  1. File Name: Potez 633 B2 Grec File Submitter: LloydNB File Submitted: 03 May 2013 File Category: French Air Force Potez 633 B2 Grec The supply agreement for 24, twin-engine Potez 633 B2 Grec bombers, was signed in January 1938 with the delivery deadline expiring in 1 year. Finally 13 airplanes were delivered but one of them was destroyed with French crew at Tanagra Air Base on the delivery flight. The remaining 11 airplanes were confiscated by the French upon the break of the war. The Greek Potez 633 had bombing configuration, except one that was delivered with photographic equipment. Hydraulic variable-paced propellers, F.R. radio, periscopic Bronzavia type bombing sight, OPL 36 fixed gunner sight, GPU rails for 4 or 2 bombs were among their equipment. They took part in the operations in 1940 - 1941, with the 31st Bombing Squadron, until their final immobilization due to the lack of spare parts. LloydNB Click here to download this file
  2. The Potez 633 B2 Grec skin has been posted. Should be available shortly.
  3. I did a Potez 633 B2 Grec skin some time ago. I can re-post it. Actually the 630 lod has a bomb-bay, so is in effect a 633. The French 633 skin that I have in the Downloads has revised loadout and DATA.ini to turn it into a 633.
  4. Looks fantastic. Definitely one of my favourite aircraft. A small point of correction - generally only one torpedo was ever carried (on the left side) because two affected performance too much. The attachment was on the inner wing very close to the fuselage - not on the fuselage. Bombs were carried verically with fins down.
  5. More early war aircraft- Fairey Fox III, Fairey Battle, Wellesley, Bombay, Bloch 152, Potez 63.11, Renard R.31
  6. I never realised that the Stirling had secondary wing root bomb-bays. I know total bomb capacity was 14,000lb but the bomb-bay design meant that the biggest bomb carried was 2,000lb. See photo. What was the capacity of the wing root bomb-bays? The photo suggests they weren't used just for incediaries? Is that 6x500lb in the wings and 3 rows of 6x500lb in the belly?
  7. There are plenty of photos of the original docks from the St Nazaire raid. What you can't model could be added to the tile as a texture taken from a photo.
  8. Now that's more like it. An early war bomber. Yeh!!!
  9. Storm Over The Sahara

I so hope this is still alive!!
  10. Its nice, but its not a Vickers Wellesley or a Fairey Battle. Maybe next time
  11. Given that so few people are actually skinning WWII aircraft would there be enough return from the amount of work involved? Wouldn't be easier for people to submit requests for help with squadron crests/symbols and those of us with good reference material send them the jpeg? I could supply a list of all Regia Aeronautica squadrons by theatre.
  12. Almost finished a Belgian hurricane using Raven's superb MK I model and template. Just the codes to do.
  13. I think the cartridge and bullet weigh 22 oz.
  14. Thought I might try a Spanish skin.
  15. Ar 68E skin finished.
  16. Nice. Using decals for the different flight colours works well. I used it in 2007 for the Airco DH.2 - 24 Squadron and the RNAS No.10 Squadron skins. I'm still pretty happy with the DH.2, but there are much better depictions around of RNAS No.10 Squandron.
  17. Just an update on the Ar-68E.
  18. Here's why you shouldn't rely on model boxes for ideas on how to paint an aircraft. Almost all the representations of a Ar-68E show the light and shade of fabric covered wings. But the Ar-68E had plywood on the upper surface of the top wing back to the forward spar. On the underside of the top wing the plywood went back to the rear spar. The lower wings were entirely covered in plywood. A leason in doing your research. I could have been several days creating a fabric covered aircraft that looked just like the plastic models but nothing like the real thing.

  21. Couldn't resist starting a Begian Hurricane MkI
  22. Thanks Raven I was wanting to do some Hurricane skins - your templates are great place to start. I work in Paint Shop Pro, so some of the layers don't come through perfectly but its not a biggie. I thought a SAAF skin from East Africa would be a nice place to start and go well with some of my other releases.
  23. File Name: Belgian Gladiator MkI File Submitter: LloydNB File Submitted: 22 November 2012 File Category: French Air Force Gladiator MkI 1ère Escardrille de Chasse ("La Comète")/Ième Group/No.2 Air Regiment (Fighter) ********For Cocas' terrific Gladiator MkII******** Belgium had ordered 22 Gladiator Is during the summer of 1937. 15 aircraft were serviceable on 10 May 1940. Five were not in a flyable condition, 2 were lost prior to accidents prior to the commencement of hostilities. I've included only 14 numbers in the pact as the 15th aircraft (no. 18) belonged to the commanding General and was not armed. While the exact serial numbers of all the active aircraft are not known, I have included the numbers of all the aircraft which were recorded as combat losses. La Comète were based at Schaffen, just north of Diest. The base was attacked at 04:32hrs on 10 May 1940 with the loss of 3 Gladiators and 9 of the 11 Hurricane MkIs stationed there. 24. Fantastic work Carlo. Rivets drive me crazy. You must have more patience than I have.
