Super Hornet Package for SF2 v4.1
TurtleHawk replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Thanks, EricJ. -
The hud on my installation seems to be missing some symbology, velocity vector, altitude ladder/pitch ladder(?), not sure exactly what it's called, gun pipper. I've downloaded and reinstalled twice. Maybe I've missed an installation step? Does anyone have any tips, please? Thanks for your help,

Sense of scale
TurtleHawk replied to xclusiv8's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I added the height field mod to the Germany terrain, and it enhances my sense of perspective regarding altitude and speed, another example would be the American Northwest Terrain. I'm echoing the comments about flying in the SF2:V map; mountains, valleys give an improved sense of those things, at least for me. -
War For Israel Campaign For SF2,SF2:E,SF2:V and SF2:I
TurtleHawk replied to Spectre8750's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Spectre8750, Thank you, very much! I have really wanted a modern era campaign. This is incredible!!! I have spotted one issue. The Brimstones face backwards when loaded on the Typhoon. I think there is a fix for this, but I couldn't find it. Found it: http://forum.combatace.com/topic/44754-sf2-series-brimstone-3-pack-fix/ Thanks, again. -
SF2 Israel+Cat Extractor Question
TurtleHawk replied to elephant's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hello, Welcome! Basic modding, adding aircraft, skins, weapons, terrains to the SF2 series, does not require use of a cat extractor. You might want to start by visiting this link for helpful info: http://forum.combata...i-first-eagles/ And here is info about using the cat extractor in SF2: http://forum.combatace.com/topic/44027-extracting-files-from-sf2-series-cat-files-by-migbuster/ I hope this helps. Have some fun! -

Rockwell/MBB F-31A Mustang II Version 1.0 for SF2
TurtleHawk replied to Dels's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Thanks, Dels, I have a question. I hope it's not dumb. It must be something I'm doing wrong, since noone else has asked about this. The hud on my installation seems to be missing some symbology, velocity vector, altitude ladder/pitch ladder(?), not sure exactly what it's called, gun pipper. I've downloaded and reinstalled twice. Maybe I've missed an installation step? Thanks for your help, and excellent work. -
I've been waiting for a color eReader. Graphic novels, and other media are not so great in B&W. Not sure this is the one, but color is here!

SF2V Air & Ground War Expansion Pack v2.0 - Sep. 2014 Update
TurtleHawk replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Thank you!!! -
Oh, man... I can think of all kinds of captions for that pic. "Now, we reeaallly mean it...!"

I have often wondered about the same thing and had similar observations. I very much appreciate the American willingness to help those who are in such tragic circumstances. It's often when we are at our best. And this absolutely not intended as a criticism of other nations.

SF2 Series UPDATE ALERT!
TurtleHawk replied to Crusader's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I think there is an NF4+ thread, maybe under the campaign mod heading. You might want to check there. NF4+ was not designed for the Dec9 patch. I think it's doable if you have more than a basic knowledge of how to tweak stuff. YMMV... I have tried it, but just had too many little issues, that I decided to stick with pre-Dec9 install. I'm also not exactly sure what all you get with Dec9 patch, to make it worth the effort??? Let us know if you figure it all out... -

I'm such a knucklehead...
TurtleHawk replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Most add-on skins have a readme, which describes how to install. Also, reread the KB, how to install skins is there. I hope this helps. http://forum.combata...knowledge-base/ -
NATO Fighters Part 1 (Main Folder)

I know this is for SF2 E: June2009 patch only, but... Has anyone installed it on Dec2009 update? What are your results? -
SF2V / WOV Air & Ground Expansion Packs
TurtleHawk replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Thanks, Eric, will do. Update: I install the decals fix, but the A-7 still has a small missing gfx where the tail meets the fuselage. Sorry I'm not able to post a screen. -
SF2V / WOV Air & Ground Expansion Packs
TurtleHawk replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
I understand the "install at your own risk" aspect of using the SF2I patched to Dec2009. For the sake of clarity, would the install steps be: 1. create new saved game SF2I/Dec2009 2. install AG XP GOLD mods, 3. add the additional SF2I specific items 4. cross fingers 4. go fly!!! Or am I missing something? I've read the readme, but with the release of the Dec2009 update, I'm not sure if things changed. Thank you -
This morning at 9:30 local, I think I saw two Hunters, and a Mirage, departing together. And then what looked like an A-4 departing Miramar. Then about 15 minutes later 4 F-18s in close formation behind them, which is not unusual. Can anyone tell me if I was seeing "mirages", or could that really have been a Mirage. There's been a lot more flights the last 2-4 weeks. I work in La Jolla.
