as you originally wanted them. Sorry the link didn't work. Still looking. Cheers LloydNB
  21. What a great discussion. As a fan of the early-war aircraft, I particularly like that you're concentrating there. It also makes for a good baseline for comparison when it comes to late-war aircraft. I'm really looking forward to the end result. LloydNB

  23. Need help place aileron decals

Hi gambit Is "Insignia002" the French one or the RFC/RAF one? I'm currently at work (lunch hour) so can't check. If its for the RFC/RAF, you might want to consider a roundel without the white border. Its more appropriate for an early war skin such as the Farman. I did one for my DH.2 skins if you don't want to make a new decal yourself. _____ OK. Got home and checked and its French, so ignore my ramblings. LloydNB
