  1. Help with Camel skin

To answer my own question. Yes, we can put individual pilot's symbols (eg. different coloured stars, checks etc) as decals on the wheels. Below is my first try - a star decal on the Camel's wheel. And yes, the decals does rotate when you land. You could do this for all the aircraft in a squadron or only a few (eg the senior pilots). 2. Help with Camel skin

That got it. Progress so far. I like a more weather beaten look. Has anyone tried to produce individualised wheel covers with decals? It would take some patience but it might be possible to have different patterns (eg check and stars) appear for different aircraft in a flight. Regards Lloyd
  3. Help with Camel skin

Thanks guys. v. Deutschmark - I know how to do it, but I couldn't work out what name was used for the ailerons. And there are sets on both top an bottom wings so it wasn't as simple as "Aileron_L" and Aileron_R". Capun - That's the ticket. I knew there was a simple answer - look in the OUT file. I tried the names used in the data.ini and a half dozen other combinations. Given the damage model that these WWI aircraft use, this is going to be a common issue for skinners. Large roundals are probably going to spread over 3 or even 4 meshes. Perhaps the modders could give some thought to listing the mesh names in the Readme files? Regards Lloyd

  5. Does anyone have info on the IAF/DF B17 circa 1956? I know officially they were B17Gs but I seem to remember that they were never fitted with chin turrets, so the B17F would be a better model to use. I have plenty of photos from 1948 which show aircraft without the ball or the dorsal turrets. Were these obtained by 1956? I think they might have been. Lloyd
  6. The real thing

Well spotted Red. I did some searching and it is a Nieuport 24bis.
  7. Well its the start of the airshow season in New Zealand and this weekend its the Wings Over the Wairarapa show about an hour's drive from home. I'll be taking my camera to get some shots. The aircraft of interest on show - the Bristol F2b Fighter, Fokker Dr.1, Sopwith Camel, Fokker DVII, Nieuport 24 and Avro 504k. There will be some 1930s and WWII aircraft as well, but its the WWi birds I'm inteested in. Some audio of them starting up and flying would be terrific.

The original olive green interior, under-carriage and flaps have been retained - you can't improve on perfection. Install in the usual way and add the following into your C-47A.ini file. File Name: EAF_Lancaster (Suez) File Submitter: LloydNB File Submitted: 13 Oct 2006 File Updated: 6 Dec 2006 File Category: SF WW2 Aircraft Skins Lancaster 8 Squadron, Egyptian Air Force (Cairo) 1956 This is a set of decals and a repaint of the upper surfaces of the original Lancaster skin by Gramps. All credit for the rest of the skin goes to him The EAF had 9 Lancasters at the beginning of the Suez Crisis numbered from 1801 to 1809. Relegated to reserve units with the arrival of the IL-28s, the Lancasters of the EAF were dispersed around a number of airfields during the conflict. Five were caught on the ground and destroyed by FAA Seahawks. Cheers LloydNB Click here to download this file

File Name: EAF_Il-28 File Submitter: LloydNB File Submitted: 27 Sep 2006 File Updated: 11 Feb 2007 File Category: IL-28 IL-28 8 Squadron, Egyptian Air Force (Inchas) 1956 The first delivery of Il-28s to the EAF carried single letter codes on the nose. However, later aircraft carried four digit number in Arabic under the cockpit. I've represented a squadron with a mix of both. Not really a skin; this is a set of decals for the Suez Crisis added to the original Sovietsilver skin. If you downloaded the earlier version, don't bother doing it again. This is exactly the same as the last one. Cheers LloydNB Click here to download this file
