  1. I did a SAAF skin for Cocas's Gladiator some time back. I'd be happy to give your one a go.

Terrific. I would have picked 100kg. The intelligence report is a fantastic resource, even recording the colour of the components (warhead, tailfin and fuse) for everything from the largest HE bomb to the smallest incediary bomb. I did note that for some bombs the casing thickness is 25mm (1 inch), which is incredibly thick. The 160kg bomb is an interesting one - designed for anti-submarine work to explode at depth.
  3. I've started to re-do my Martlet skins. I'm looking to release skins for MkI (four gun, non folding wings), MkII (six gun, folding wings) and MkIII (4 gun, non folding wings). Below is the MkI (markings not finalised.

I've read that Italian bombs were relatively big for the weight of the explosive charge. Those shots of 50kg bombs seems to indicate that. I guess it would be related to their rather crude construction. It seems clear that 800kg bombs could only be used for short range missions due to the limited capacity of Italian bombers. A mix of bombs from 2kg through to 500kg in a single load seems common. I would take the pictured 50kg bombs as typical in design, with the reinfocing straps only used on larger bombs - say 250kg and bigger. I did a little search in Italian and came up with the following - hope it helps. The last one is from a Royal Engineers report on italian bombs and fuses that gives fantastic detail. See link below. http://www.talpo.it/files/bombe-da-aereo-italiane-manuale-inglese.pdf

Do I see a CR42 CN? I nice addition to have the night fighter variant with the extended exhaust.
  6. First Eagles WW2

Some Italian bombs would be interesting. Very crude things that look like they were put together in someone's garage. All reinforcing straps and exposed rivets. Some interesting variety in bomb sizes (15, 20, 36, 40, 50, 100, 160 and 250kg). The Italians also tended to compensate for their training early in the war by carrying a mix of smaller bombs - more chance of hitting the target.

I see the Ca.101 and CR32 in colonial red and white skins (for identification in the bush). I really love the Bombay!!
  8. First Eagles WW2

    Thanks mate Much appreciated.

Hi Geezer Great work. With the differnent users of the CR42, there are some nice skin options. Could you consider releasing the layered skin file as well as the jpeg. For those of us who enjoy skinning, it would make it so much easier to build on you terrific effort.
  10. The stock loading file has the start up sequence fo a jet. It doesn't create the right atmosphere. Has anyone done a new sound file for a prop plane starting up?
  11. Thanks I have a Polikarpov I-16 starting up, but it sounds like an old tractor. I'm off to an airshow next week so should be able to record a P40E.
  12. First Eagles WW2

Hi Geezer Can you give me a quick reminder to what aircraft models you're working on. Did you ever make any progress on the Bombay?
  13. Nice. I was thinking of updating my Ju88 skins.
  14. A stab in the dark!! Bf110 Zerstorer..
  15. I like it!! Can I dare to hope that you used the mapping from the P skin? Or do I have to start again? If you want to release it with the Yugoslav skin, drop me a line and I'll send it through.
  16. Looks great. But I didn't realise you'd have to start from scratch. I thought the Do17K was a P without the cameras and a longer only partially glazed nose. Now I feel guilty for suggesting it.
  17. Nope. I need a bit more than that before I can work out what it is!!
  18. Well, I'm afraid the cameras can't be covered up. So I'll have to beg Veltro to do a Do.17K. I've updated the skin above - just some tinkering to do.
  19. I thought I might do a Yugoslav Do17K. Early days but showing promise. I presume I can cover the cameras in the Do17P with a decal.
  20. New Industrial Objects

You've got to have a fantasy car for when you win the lottery. There is a very nice 6C 2500 for sale with the coach work from an 8C. I'm sure its no more than 600,000 euro.
  21. New Industrial Objects

Geezer Now that's beautiful!! Nice to see another lover of Alfas. I'm afraid my taste (and bank balance) are more modest. A nice 1600 Junior Zagato will suit me fine, although my trusty 156 will do for a few years yet. LloydNB
  22. Storm Over The Sahara

That's fantastic news mate. Welcome back.
  23. Storm Over The Sahara

So what ever happened to Geezer? He'd produced some lovely late 30s/early WWII aircraft. It would be a shame if they never saw the light of day!
  24. Looking really good! I presume the bomb load was hung vertically (fuse down) as was common with other French bombers.
